Wow, that is great. Here's another great piece from her: The Lark Ascending. Have you ever seen her live?

My favorite violin piece in Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto.

"Lark" unbelievable... To me she is the "Vladimir Horowitz" of the Violin. Such a sweet, seemingly effortless, colorful, sound. I do hope to see her play one day.

Thanks.
(missed out on seeing Horowitz live)

I never pass up a chance to see classical music live. I saw every performance of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra this season, and when they weren't playing, I went to some smaller regional orchestras and operas/ballets. I don't care who it is, as long as it's live. The DSO hit it out of the park every single time. They are an amazing ensemble. Saw some good operas, too. My favorite was Turandot, which I had never seen before.

If people went to more classical concerts, they'd see that it beats the pants off of a rock show for usually a fraction of the price. Hmm...somebody who has studied violin/oboe/trombone/cello their whole life and is an absolute master of the sound, or someone who can play a power chord on the guitar nineteen times in a row .... choice?

If you feel that way about "absolute Masters of the sound" find all the Vladimir Horowitz music you can and compare to other pianist and you'll find ,like i have that he was not only the greatest of all pianists but the greatest of musicians.

He played in colors like no other. His touch of/on the keys was unsurpassed. There are many greats but to me and, I'm sure many others, he was a gift to mankind.

If you read enough about him you'll find that one once said of him:

"If a man were born deaf and was granted by a special dispensation 30 minutes of hearing, he would be best served if he spent the whole 30 minutes listening to Horowitz"

Horowitz in Moscow & Horowitz The Last Recording

On the latter was his unbeliveable version of Isoldes and Liebestods from Tristan & Isoldes. No one has or will top his version of this masterpiece as he did here, and 3 days before he died. It was his final gift to lovers of music and lovers of him as well.

you will also want to hear his Consolation #3 from the "Horowitz plays Liszt' recording.

And from the same recording above the "Sonata in B minor' by Liszt- 30 minutes long and --"Bombastic" at times-- his version of this piece proves beyond doubt his total dedication to perfection.

if you haven't spent any real time listening to him-you're in for a great ride....of course I am especially fond of Piano. grew up hearing my grandmother play each night.
