Sorry for keeping this thread going, but since we were talking about musical talent earlier, I figured I'd just post this video here rather than start a brand new thread.
This is an example of REAL musical talent. I don't know who these people are, but there is no auto-tune or any other type of trickery going on here, just great singing:

I guess you could call out Michael Jackson too.

Grace Kelly, in her day, was easily as ugly as Miley Cyrus in her behavior for those times. They just had publicists to shut the media up and the studios killed less-than-flattering pictures and stories. Grace was a very diffferent girl away from her movie star image.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

Sorry, ttb. History is what it is. She was a lonely person within her publicity bubble, and became a legend when she walked away from all of it. She lived well and died happy, though very prematurely. I think you can keep enjoying, even admiring her, just maybe for different reasons.

Heck, I'm not sure I could identify any much less a good sample of these underage starlets.
Some start out in Disney type rolls trading on youth and good wholesome looks and then capitalize on their fame by going tawdry, some have managers that view their career potential differently.
Some have careers based more on papparazi and press releases than on actual performances requiring talent.
Some simply have the requisite 14 inch waist and general anorexic look that Hollywood currently favors.
I'm from a generation that does not call females unattractive so I won't be voting in the poll but quite frankly would you be able to tell me who she is? Graduate of Orange County Reality Show? Or what? Some teeny bopper hit parade show?
For many people its all a matter of agents and attending "the right" functions and being seen on some red carpet in the presence of diamonds or something.

I don't follow the celebrity news so all I hear is what I listen to on the radio, or see on TV. Her songs are quite catchy and like I said earlier it's a guilty pleasure, but I have never had a Miley Cyrus song stuck in my head except for Achey Breaky Heart from the stupid VH1 90's hits show. That wasn't her it was her dad so there you go.

Not to resurrect a dated thread, but I kinda chuckled after I saw a story about rapper Eminem and his daughter, who actually appears to be normal.
I immediately thought about Billy Ray's famous (infamous?) daughter and never would have guessed in a million years that Eminem's daughter would be the normal looking one. LOL

Cyrus is playing the pop music game. Create shock and awe. Eminem's daughter isn't (currently) in the industry. Sell records. You aren't the market, in fact your response to her is exactly the response she wants... talking about her, making comments, because every negative you make makes her more of a reactionary that she can sell her rebel image to the pop music buying youth.
Wrecking Ball itself is a reasonable pop tune. The video took it over the edge for consciousness in the market to sell units. Every viral mashup video is a win for Miley. At least short term.
