Quote: s2dbakerI'm voting for Obama. He's not Willard Mitt Romney and that's the best reason of all.
LOL, that the only reason to vote for Obama,
cause there's nothing he's done in the last 4
years that anybody wants repeated..
I actually had quite a few sentences about Obama's accomplishments and why I thought he deserved re-election but then I thought to myself, "Who am I going to convince on this message board?" So I went with the reason I knew you wanted to hear. It's just easier that way.Quote: EvenBobQuote: s2dbakerI'm voting for Obama. He's not Willard Mitt Romney and that's the best reason of all. Because he's favored to win and I like voting for a winner.

Yes, but what he does socially with his wife
aren't really accomplishments. Improving
his game on the WH bowling lanes (which
he's done) isn't a reason to vote for him.
Smoking a cig and chewing Nicorette at
the same time, tho impressive, is kinda
lame.
I didn't check yet, did he take another deduction this year for his pet dancing pony?Quote: sodawaterRomney reported on his taxes a theft of $39 from his two blind trusts that paid him over $1.5 million in 2011. That is like me reporting the loss of a penny -- except the penny would be a higher proportion of my income.

Its too funny. The Left has been ragging on Romney
for months and when he finally does what they want,
and it shows he's a stand up American who gives
almost a third to charity, its all sour grapes and lets
nitpik all the details.
Too bad this election is 5% about Romney and 95% about
O'Bummer. Maybe 98%...

I think the deal the Obama team offered was 5 tax returns (3 other than the 2 he released) and they wouldn't bug him about any more.
Did he release 5?
If not for the vote trade, it is very likely that I would have wrote in William Jefferson Clinton, again, f*** the Constitutional term limit.
doesn't bring up Obama's horrible record.
I'm sorry, I was laughing so hard when I typed
that I had to correct 4 errors..
Quote: JohnzimboI have to vote for Romney...to cancel out my wife's vote for Obama. Anything would be better than 4 more years of him.
Question to Obama supporter:
"Name three reasons to vote for Obama."
Answer from Obama supporter:
"Well, Mitt Romney...."
Yeah, thats your answer to everything.
Never mind..

What was that deal? I missed it...
5 years of tax returns for college transcripts???
Who cares. Romney is rich. Obama is now much richer than he was a few years ago. Two rich guys are running for President.
Tax returns, college transcripts, birth certificates, religion...blah...
Who will be a better President???
Because I am not in the wealthiest 2 % of Americans
that the Republicans only care about.
We need to keep Bush era tax cuts for millionaires ?
Why is that again ? All the inner circle of CEO's and
their Board members are not creating jobs (well
unless you count their nanny's), the corporations
they WORK FOR are creating the jobs.
I actually don't think Mitt is a bad guy. I'm sure
he's a pretty reasonable person. But the ultra
right wingers in the GOP have pulled him off
course.
I don't like Obama's monster tax increase amongst many other reasons.
for Mission 146.
progress on a balanced budget / Social Security / Medicare
because their lips are too firmly planted on the asses of
special interest groups.
Time to get serious with recommendations from a
bi-partisan Blue Ribbon panel. Maybe something like
the across the board cuts that are going to be
implemented if the deficit ceiling isn't raised.
Esteemed Forum Members:
- Any better ideas ?

Bottom line is, if Obama wins, he will be the first
president in history to be reelected with minus 50
percent approval ratings. The first. But he is the
annointed one, the immaculacted one, the Savior.
That should be enough.
Richard Nixon was reelected in 1972 with 59% pre convention approval numbers.
Ronald Reagan was reelected in 1984 with 57% pre convention approval numbers.
Bill Clinton was reelected in 1996 with 60% pre convention approval.
George W. Bush was reelected in 2004 with 52% pre convention approval.
Barak Obama had a 44% pre convention approval rating. How can he lose.
If the internal polling that Obama see's every day is
as bad as the experts say, it explains why Obama
and his people lied thru their teeth all week about
what happened in Libya. The truth makes Obama
look weak and stupid. But the truth came out anyway
and Obama looks, well, weak and stupid. Big surprise.

You have achieved a factor of BS that is incalculable.
Quote: SOOPOOI would surmise that Romney will win our WoV straw poll, as most who are bright enough to participate in a gambling forum, and have disposable income, likely have jobs. Paco can probably help me, but if only those with jobs were allowed to vote I believe that the election would be a landslide for any Republican candidate.
I'm not so sure... Older retired people vote, and they vote Republican... I think it might balance out the younger unemployed who don't vote at as a high a percentage anyway.
Isn't that the same reason that most blacks will vote for Obama?
If you would like to make the argument that Alan Keyes was a white guy, sure, why not.Quote: MakingBookIsn't that the same reason that most blacks will vote for Obama?
Quote: duffytootxYes .... damn the Constitutional term limits. He's the most respected man in the world (even despite his little discretion, which we would have all done,) and he would win in a landslide. The USA was never better than when it was guided by Clinton.
Lewinsky? I'm afraid I don't agree with the, "We would have all," part, but Amen to the rest of your post!
I don't believe I've come across your face before...
Quote: SoulChaserI'm still not even sure how he's eligible to run this country. I still say good ol Muslim Hussein was born in Kenya
Thats nice for you. Meanwhile on planet Evidence...
Our country doesn't work without middle class job opportunities for a lot of hard working people that need to be employed because they don't have wherewithal or the risk taking apptitude or whatever to be self employed. The big problem is the answer to that question used to be manufacturing jobs. With 1 Billion people across the Pacific for which the pure laborer has no particular advantage over, this presents a real problem. When there are lots of folks around the world that can do your physical labor type job for less money, you standard of living is going to erode. That is what is happening now.
We can't force private companies to manufacture here in the US when it cost more to do so. We need to find another solution to employ these so called "average americans"....those without a college degree, who simply want a chance to go to work and earn a living. I don't have an answer to this issue, but I will tell you that if we don't come up with a solution, we are going to tax and spend away this country over the next 10 to 20 years and our kids are going to label us the "Generation That Destroyed America".
I am betting that Romney, a smart business guy with clearly a charitable heart ($4 Million dollars to charity.......I don't care how much you make, that is a lot of money to voluntarily give away) has a better plan that the private sector will embrace and begin to hire average Americans again. That is what we need and we need it now.
I just don't know how you can veto a project like the Pipeline that will create 1000's of average jobs in the US and help us gain energy independence. You are worried about the environment at a time like this? To me the Energy Industry is the place we can create a lot of these jobs......the natural gas we have discovered in the US in the last 5 years is unbelievable. How many jobs would be created if we set a plan in place for Nat Gas vehicles to become the next hybrid vehicle. We would need NG filling stations across the US, more Nat Gas Pipelines built across the US, less reliance on imported Mid East Oil, jobs that can't be filled by Chinese laborers.....it seems like such a no brainer, but I don't see either candidate getting strongly behind Nat Gas.
Instead it is the politically correct "Energy from all sources". BS....if it doesn't work economically, people aren't going to support it in mass. Solar may be economically viable in time, wind may be economically viable in time and some will chose to put them in place right now because of non-economic issues, that is fine, but don't keep giving them all tax credits.....trust me they would do it anyways because they aren't doing it for the economic reasons to begin with.
shows last week, lying about what really happened
in Libya. Everything she said was a lie. If this was
Bush, the Senate would be calling for impeachment.
But because its a Dem, and we all know they always
lie, the press is stifling a big yawn. 4 more years of
utter incompetence like this? Yeah, thats what we need.
