Bottom - line my 2008 version is corrupt.

When the word 'corrupt' is used to describe software, it generally means that it became changed between the version that was written and the version that reached your computer. With 21st Century disks and internet connectivity, such corruption is rare because of something called a checksum. If there is anything wrong with your game, it will be that the algorithm is not a true representation of the game of BlackJack. That would be down to sloppy or careless programming, which is very, very common.

Unless the game asserts on it's packaging that it gives a faithful reproduction of real life BlackJack, then you have no gripe.

Go and complain about something that matters, to someone who can make a difference to improve the world.

So NOW you think you've figured ME and others out - WOW! Another entity I have disdain for, maybe you should ponder this little quote below

"The only things worth learning are the things you learn after you know it all"

- Harry S Truman -

FYI There's no period after his initial (S) because he didn't really have a middle name.

Another item you are wrong on. Both Harry S. Truman and correct writing techniques put a period after the "S". Middle initials receive a period even if they don't stand for anything.

Here's his own signature...

SOO! you're ok with this game being corrupt because it's not real money? As I said above I despise cheaters, how come you can't understand that?

Games are, by the definition I am familiar with, "fun ways to waste time".

If you don't find it fun, don't waste your time on it.

Otherwise, consider it to be educational software, giving any who use it the opportunity to learn that the house always wins.
May the cards fall in your favor.

Thanks again for your input - it really surprises me how long this topic/thread has gone on. BTW I live 100 miles from Reno. I used to enjoy going to Reno and playing BJ - NOT anymore. FYI The current administration and its leaders are SO deceitful and corrupt - therefore I'll make my own personal improvements.

This explains why you're unreasonably upset about buggy software from last decade. Engineering philosophy in the 60s was more often "build to last." These days it's "minimum viable product" and "planned obsolescence."

Point is, there's no point in being upset about software (or hardware) that's long past its end-of-life. That's like being upset about not having 802.11ac drivers for your Apple IIgs.

BTW I'm NOT wrong (check-out the 2 bolded areas below)

Why is there no period after "S" in Truman's middle name?

In Truman's autobiography, he stated, "My Grandfather Truman's name was Anderson Shipp Truman and my Grandfather Young's name was Solomon Young, so I received the S for both of them." He once joked that the S was a name, not an initial, and it should not have a period. The park service does not use a period. However many official documents and his presidential library all use a period. Both are correct.

You forgot to bold the part where he said he was joking about not using a period.

And since he used a period, that's the way to spell it. His choice. You don't call Mohammed Ali Cassius Clay do you?

I haven't played my Encore game of BJ in awhile,SO.

I started playing this morning a little after 6 am Saturday morning (10/24/2015). I decided to keep track of how many BJ's/21 the dealer got in the course of my playing time --- The dealer collectedly pulled 21 over 100 times -- WOW! every single time the dealer had a deuce showing they got a 21 hand - WOW! I live 100 miles from Reno, I used to enjoy going to Reno occasionally and, playing BJ. Those days are OVER.

I contend this game maker (i.e.,Encore) has programmed the game of Black Jack - therefore deceiving potential buyers into thinking their buying a legitimate game of BJ. I've played this game for hours upon hours and, there's NO doubt whatsoever the powers that be (computer programmers) have corrupted this game. IMO Encore should be forthright and label their games IE these games have been programmed (wishful thinking I suppose). I despise the deception of Encore -- I am determined to inform others about this deceitful game maker of Black Jack (Encore). Here are a few of the issues I have with Encores version of BJ. BTW I got this game as a gift sometime ago so I can't get a refund.

1. Dealer hits 21, 9 times out of 10 when said player has 20 (dealer gets 21 whenever player has 21 way to often)!
2. Dealer push hands are unbelievable (repeatedly every playing session)
3. Dealer hits BJ every time player raises their bet.
4. Dealer gets 20 practically 75-80 % of the time.

In all of your supposed conclusions you still haven't gotten the point of my qualm -- I DESPISE cheaters and that includes Encore the maker of many games like the one I foolishly play i.e., just TO see if I can win occasionally. IMO if said game maker (s) can't make legitimate games like the aforementioned -- then they shouldn't be in business...period!

I decided to play BJ i.e., on my corrupt Encore game

I also decided to keep track of my play for 30 minutes - in that 30 minutes the dealer had the following:

1. 8 BJ hands
2. 11 21 hands
3. 9 push hands
4. dealer hits BJ/21 whenever I have a 20 hand or raise my bet (frequently and often)

Bottom-line this game maker is deceitful - of course I could just STOP playing. But, that isn't going to resolve my underlying issue with this game maker. DON'T buy this crooked game.

What will resolve your underlying issue with this game maker? You've been complaining about this for almost a year and you didn't spend a dime on the software. You got it as a gift.

Does the person who gave you the gift know how much you hate it?

You know there are lots of online sites where you can play blackjack for free, right? Go play there.
