My 31 year old cousin is in the hospital with COVID pneumonia and probably not going to make it. He has 3 small children. His family has a heart of gold. I've been here for years and consider many of you friends.

If you pray, pray.
If you use positive energy, send it.
Even a thought about him will help!

He needs a miracle!

My secretary from years back was good as dead on a ventilator for a few weeks a year ago with COVID-19. Just had dinner with her a few weeks back. Minor long term stuff but a total freaking success. The treatments have gotten better and better. I expect positive news from you soon. Keep up the positive feelings for him.

I am very far away, but here will not help a miracle, and a qualified doctor, only he is able to fix this situation, and then you need to follow all instructions of the doctor, and treat without missing a single pill.

I read that science is developing new and better treatment modalities for Covid-19 patients; let's all beat this thing.

Very sorry to hear. Was he vaccinated and if so, how long ago, with which vaccine. Any underlying health issues? Very sad to hear that someone so young is so ill.

I wish your cousin a prompt and full recovery.

Thanks, guys! Appreciate it.

The doctor says the machine is doing 100% of the breathing for him, and he has 0 lung function at this time.

He was vaccinated, Pfizer, both shots. Here is the underlying health condition...he weighs 450 lbs! He's only 5'8".

It's easy to say he shouldn't be that big, and I agree. Its a tough conversation telling someone you want them to lose weight because you love them, and not sound like a jerk. Realistically, at that size, you are a ticking time bomb. COVID definitely doesnt help!

It's just so sad. He has 3 young children and comes from a good family. Just so young!

My wife and my three kids are all positive right now. Thankfully they have not gotten too sick to the point they needed to go to the hospital.

We are very fortunate.

Turns out Covid was the leading cause of death in Arizona last year It's the only state in the Union that can make that claim.

It is, but the media has to stop attacking the idea when they do not like the messenger.

I do not really pray but best thoughts and wishes to the OP.

I’m so so sorry. I wish your cousin a prompt and full recovery. Recently, a relative of mine also had a coronavirus. He coughed up blood but was able to recover. The main thing is not to lose faith.

Yesterday morning my cousins lungs were bleeding internally. He lost 6 pints of blood. They rushed him to surgery and gave him 6 pints. They got him stabalized and his O2 was at 80. This morning the doctor come out and told my aunt his O2 had dropped to 50 and there is a good chance his heart may stop. They are basically done doing all they can for him medically. It's up to human strength, divine intervention or pure luck at this point if he makes it!

Is he a candidate for ECMO? That's pretty much the last resort in these situations.

Realistically, it might be time to say goodbye. The luckiest way a person may go is surrounded by his family.

I am sad to hear of your Cousin's passing. He is at least the third person I have heard of who got fully vaccinated but had underlying health conditions, and got Covid and passed away. Which brings further credence to my pointing out that the harassment of non vaccinated people should stop as many people have underlying health condition that will make them even more suspectible to Covid if they get vaccinated.

It's actually a terrible infection, because you might not notice it, but it can be bad for your lungs. Lung damage is a very scary thing.
