General discussion.

NOTE:
I know it is due towards gamblers fallacy - but this topic is not about that subject.
Nothing is due and the house edge will manifest - but this topic is not about that subject.

The subject is about what you would play if your life depends on it or the subject is about what would you play to have a good camouflage collecting data or physical parameters for a wheel or the subject is about that you want to look like Average Joe with a different agenda.

Well i guess you get the point so now to my question.

How would you play one number only - roulette ...
I read that some players among the advantage community use the RWD to get time to pass by - also read that some poker player use it.
It is a method by Roy Ward Dickson who wrote a book with the name 'How to win at roulette and blackjack'.

I just give the method a raw summary - track 30 trails and wait for number that has not have a show to show.
When they do they should repeat and show again, twice.
Now the number is hot and you can attack for certain amount of attempts - playing in cycles ...

I only read success stories or that they are up overall and never hear any one tank using it.
Hot or could numbers should be the same shit no matter of few or many numbers you play :-)

If you know RWD feel free to comment or if you have another favorite feel free to elaborate about the subject.
I hope this topic is smooth to read and follow as i use spell checker :-)
AP - It's not that it can't be done, but rather people don't really have a clue as to the level of fanaticism and outright obsession that it takes to be successful, let alone get to the level where you can take money out of the casinos on a regular basis. Out of 1,000 people that earnestly try, maybe only one will make it.

Black 10. That's my number and I'm sticking to it.

My coworker's number is Black 17. I imagine she would play that.

As far as clocking the wheel, I would look at my watch, and at 10:10:10 I would play 10, since it's more likely to hit when all the 10s are aligned...

Or not...

I'll be the first... I wouldn't play roulette.... Picking a number as you describe is the same as picking any different number.... Blah, Blah, Blah.... you lose 5+ % on every bet no matter how you chose a number... blah, blah, blah... A number is only hot or cold in retrospect.... You can never 'attack' in roulette....

Anyone who actually writes a book on "How to win at roulette" should be in jail.....

If a person plays Roulette 4 times, wins 3 times and never plays again in their lives:

How did the House Edge affect them?

Was it dumb for them to play Roulette?

I play negative expectation games in casinos all the time. I don't consider myself dumb. The house edge is an average over time, I have no idea how the house edge affected that player.... I only consider a gambler 'dumb' if they are unaware of the general odds of the game they are playing. If you love rooting for your birthdate and want to continuously bet on it, more power to you. You cross over to the 'dumb' side when you think your birthdate will hit a disproportionate amount of the time, and will continue to think so....

You can look like anything you want... as long as its not crowded you can sit there just writing down results or writing results and betting occasionally. It makes no difference to the casino.

>How would you play one number only - roulette ...
Depends entirely on whimsy, alcohol and the availability of female companionship. Sort of like any man's betting pattern at any game.

>a raw summary - track 30 trials and wait for a number that has not yet shown to show twice.
> it is now deemed a hot number
NO NUMBER IS EVER HOT .... and NO NUMBER IS EVER COLD.
If you define the newly repeating number as "hot" ... that means that another number which is no longer hitting has gone "cold"... what stops your newly hot number from suddenly going cold? Nothing at all.

If you don't mind 5.26 percent against you... play roulette in any manner that you wish.
I prefer Outside bets. Others, mindful of the house edge, prefer a straight up bet.

Noticed that recently. Photos of pretty girls are diminishing; personal attacks are increasing. Did someone wave a red flag? Or is this the behavior that results from having seen a Hawaiian Shirt?

I would imagine that instead of trying to guess which number will "win" it might be better to simply bet on as many of them as possible and take your chances that it will not be the few uncovered numbers. Of course most numbers therefore lose but the bettor, if lucky, gets a very small return on the one that wins. There is little to be gained this way, the few uncovered numbers and the two greens always lurk menacingly.

So might as well try to guess RIGHT and take the full reward of a straight up payout. Do it seventeen times in succession and retire.

firstly, never play roulette on an american wheel if you are going to be playing inside bets.
play european wheel and you lower your house edge from 5.26% to 2.70% inside.
secondly, play on the outside on a wheel offering "en prison" or partage.
you lower your disadvantage from 2.70% to 1.35%

anything else anyone tells you about roulette will just cost you money in the long run.

if you really want to play a hot number
go to the high limit room,
divide the "ways to a number" limit by forty and
tell the croupier you want "17 to the maximum"
also known as "17 full complete"
(betting an inside number in the second column
that is surrounded on all sides will cover nine numbers).

1 chip Straight-Up 17
2 chips Split 17, 14
2 chips Split 17, 16
2 chips Split 17, 18
2 chips Split 17, 20
3 chips Street 17, 16, 18
4 chips Corner 17, 16, 13, 14
4 chips Corner 17, 18, 14, 15
4 chips Corner 17, 16, 19, 20
4 chips Corner 17, 18, 20, 21
6 chips Six Line 17, 16, 18, 13, 14, 15
6 chips Six Line 17, 16, 18, 19, 20, 21

Total Bet: 40 chips
Total Payout on 17: 392 chips + your original 40

Payout on 13: 62 chips + 16 original =78
Payout on 14: 128 chips + 16 original =144
Payout on 15: 62 chips + 10 original =72
Payout on 16: 169 chips + 25 original =194
Payout on 17: 392 chips + 40 original = 432
Payout on 18: 169 chips + 25 original =194
Payout on 19: 62 chips + 10 original =72
Payout on 20: 128 chips + 16 original =144
Payout on 21: 62 chips + 16 original =78

Nice reply and sound risky ... this two posts is off-topic as we speak of betting only one number.

I find out using Keyser previous five with out repeats and with neighbors is the main threshold to capture wheels main fluctuation towards hot numbers with out having a slight bias.
It does not reduce the house edge and it can alternate if not being careful - i have not try it out yet - but simulation looks good flat betting 300 trails session following a certain algorithm.

Statistical propensity and diminishing probability generate +222 +189 +45 and so on - pretty cool

well if i can't have my number "to the maximum" i would go with 18 red.
i usually only play red, even, or low outside bets.
so inside, that only leaves me 12, 14, 16, 18 which meet all three criteria.
since my birthday is 18 i would definitely go with that.
it's always hot.

"it's always hot"

If that was true then we would not have to worry about fluctuation ... or that a number can sleep for 400 to 700 trails ...
Witch make that numbers that have a show or being present are more likely to hit again - but again that is gamblers fallacy as the wheel has 37 or 38 degree of freedom.

i am just saying, there are certain numbers that i see all the time.
like many roulette players, or people in general
i take note of the appearance of the numbers
that i like or that have significance to my life...

23 my sisters birthday
24 my mothers birthday
12 my partners birthday
8 my favorite number
9 the size of my...

you get the idea.
the point is, as soon as you notice a number is hot, it might not be.
the same way that a cold number can and will hit and hit again.
life is too short to unlock some mystery to roulette.
study all of the betting patterns and probabilities that you can and be informed.
make smart bets and do not just throw chips all over the layout.
you will be much closer to the house edge than any of the 99% of casual players
but you will still be close to the house edge.

IF you are at a wheel with 38 slots, each one is of equal significance whether it is liked by you or happens to have any particular significance to your anatomy. Its the numbers that have significance to your wallet that count and that is 5.26.

i am just saying that , anyone who "notices" a pattern is probably imagining it.
that five casual observers will most likely notice different "hot" numbers.
and a wheel tracker will be surprised to learn that the casinos track the numbers
and at the slightest hint of bias, rebalance or relocate the wheels.
for the most part i only play outside bets on a european wheel (1.35%)
with occasional inside numbers on a european wheel ( 2.7%)
and once in a while, outside bets on an american wheel in atlantic city (2.63%).

Good advice, please tell my local roulette wheel owner to install a European Wheel and to adopt en prison.

Why the high limit room?

I haven't played roulette in years, but my recollection is that on a $5 table you can scatter $1 chips all over the place, so long as you have at least $5 total on inside numbers if you're betting inside and at least $5 on each outside wager you place. Is that not the way it is played now?

The best way is to look for a biased wheel. In 38 spins all 36 numbers and 0 and 00 should all show up. The blacks and reds should each show up 18 times. Any deviation and you are obviously looking at a biased wheel. PM me to know how to take advantage of a
biased wheel. And yes, I do accept Paypal .

"The subject is about what you would play if your life depends on it" >>> I'm not sure what all of your rules would be for this, not to mention, how much time a person would have to devote to it?

Anyways, I would use a 130 step progression while keeping track of every hit number. I would find the furthest back hit number. We'll say its the #35. I would then WAIT until the 35 hit. After it hits, I would start my 130 step progression on it, all the while, continue tracking every hit number, that information will be used for our next bet. The logic (IMO)? That the SAME number would NOT be a back to back sleeper.

Welcome back, Ken. If i understand you, you will be waiting a minimum of 260+ spins before you would select a number? Given the parameters of the challenge, I believe that is an excellent idea. During all those spins you could be thinking of an escape plan since 'your life depended on it'.

(lol), I really didn't read all of the post. Is that part of the challenge? First, we are looking at the furthest back hit. Geez, that could be around 200 spins right there. Then we wait until its hit, 1-? more spins, it might be another 100? Then the 130 step progression starts. I have played this many times on RE but ya only go home with like $50. (too funny). It wins BUT your time just aint worth the profit.
