I was at Mohegan Sun (Connecticut) this past Saturday night playing BJ. It was about 1:00am and there were five people at my table, including me. The woman at first base was betting between $100 and $200 a hand, the woman at third was playing two hands at $50 each and the rest of us were playing the table minimum of $25. There was very little talking at our table, everyone was pretty much fighting just to break even except the woman at first base, who was steadily growing her pile of green and blacks. After the third or fourth shoe the woman at third base said, to no one in particular, that she was happy to see everyone playing perfect basic strategy. Just as she said this with everyone agreeing with her, the guy to my left took a hit on a 13 with the dealer showing a 6. Everyone at the table collectively reacted to his motion to hit with some audible sound. Not that we were telling him how to play his game, but we were all surprised at his action to take a hit because it went against how he was consistently playing.
Now let me stop here for a moment. It really bothered me that a table that has been so consistently playing BS that the dealer didn’t take a second to ask the player if he was sure he wanted to take the hit. I have been at countless tables where a dealer would confirm the action the player was requesting, especially when that action deviated from basic strategy. I’ve even seen dealers go so far as to help explain BS to players that aren’t sure what to do. This dealer didn’t even hesitate to hit the players 13 vs. the dealer 6. And in fairness to the player, he had been generously tipping the dealer throughout his play.

Getting back to the action - the player pulled a 5 but was lost for a second as to why everyone reacted the way we did. When I explained he took a hit on a 13 vs a 6, he was immediately embarrassed and very apologetic to the whole table. He was genuinely concerned that he may have taken the dealers bust card. The woman at first base had the most to potentially lose ($400) because she had a $200 bet and doubled on an 11 and received a 3. The strategy for the rest of the table would have been to stay with the two cards we were dealt. So now the dealer turned over a K to make a 16, then takes a 9 to bust and pay out the table. Turns out the deviation from the strategy saved the table. The woman at first was so grateful that she tossed over a green to the guy who took the “errant” hit as a tip for “saving” the table. After a few minutes of I don’t want it…no take it….the guy took the money.

The only other time I saw a player give money to another player was at a $5 minimum table I was playing about five years ago off strip at the Orleans. This woman sat down with a buy in of $50 and lost it all in a matter of minutes. As she got up to leave, this one guy at the table who was intoxicated beyond words told her she can’t leave because she is the hottest thing he has ever seen. Truth be told, she was beautiful. She said she lost enough money that night, so he took about $30 of his own chips and told her to stay and play. She thought about it for half a second and then sat back down to play. Unfortunately that seat was consistently dealt losing hands and she soon enough lost the $30 and went on her way.

So my question is has anyone ever received or given money to another player at their table? If so, what were the circumstances?

Yes:
a) I was once tipped $100 by a cowboy at the Gold Coast (during rodeo week) when I shot a hard 4 that he had a lot of money on.
b) A long time ago at the MGM, I once staked another shooter $5 to keep shooting his hot hand when he busted out. He wasn't betting numbers but had rolled a lot of them; unfortunately (for him) he also rolled a lot of craps. So after trying to make a 4 for about 15 minutes, he made it but then rolled 3 or 4 crap rolls in a row and was out of money. I gave him another line bet, whereupon he kept going for another 10 minutes. I made an extra $500 or so before he finally 7ed out.

I played at the LV Trop right after the remodel. $25 BJ, me at the minimum, guy next to me at the maximum. After 5 minutes or so, he asked if he could bet to bring my bet up to the max (I don't know why he didn't just play two hands - we were the only people there). Every time I/we won, he tipped me $50. Over the course of an hour, I made much more from the tips than i did from the base play. Never seen anything like that before or since...

over the course of my casino career (1984-now)
i have received money at craps, roulette, and baccarat..

craps: $10 minimum.i was halfway through my buy-in
playing passline with double odds, come bets w/ odds and placing 6/8, 5/9.
the guy next to me and i had been talking and commenting on the game.
he was playing the same bets but w/ green on the line and black on odds.
i got on a monster roll and he was pulling down $150 - $225 per roll.
he started throwing me 2 reds on every number i hit.
this totaled about $80. nice.

roulette:
i was playing single zero. (double zero reminds me of 6:5 blackjack- why would you play it?)
there was a really nice woman throwing varying stacks of chips all over the layout.
she bought in for $1,000 twice and was nearly out of chips.
i bought in for $500 and was ahead.
she asked what i was doing to win.
i pointed out to her that i was just betting 5 out of the six line bets
for $25 each and clearing $25 on most rolls (5:1 minus the four losers)
and betting occasionally on red, even or low and only losing half when zero came up.
she liked the method and started betting with me.
by the end of a few hours we were ahead (positive variance).
she credited me and gave me a black chip when she colored! sweet.

baccarat:
i was playing at a $50 table and i was ahead.
i was mostly betting against the table just so i could squeeze more hands.
some of the players were getting pissy about me always betting against them,
especially because i was turning over 6 or better every time.
the guy next to me was betting 1 - 10 purples each hand.
he noticed i was turning over high hands and started to bet with me.
as the high bettor, dealer would throw him the cards.
he told the dealer to throw them to me to squeeze.
i was flat betting the minimum and he was in for 1 - 5K
i got a run of naturals (8 or 9) and high hands which won.
after the shoe was empty he told me he was up $70, 000.
he said he had to meet his wife, he thanked me for bringing him good luck and
tossed me a purple chip! score!

I have been given money on more than a few occasions at the blackjack table and it can be awkward. I don't want anyone's money and I certainly don't deserve it. I tell them a couple of times that it's not necessary, they insist and I keep it. I've also been offered food, drink and other things that I always decline.

I've been paid to play my hand a certain way. There is one player who doesn't like surrender. He tells me to let him know when I'm going to do so and he'll pay me to hit. He's a high roller and he tosses me whatever I have in the betting circle before I hit the hand. He doesn't understand why I surrender on 14 all the time. In this case I cheerfully take his money.

I've been given money for every superstition that you can think of. It all comes down to "saving the table". I've also been given money for helping people with basic strategy but only basic strategy and I'll pull out a chart. The last thing you want is the pit hearing you discuss the finer points of the game. Once in a while I get lucky and they actually win. Last but not least I've been given money by a player who played "wrong" and messed up the cards.

Truth be told, I get yelled at a lot more than I'm given money. One minute you're a hero and the next minute you are a bum.
Many people, especially ignorant people, want to punish you for speaking the truth. - Mahatma Ghandi

For all the playing I do, I have never been offered or given money. I generally don't interact with players I don't know, and can get combative if other players don't like how I play, rather than backing down. So no wonder nobody likes me.

On Sex and the City there was a scene where a craps player gave Carrie a $1,000 chip for bringing him luck.

Personally, if you give a pretty girl money so that she can stay in the game, I think she should refund the initial stake if she wins. I don't think she should give you half her winnings, but she should at least refund the initial stake.

In another country that rule doesn't necessarily apply. In a small country that is how those girls make a living.

I have had a few 3-ways on craps that people were betting on me. One of them was within the past year, when I rolled a hard 8 hopping, parlayed with a Hard 8. I think I got about $50 on that (which I tipped the dealers a few bucks).

Otherwise, I've played at BJ tables where people have given me money because it's going well. It's usually not much, though I did have somebody give me $50 which I pocketed immediately.

I told a story recently about a guy playing TCP and hitting 6-card bonuses right and left (and big ones too). A guy sat down, and he immediately gave him $100 for playing. His luck went downhill, and I joked with the dealer at my table (where I was getting my A-- handed to me on PGP) that I would have given the player $100 NOT to sit down.

Many years ago (1988?) I was playing craps at the Alladin. An Asian gentleman on the far end of the table was losing big, I saw him take out two markers for $30K each. I finally got on a decent roll, and afterwards he said something in Chinese to one of his associates who was standing next to me and his associate hande me a black chip and indicated it was a gift from the high roller on the other end. As I was a red chipper at that time, this was HUGE!

I've had a number of hard ways placed for me if I was on a hot roll, usually $1 here and there. I think it's not uncommon to see players place 3 way hard way bets on a hot roll when the point is 4, 6, 8, or 10.

I've given plenty of money to dates and girlfriends to keep them invested and interested in the game. Of course there is a secondary motivation in that as well!

The wife and I were playing in the 8' washtub craps table outside at Atlantis in the Bahamas a couple years ago. I was rolling....short digression please - the table was so short that placing may be a better word - "dice control" was reaching out around the stick and dropping the dice into the other end...the table had wheels on it and it was moving around so much from everyone leaning on it that the dealers had a hard time keeping their stacks together. Everyone was drinking and the dealers were singing...loads of fun!

Anyway, we were playing the $15 minimum with pass, odds and 6/8. Whale at the other end signed for a $10k marker and he and the trophy wife were LOADING UP all across. At least a purple across and plenty of green on the hards, etc. Anyway he pressed a hard 8 after I hit it from $25 to $75 and then I hit it right away again. He threw my wife a black chip as the dealers were counting out his monster stack. She immediately pocketed it...of course.

Actually, come to think of it, I have given money, though it was to a friend...

A few years ago, I won a trip to Las Vegas via a Harrah's promotion. I was allowed one guest, so I called my best friend (a girl) and she and I went out there. She has the bladder the size of a pea (and that might be a bit big), and it would take her about 5-10 minutes to use the restroom. Before we left for Vegas, I plopped next to a slot machine to use a free play/match play type offer, and ended up winning about $80.

When we got to Vegas, I made a habit of doing this (which was quite frequent). EVERY TIME (no exaggeration) I would win at least 5-10 dollars. I would give her half of my winnings, both as a thank you and as a way to keep her with me while I was gambling (she didn't play at all, except at Circus Circus, where Basic Strategy didn't exist for her... I couldn't sit at the same table I was THAT embarrassed).

Whenever I see a railbird watching a craps game with a confused look on their face, I am always happy to explain the rules to them. When it gets around to their turn to shoot, I normally offer to place their initial (table minimum pass line) bet for them so they can have a chance to throw the dice. It normally cost me $5 or $10 and I feel that it is my public service to get new craps player so craps doesn't die out.

One day I saw an older man watching the game and I asked him if he want to join in. He stated that he didn't understand the game but it always looked like fun. So I spent about 10 minutes explaining the bets, telling him the odds and so forth. When the dice got passed to him, I placed a $10 pass line bet for him and walked him through how to throw the dice. He rolled a six, a few more numbers, and then a seven out. It was obvious that he was thrilled to throw the dice and I felt good about giving him $10.

He stood next to me asking questions and getting a feel for the game for another 15 or so minutes until the dice were sent back to him. Since he was a nice guy, I offered to put another pass line bet for him for another $10. He politely refused and said he should probably gamble with his own money.

What he did next made my jaw drop. He asked the pit staff for a marker for "a hundred" to "get his feet wet". Without skipping a beat the pit boss told the dealer to "send it" and they gave him $100,000 in chips. The older man then asked me what he should do. I had him play the pass line with full odds and since he wanted action, the come bet with full odds, always coming.

After a few hours of playing together, me with my tiny $1000 bankroll and him with bets 100X larger then mine, we were both down a bit, but he sure had a good time. The man offered to make me out to dinner with his wife and family, and I accepted. Turns out that he owned fast food restaurants and had over 120 franchises ranging from McDonalds to Subway to Pizza Hut. He said everyone's got to eat and eat cheap. Fortunately, we didn't eat at McDonalds but rather at a nice Italian restaurant at the hotel. I am sure that it was comped.

While I never expect anything in return for teaching someone how to play craps, that one story made it all worth while.

Jeff, that's a great story! I really enjoyed it.

Twice I've had other players insist I take money. Once was when I was the other player at a table where a guy won $50000 on the Let It Ride Bonus bet (royal flush), he gave me $100. The other time, I was having a lot of fun playing 3 Card Poker with some Asian ladies, and we were whooping it up, and then one insisted on placing my bet for me "for luck". I couldn't turn it down, I didn't want to change her luck. But it made me uncomfortable.

Awesome story.

I have actually tipped shooters at the craps table on two occasions if they are hitting tons of come numbers but not many passes (and they're only betting pass line) and I'm making out like a bandit, by offering to place their odds. I've never been tipped as my best roll ever was four quick passes and usually seven out pretty quickly.

Whenever a player helps me complete a parlayed hardway; I always give a tip directly to the player...usually about $10 each hit. So if I parlay a $1 Hard 8 to $10, I tip the player $10 for each successive hit on the same hardway. I LOVE tipping players; it gets them excited. I tipped a player $30 a few weeks ago when he hit 4 Hard 8's in 6 rolls turning my $1 Hard 8 to a $270 payout.

I also like getting tipped though I never request them. At the Rivers Casino (Chicago) last fall...I threw about 12 Horns in a few minutes of one of my rolls; two players won an estimated $3,000 and $4,000 each on my 5 minute roll; they both gave me $100 each as a tip.

Jeff -
GREAT story. That story could be your entry in the "karma" thread.

---

I was shooting, betting the minimum and setting the dice - even though I didn't have a good delivery.

This guy steps up out of nowhere, right next to me, and puts down $600 each on the hard 6 and 8.

I roll a soft 6. I'm happy, because I place the numbers, but feel bad for this guy. He replaces the bet with $700.

All the while, he's being a loud-mouth, making sure everyone knows that after this, he's heading up to his room to "take care of business."

I roll a soft 8. He pust up $800.

As I'm setting the dice, he says, "Just pick 'em up and throw."

So I do it. And because he's so obnoxious, I'm almost hoping for a 7.

Hard 8!

He takes his bets down and his winnings, gives me $25 and leaves.

I was playing craps one time...another guy at the table was getting kicked around pretty good, but I tossed boxcars 2 or 3 times in a row to get him back in the game (I think he was betting $5 on it). He threw me a $5 chip for that. Once or twice I've had a craps player bet for me when I was in the middle of a long roll, but the bets didn't come through (think they were hardways bets).

I once got thrown a couple of red chips after a super-long roll at craps. I think it was because I was consistently betting small but the other player was colouring up to blacks at the end of it.

I also witnessed a couple of unusual chip giveaways:

A friend of mine used to regularly bet up to $1000 per hand at mini-baccarat. One day he was doing OK while playing with a bunch of older Chinese players, but they weren't doing so well and were starting to leave the table. Apparently he didn't want to play on alone, and gave everyone at the table a black chip [hoping they would stay]. Most of them seemed confused, some possibly offended. They were all talking in Cantonese [which is normal] and I was informed by another friend that this is what was said:
"Why is that guy giving us $100?"
"Who knows? Maybe he's crazy, just take it."

Later on this friend was barred from the casino for making bets with another player's chips. By this time he had literally lost all of his money (we were powerless to dissuade him from playing), but he still turned up to sit at the baccarat tables wanting to be part of the action. He alleges that the other player was a friend who had allowed him to bet for him while he went to the bathroom. I think the casino just needed a reason to bar him, since he clearly had no more money.

The second occasion was similar. In New Zealand, card counting cannot result in barring. One player was well known for openly counting, and would play $50 to $2500 per hand, on up to 7 hands. The casino obviously wasn't happy, but counting alone was not reason enough to ban him. They tried moving the cut card so that less than 5 decks were dealt from an 8 deck shoe, but he managed to carry on. Eventually they got him banned for "stealing another player's chip".
The story goes that a black chip player accidentally spilled a drink on him. He suggested a payment of one black chip to cover the drycleaning bill for his suit, and then he either took or was given one black chip. Either way, he was banned for this and not seen again. A $100 chip was small change to him, so it is unlikely he would have stolen it. All of the blackjack tables are now dealt from shuffle machines so his time would have come anyway. He later appeared on a primetime TV current affairs show, in a popular story of how the casino "banned him for winning".
If nothing will change then I am nothing.

My one incident is relatively boring, especially after reading Juyemura's story. I was at a pai gow poker table with one other player there. I was betting the $25 minimum; he was betting $500 to $1000 a hand. The casino I was at offered the dragon hand which the higher-roller was frequently playing, for the same bet as his primary hand. On a whim, I decided to play it one hand since I had first dibs, so I did (for $25). It lost. The high roller then tossed me a green chip to thank me for playing it since he was going to if I didn't, therefore I "saved him" $500 or $1000. Hindsight is 20/20, but it would have been a good advantage play to always play the dragon hand if he was going to reimburse me every time it lost.

One thing that always made me feel uncomfortable is a situation like this: I'm playing pai gow tiles, betting $25 a hand, and getting all the winning hands, while the wealthy Asians at the table are betting $1000 or more and keep losing. After I place my measly $25 bet for the next round, someone will back-bet on my hand for $500 or $1000. Although it made me uncomfortable, nobody ever seemed to have a problem because I would usually ask "Are you sure? I don't play the house way." and they would insist.

Never taken money myself, but I have been offered a red a few times for "saving the table" in blackjack.

Two stories, though nothing interesting compared to the others on here.

There was an obnoxiously drunk Asian gentleman who appeared to be a regular as he was throwing quite colorful jabs left and right with the floor supervisor about each other's wifes. The obnoxious guy kept telling this guy who was betting 25 to "make some really money bets", which I thought was ironic because the guy was just standing over the table watching and laughing obnoxiously. Finally the guy gave in and made a $300 bet, and from the looks of it he only had 400 or 500 on the table. He was dealt a blackjack, then bet it again and won with a 20 vs. at 18. So he made a quick 750 and gave the guy a green, I think more to shut him up than anything.

Another time I was playing craps at a table with a high roller, who had about 20k in purples and had a couple thousand on the felt on any given roll. There was a young kid with his girlfriend and he was betting 5 dollars on the do not pass every time with no odds. He only had about 40 dollars, and the high roller yelled to him "Take your F'ing don't pass down. You win and lose with the table", and threw him 2 greens. The high roller was quite obnoxious the whole time I played, but with that kind of action the box didn't care. The kid ended up busting out anyways, but I thought it was interesting. I saw later saw one of the dealers who I am friendly with walking to break and made a comment to him. The dealer said that the guy was actually behaving for once that night.

Just before the Western closed my wife and I popped in to play a little craps. My wife likes $1 craps and we usually have fun at the Western. But this afternoon I am cleaning up thanks to Rolltowin55... err I mean dumb luck. But I bought in for about 40 and am now cashing somewhere near 300. Once the box is done coloring me up without looking where the dice were the box leans over to slide me my chips and the dice bank off her head drop to the table and 7 out. They don't call a no roll and the only person wiht action on the table, the shooter, is a crazy lady. I don't mean quirky I mean voices in the head crazy. She is just stunned that her $2 panhandling stack is gone. I toss her a $25 and wish her luck. While I wait at the cage my wife walks up and tells me she blew it already.

That same afternoon I throw a $5 toke to the dealers they put it on Hard 8. It hits. They press. Hits again and in amazement they press it. 1 second later I watch that stack go away.

A fool and my money are soon parted.
I have a bewitched egg that I use to play VP with and I have net over 900k with it.

I gamble a lot, so I've probably been given more chips than anyone else...
But I mean, nothing really stands out as OMG...but the ONE time I did the unthinkable (rolled dice for 104 consecutive rolls) no one gave me a DIME, and I mean people colored up in the THOUSANDS (this was a $2 table with all the usual fleas playing; no high rollers)
Most recently (probably a year ago) I was shooting on a $2 table at JANugget and one of the high(er) rollers was there..usually he bets crazily ($200 outside, $5 hard ways parlay all the way to who knows how much)...I was absolutely SMASHING hardways for him, so he starts HOPPING the hards...$25 for him ($100 total) and $5 for me ($20 total) and I hit a couple of them (each hit was $135 and UP for me)...I ended up making a few hundred dollars that night...

A guy tipped my friend playing craps at the MGM. he had $25 on aces and boxcars and my buddy four throws in a row 12, 12, 2, 12. The guy pressed it up each time and threw my buddy a $25 chip at the end. If I am at a table and everyone is getting along and friendly I have had people give me 5 or 10 so I did not have to break a $100 for a double down and I have done it for others once in a while.

I get tipped a lot on the Match the Dealer bet at Spanish 21. People love to play on each other's spot, and they often tip. I never play it myself. Got $30 last time.

The only thing I like about side bets!

Same thing with me! At the seminole coconut creek casino, the guy next to me wanted to play my bet, and I got two perfect matches in a row. I know he made several hundred bucks (at least) off of it, and he gave me a green chip.

At the Indian casinos down here, 80% of players play the side bets all the time. Most times, someone wants to play mine.

I honestly do not remember if he pressed it up 100%, 50% or some variation of those, it was a few years ago. I do know he did very very well. It is funny because after the first role I looked at my buddy and said maybe we should try those bets for the hell of it and said nah what are the chances of me rolling it again? And that was after the first 12!!!

Well, just going by "he pressed it" Usually, a press means double the bet..so I was going simply by $25 -> $50 -> $75 -> $100

Once I got a $5 tip at Spanish 21 from a guy when he left. He stiffed the dealer! I gave it to the dealer who deserved it more than me. I also received a tip (don't remember how much) from a drunk guy right after he bought in. He bought in for a weird amount ($117 or something like that) and he didn't remember what he bought in for and reminded him. He tipped the dealer.

Playing craps once and I got the dice, shooting from SR1, which I normally don't, but this guy was playing SL1 and playing hardways. He started with $3 Hard 6 and 8. First Hard 8 he parlayed to $30. Then I hit it two more times and he collected. As he left he gave me a green chip and commented "Here buy yourself a steak dinner tonight." I had played with him on the table a few times in the past and chatted with him, so he knew me, but that was pretty cool.

I've also had players make prop bets for me if I've been on a good roll, but that doesn't strike me as unusual and not really the player GIVING you money.

Back in the mid-90's just before Mohegan Sun opened, I was the new shooter at a table. I rolled a long time and made 9 points. There was a fellow at opposite end betting large 500 to TL. When I finally went 7-out I made about $1200, and found two black chips placed in front of me by the stickman. "The gentleman on the other end tips his cap". As I prepped my next pass bet someone stood next to me and said something like, that guy was down about 8500 before you rolled, and now he's up over 26 grand.

I have done likewise on a smaller scale, being down nearly 800, coming back to a nice +1100 from one shooter. I tossed 2 green his way with compliments.

Girlfriend and I were in Vegas a few weeks ago. I sat down at a bj switch table with two other couples who were already playing. There were only 5 spots so my girlfriend couldn't join in. We played together for 3 hours and the 4 of them gave us 5 bucks for our wedding fund. Also went to dinner with them and they paid with their comps. They were great people and we had a blast. I ended up golfing with the other 2 guys the next morning too.

I've also had guys buy me shots or drinks at a table too and I've bought drinks for others

One trip about 4 years ago when I was single I was winning at everything I played. I was up about 1K and my buddy and I met some chicks. I was pretty buzzed and told this girl I would split my winnings at a blackjack table with her. I cashed out up 200 and gave her 100. She couldn't believe it. Looking back I can't believe it either haha. That was a pretty dumb thing to do but she was appreciative and I was already up a lot. I definitely believe in having good karma at the tables though

Thanks for the thread and thanks for the stories.

A couple of stories. I was at the Peppermill in Reno when one gentleman offered to make $25 bets for all the players at the table (there were three others including myself). We could keep the chips we won but had to give the bet chips back. The dealer hit to 20, so she wiped out most of the table. But I had 21, so I won. I thought that was darned nice of him. The funny thing is he wasn't betting THAT big - maybe 1-5 green at a time, with a bankroll of somewhere around $1000 at that time.

The other story is from the Gold Coast. Some gentleman in a big hurry jumped me in line at the cashier. Before I could say something nasty, he slipped me a red chip. It worked.

sick brag post, but back in the early 2000's at trump taj mahal I was playing with roger king from king world and was playing baccarat at the big table, it was just him and myself at the table middle of the night and he was drunk, he insisted that I handle the shoe for about an hour, playing 25-50 per hand and 5k on the tie
he was joking and after the player hand showed natural nine he said pull me a tie kid and you have 5k- i got the natural nine for a tie and over the course of the next hour was given almost 20k- not too mention the waitress received a orange chip for every drink she brought- later that night he got thrown out for jumping onto the craps table - wish I milked that for way more at the time but back then was happy for the huge score

I remember two times I was given money, both times while I was playing the don't pass. One time I was playing DP and kept making points, to the point where I had lost all of my chips. That was the end of my bankroll for that trip and it was right before I was getting on the plane to leave, so I didn't want to buy in again. The guy to my left and I had been talking for a while (even though he was playing the right way), so he sponsored my next few rolls, where I proceeded to keep making points, so he kept tossing me a red chip to keep rolling. Finally I seven'd out and gave him back the profits from the last roll. I'm pretty sure he wound up even or ahead on the money he gave me, considering the money he made on my rolls and the reimbursement.

Second time was a high roller betting about 10x as much as me, and he dropped a black chip on the pass line for me while I was rolling and still playing the Don't. I seven'd out and collected on my bets, he lost his. He was super pissed at me, especially after losing his entire stack.

I've got a number of stories for you.

This past week I had a good streak at the craps table and made 9 points before 7ing out, 5 of them were different so I made a number of people $250-$1250 on their fire bets, let alone the money from the long roll. I got a $100 chip from one guy who probably made $7k off of my roll, $10 from someone else and $50 from a third person. I think it was because I was only really playing the pass line and only had a $1 fire bet. A guy standing next to me said if I sevened out on a 4-point he would 'buy me back in' for $100 on my $30 bet. I told him okay, but I don't bet against myself. He bet $200 that I would seven out and I immediately rolled a hard 4. This happened again with the next point which was 5. His loss, but everyone around us at the table absolutely loved this!

The first time I received any real money I was scoping out the blackjack tables with a meesly $60 to bet. There were a few free seats at a $25 Blackjack table where some gentleman were playing $200-500/hand. He gave me a black chip to sit down and play with them. I had a blast and won a lot of money on this $100, getting black jack several times and pocketing the winnings. I tried to give him $50 of his buy in back and he would not accept it since we were all having a good time together. He was determined to gamble all of his money and ended up doubling up his bet until he lost $2000 on one hand. He didn't seem to mind at all so I gladly pocketed all my winnings.

A few days later I was playing craps and was down to about $40 off of $300. It was about 11 in the morning and there was this loud, obnoxious guy (literally) throwing a bunch of money around. He was standing next to a friendly guy, Andrew, I had been chatting with around the tables the previous two days. So I went and stood between the two and the guy throwing money around (Mr. Moneybags) started picking up my $15 Pass Line bets and putting down $25 bets for me. I told him he absolutely didn't have to and I had a bit of money to gamble with, but he had about $700 out on the table every roll in addition to several grand in front of him, and insisted I play with green. He started buying me drinks, excited to have a woman to drink with at 11 in the morning. The table was hot and he was tipping all the good shooters anywhere from $10 to $100. I started pocketing some of my passline winnings so I only had red and white in front of me, and he stopped making the $25 bet for me and started adding to my odds bet. I told him he was crazy but he kept doing it. It was $25, $50 to begin and then a few times he would drop a $100 chip behind my stack. I told him I didn't have the means to pay him back, and appreciated his generosity. He was making money so he didn't mind.
He then made a $5 fire bet for me and my friend Andrew started rolling. The point was 9 and Andrew was rolling hard ways time after time, so Mr. Moneybags next to me started short ordering the rolls and making hundreds of dollars every other roll. He then looks at me and says I'm his good luck charm and he's going to loan me $500 for my odds bet. I protest wildly, I'm not accepting that kind of money from anyone and I'm certainly not paying him back if it loses. He drops a pink chip on my odds stack and sure enough Andrew rolls a 9! I give him the $500 chip back and take the winnings, he tips Andrew at the end of his roll after making 5 different points, we all won $1250 from the fire bets. So needless to say I'm ready to get the f out of there with about 10x my starting bankroll, but it's my turn to roll. Since he's tipping the shooters, I decide to give it a shot and make my minimum bet. I end up getting tipped from Mr. Moneybags another $300 for making a hard 6 and a hard 8 twice in a row, and $100 at the end of my roll! I think I got 3 or 4 points before sevening out, thanked him for his generosity and wished him luck. That was nearly a life changing amount of money for me, but the $15,000+ or so I saw him make (hundreds of dollars on hardways!) didn't seem to phase him at all. Easily his generosity coupled with a hot table was one of the best things that happened to me in a very long time. :D

Oh, forgot to mention a young couple gathered around us during the commotion and I was so happy that I had won, I put down a pass line bet for them with some odds and it won. :D I think the girl was as happy to win $45 as I was to win $4 grand.

A few other men have thought I was good luck and I always cheer for everyone at the table so I have had some people make bets for me $1-5 on Yo or the hardways or some other proposition bets. When the bets win ($75 the other day!) I try to give back the original bet or I will make a bet for them.

I was once killing time playing a penny slot one cent at a time - this drove the guy next to me crazy, and he handed me ten dollars on the condition I'd play 30¢ for the jackpot. It's the only time in my life I've wound up ahead (by $6, not counting the ten) playing multiple lines.

I've received a couple of $10 tips on the craps table, and a $25 tip.
But the one I remember the most was at Beau Rivage. I threw a hard 10, and the player 3 to my right had $500 on all four hardways.
He pressed his hard 10 bet to $600, then added $100 for the boys, and $100 for the shooter. Then he threw me another $100 chip.
I've never wanted to throw 5-5 back to back as much as I did then, but it didn't work.

Last weekend when the shooter had a 40 min roll, I was pressing my Buy 10. When he hit my $200 bet, I gave him $5.
I pressed it to $500 and when he hit that bet, I gave him $25 as I collected my $1000.
I pressed it to $1000, and when he hit that bet, I threw him $100, as I collected my $2000.

Ironically, the longest roll I have had was 1 hour and 10 minutes, and I don't recall having received any tips. I may have received one, but I am not remembering it.
I know I posted about that roll though. I will have to try and find the post to see if I got tipped.

I'm at McCarran, waiting to leave town....

I had several good rolls this week.

On my first night, at Fiesta Henderson, with PaiGowDan watching/working.....

I got the dice after dropping about $170 of my $200 buy in. I rolled a number, set up my odds and place bets, and my rail was empty. During my roll, Dan moved over to work next to me, then went on break. That's right. I rolled thru two dealer rotations. I had nearly $500 in the rail and a black chip player threw me two greens.

Then, today, at around 4am at 4 Queens, I just wanted to get a couple souvenir chips. I turned $100 into $350 and got a green chip tip.
