At least I think I have a while to go before I slip to number 4.

You could count to 400 one post at a time also!

I've posted on another board fairly regularly since 2002, and I only have just under 8000 posts still.
There's no secret. Just know what you're talking about before you open your mouth.

I've been meaning to ask you what happned. There we were running nose to nose, trading the elad every few days, and suddenly I shot ahead. To be sure there have been some political arguments you stayed out of (BTW that shows great wisodm), but I don't think that explains everything. Surely the Wizard, Paco and Nareed thread (aka Spanish word of the day) doesn't take up that much posting room.

I'm not sure it's wisdom that I stay out of the political discussions. More like apathy, really. On a side note, I got a survey call last night. The first question was if I'm a registered voter. I said 'No' because that kinda expected that to end the conversation. I was right. FYI: Yes, I'm registered, but when I go into the voting booth, I usually haven't got a clue.

Since I can barely count to 10 in Spanish, I ignored that thread too. That thread was pretty hot when you took over. Still is I guess.

The big lead I had over Paco was lost because I missed 6 days last week when I was on a cruise (review coming in a couple days).

And with Paco's near encyclopedic knowledge of statistics and other minutia, I kinda expected him to pass me.

Frankly, I simply wanted to make note of the fact that I slipped to #3.

It would be quite enlightening to see the average posts per day or per week of all members included on their profile page. There are members who are out posting the top five, or the Fab 5 as I'm going to dub them, but haven't been members as long.

If they stay on that pace there will be some changes to the Fab 5 list- no pressure, guys.

You're welcome. Buzz is one of the high volume posters I was referring to. Thankfully his posts are good reads.

I just wish more people would post rather than just view, They might be surprised at the knowledge they possess with being aware of it. I mean even Dan Lubin makes senses sometimes, sort of, oh well then again maybe everybody should not post. Especially if they are a frustrated old man who can not even enjoy his success at EZ Baccarat, fearful that a bJ player might actually use his brain. SIGH

It is on the count that you won't change the mind of the person you're arguing with. at elast not 99.9999999.....99999999% of the time. I could bring up the time I argued someone to switch his position to favor unrestricted abortion in the first trimester, but he was three-quarters of the way there already.

So knowing that why do I argue? Because sometimes you persuade the odd lurker. And to show disagreement as a matter of principle.

It's also wisdom because most such threads degenerate into a flame war.

Good for you. I possitively hate telephone polls and never asnwer them.

Where did you sail? 1997? :P

Oh, wait. I guess you mean you had better things to do on your cruise than posting here. That's understandable.

I'm sure Paco's knowledgeabl about suhc things. But also he's skille din retrieving information from the web quickly. I say this only because I like to think I am, too, but Paco leaves me in the dust.
