Here's something that really makes quitting my current job difficult. I went to the casino, the competitor, to play. It's about an hour drive. I met up with a few of my fellow dealers. There's a particular craps player that plays a lot where we work. He's a nice guy, has pretty big action (for our casino anyway) and all the craps dealers know him. He was in there playing, and I guess he frequents both, because he had enough COMP to get all five of us and himself a free buffet.

Seemed totally crazy that we all ate dinner together, and I'm starting to wonder if he plays because he's lonely. He always talks about his kids and grandkids, but I've never heard him mention a wife. He''s in his 50's I would guess, so I'm thinking he had a great career, obviously made good money, now retired, and possibly a widower... at the very least he must be divorced.

Why does this make you difficult to leave your job? The free buffet?

Good one, BM, that was my thought too.

Well it's not the buffet, it's just the idea that I've been there long enough that there's a player that wants to buy us buffets.
