This is just a tip... for everyone... and I'm not pointing to any of our high rolling, Rolex wearing, private table playing members directly.

Look guys... casinos are open to the public like shopping malls and like Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.

There are people there to have fun and there are people there to ruin your fun.

The bad people can see who has money. Who sits in high limit. Who has private tables. Who goes to the preferred lines at the cashier.

When a pretty girl shows up unexpectedly it wasn't a gift from Heaven. It wasn't a coincidence. It was a set up.

As coaches tell NFL players all the time when they show up at Super Bowl host cities... "the girls are going to tell you they love you, love you, love you. They don't love you. They love your money."

It's the same with players in Vegas.

Two girls in slinky dresses out on their own taking photos innocently? Really? Just standing there? Not on a date. Not having dinner or in the club or walking to their own destination? They're just taking a photo?

Now if there were six or eight of them it might be a bachelorette party. But two lookers? Just two? And no guy in sight? What are they up to?

And they didnt ask you to take them to the bar. They didnt ask you to start the conversation. They didnt ask you to take them to your room. Well, surprise! They did ask you ALL of these things just by standing there and being approached by you!

Consider this. They now have information about you including your room, your name (don't say you didnt tell them your name, because even a first name can open doors as in "I'm John's wife") and whether you're traveling alone-- as in... could someone else be in the room? They also know you have a suite. Ca-ching!! And no doubt they've already seen you play.

Please dont say you have a private gambling room because even the private high roller rooms must have the doors open. Nevada is an open Gaming state. Anybody is permitted to stand and watch you play. And anybody can walk through the private gambling rooms at any casino. I've done it -- but respectfully-- just to see that it can be done.

There's a reason the high roller suites have special elevators and are on special floors. There's a reason casino doormen will call you by your first name "hello Alan" or refer to you with your initial as in "Mr M has colored up two browns" instead of saying your last name. There's a reason casinos have their own undercover cops playing high limit blackjack and craps (with casino money of course) when they have certain events attracting high limit players.

Yes... high limit events. In a public casino. And two lookers just looking innocent taking a photo and they innocently respond to you?

Gosh, cell phone cameras have replaced dropped purses spilling makeup.

It's now "take my photo" instead of "I'm so clumsy."

Did you ever notice how hot babes wear wedding bands even when they're NOT married? Those are the legitimate hot babes who dont want to be bothered.

The hot babes without a wedding ring who are alone or in pairs are trouble. And if they have VERY LITTLE JEWELRY they are a LOT of trouble.

Check out the jewelry the next time a hot babe catches your eye in a casino. The jewelry or lack of it will tell you what they really want when they're dressed up in their slinky outfits.

Thanks for sharing! Can you spell out the trouble a bit more? I'm genuinely curious and often go to Vegas so I'd like to know more about the risks!

I was a TV news reporter for most of my career. There were plenty of crimes that were kept quiet for PR reasons. The robberies in Vegas aren't limited to what happens on the bridges over the Boulevard at 4 in the morning.

I can safely that in the 25-ish years I've been going to Vegas I've never even remotely had a problem with "hot babes."

Which casinos? My only complaint about Vegas is I don't get approached by hookers enough

Last time I was in Vegas which has been a mi utes I was at rio. Got approached by 3 different Asian ladies. One was in the elevator I got on. She asked me what floor I was staying on and what was I going to do rest of night in my lonely hotel room lol

not referring to you personally, but reporters - both TV and print have failed miserably when it comes to corruption

in general, they were only able to do stories if they got tips from law enforcement - there are a few, but very few exceptions

and there was and probably is now a great deal of corruption within law enforcement

the public has a right to know - but there are so many, many things the public never did know - or never will know - it's a crying shame

Are you looking for good cruise spots? Or spots where they'll come up to you?

From my personal experience, they'll only approach you if you don't know they are coming. I.E. If you circle a casino bar, chances are, they're there. IThose hookers will never approach you. Could be they think you might be a cop, could be they are just killing time before their next appointment, or any other reason. They may even have their own 'type' and you don't fit their requirements. Whatever. You might be successful if you approach them, but I have no experience or advice on that.

But as far as locations I've gotten approached, there are many.

Simply walking among the crowd at locations like Carnival Court between Link & Harrahs, or on Fremont Street, etc. While walking between Ballys and Ellis Island. Stepping out of the parking lot elevator at, I think, Cosmo. Etc. All kinds of spots.

Once, at a semi-crowded craps table at Harrahs, a hooker stepped up to an empty spot next to me. I was totally on alert for the "I'm your good luck charm, gimme money" scam, but that didn't happen. Instead, she actually played, using her own money. But after a minute or two, she started a conversation. I could see a small smile on the dealer's face, as he knew what was happening, but had no plans to interfere. I also realized that she was only making place and field bets. I.E. The kind that can be taken down at any time. Sure enough, after talking to me briefly, and realizing I wasn't biting, mid-roll she took her bets down, and left.

My favorite story was when coming in from the parking garage at, I think, NY NY. It's a long featureless corridor and I could see her at the other end, walking out. As we got closer, my pace slowed so I could get the full view. This was the girl I was thinking about when I said in my previous post 'very hard to resist'. Short, petite, wonderful proportions and two perfect chocolate ice cream scoop breasts. A few seconds before we were about to pass, a man going in the same direction as me passes me and says, "Don't do it". I replied "I can look..." Well, she heard that and quickly turned around and was walking with me, offering herself up. My original plan was to go directly to my room, but instead I walked towards the casino. I figured if she got me in the hotel elevator, it was gonna be game over. So for several minutes, we're walking, she's offering, and I'm saying no. Finally, she plays the race card, either to get me to prove I'm not prejudiced by saying yes, or to show that I am. "It's because I'm black isn't it?" I laughed briefly and said "No. Look at me. I'm a fat fuck. I love chocolate. But it's still no." She laughed and decided I was being honest and finally walked the other way.

It's my understanding that casinos basically tolerate and allow whores to ply the world's oldest profession in their casinos so long as they're discreet about it; I've also heard of kickbacks to casino staff for making referrals.

Lots of swinging dicks come to sin city in order to sin, ergo its name, so nobody in their right mind wants to get rid of all the sluts as the prospect / possibility of illicit love draws rubes in like moths to a flame.

The issue isn't johns getting laid; the issue is johns getting mugged, robbed or worse, often by a team of hustlers; you know, you bring the sweet young thing to your room and either before or after you spew she lets in one or more armed confederates while you are momentarily distracted,

Moral of the story: like that dog said in a TV commercial: "Never pick up a stranger, don't put your life in danger."

When Vegas still had a phone book, the thickness of the yellow pages of escorts was impressive.

That reminds me...I was also approached getting and advertising magazine to take back to a friend I work with. She said she was just trying to make a living without getting run over. She had ran across a busy intersection in high heels

I understand that a lot of the weekend hookers come in for the weekend only or for special events from So Cal to make extra money, then return to their non-whoring life after the weekend; a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.

Maybe one reason prostitution is not legal in Clark county is because the casinos want the working women on their premises in order to induce the horn dogs to enter through their casino doors; if there were brothels that would end the prospective johns going to the casinos to hook up, and that would hurt the casino's bottom line.

Wicked world.

If prostitution was legal in Clark County, the casinos would have a harem waiting on the high rollers.

Casino properties are probably some of the most secure places you can be, especially the casino floor itself

In other locations, you gotta be a real naive dipsh!t to fall for one of their scams

And if you were to look at crime statistics, it's the hookers that are usually the victims

TV news has been going down hill since the 1980s when companies started to realize that it was cheaper to put on news programs than entertainment programs.

What TV execs found is that they could repeat the same news stories six times a day. They started to fill the news with low quality content. They hired young inexperienced reporters to replace higher paid experienced professionals, franchises like INVESTIGATIVE, business, health, consumer news were eliminated.

All this was done to make TV news more profitable.

What is today called INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM is not that at all. I laugh when I watch the "I Team" reports on local stations here in Vegas. I say to myself that there's no investigation there -- they just made a phone call.

Things were very different before 1985. That's when news meant something because only real news was on that half hour at 6pm. Now they need a lot of crap to fill three hours a day.

When I was in college, I looked into Investigative Journalism. I was told it was going to be a dead field inside of a decade. That was in the late 1970s.
I'm not sure it is completely dead, but the whole enchilada has evolved. Perhaps devolved would be a better fit.

There are few news outlets doing real investigative work now.

1n 1979 I was president of the Economic News Broadcasters Association. I was a reporter and assignment editor at CBS News at the time. The group was started in 1976 by Mitchell Krauss, Ray Brady, Dan Cortz, Irvine R Levine. When I was President we had 52 members from local TV stations. By 1982 all but 3 of the local reporters had their positions eliminated.

My best work including forcing the government to change how the Unemployment stats and how the Consumer Price Index were compiled was done while at CBS -- not in local news.

My exception was at WTVJ in Miami where I got the Janus Award for my investigation of Savings and Loans before the crash.

Banks don't seem to be crashing this time around, yet. But they are closing branches like they can't keep the doors open anymore. Kind of makes it hard to deposit a casino check on your phone because of deposit limits though.

I am pretty sure different people have different deposit limits. My wife can only deposit up to $1000 via the bank app but I can do up to $25k. I am guessing that people with a lot more money than me can deposit even more.

Never had a problem with the credit union shared branch system. Not instant, but good coverage.

I basically told my credit union that I'd be travelling, I don't know where, and I may need to deposit (checks or cash) or withdraw cash beyond the ATM limits.
The modern drive-up teller terminals are ok, but not great. Have to go into the lobby and talk to a person (mention "shared branch" at most every opportunity), and usually have them get out The Binder that lays out The Procedure. A couple forms of ID are often required, but nothing you wouldn't be familiar with from a W2G.

It is not instant, but far quicker than mailing a check and waiting 7 days. Also possibly less hassle than a forfeiture stop in Arizona or Oklahoma, if you're not immune to those sorts of things.
