And when, if you care to predict. Montana? Oklahoma? Arizona? I will go with all three of the above, and all on the same day May 1. But, does anyone have a better guess as to who reopens to the public first, and why?

I think Nevada will be the first major jurisdiction because the state depends on the tax income.

i would say south dakota, such as deadwood. could also possibly be washington, since the curve supposedly hit there first, meaning it will end first. but i do think states with a republican gov as opposed to a democratic governor will care far more about reopening businesses and the economy

I seriously doubt Oklahoma opens on May 1. We're on stay-at-home until April 30th. Our peak is not projected until the last week in April. It will take weeks after that for things to slow down and for companies to begin restaffing and start opening up. I think June 1st at the earliest is when non-essentials will start opening back up again; maybe even June 15th.

And Dallas county is May 20, which drives most of the border casinos' revenue.

I hope that no states go rouge and open back up significantly before federal guidelines. Being that interstate travel isn't banned, any state opening early is cause for major concern.

Wasn't your governor trying to shut them down, or making some threats or power play or something?

Big goal of mine, to go visit Oklahoma, before I get too old. You guys have an amazing amount of casinos.

We can have another bet that we will forget.... Nevada is behind some other areas as far as when the peak of deaths will be. Probably a sparsely populated area will open first...

That’s hard to say since it assumes a level playing field, where the conditions are the same. Clearly, they’re not.

But if the assumption were true, I’d say Nevada since so much of the economy is tied to gambling and tourism.

But in reality, Nevada might be towards the tail end, in an effort to prevent new spread of C-19 by inviting tourists.

Bottom line: Dunno.

He wanted to renegotiate the contracts with the tribes, and also bring non-tribal casino companies into the state. They were still in a big kerfuffle about it when the whole coronavirus thing happened, so as far as I know discussion has been shutdown. I suspect the tribes will prevail in the end, though, but I'd sure like to see some outside companies in the mix.

Arizona just mandated 14 day quarantine on arrivals from NY and the North East. I don't see them relaxing it anytime soon.

My best guess is one of the Dakotas on may 1st. There's no stay at home order in either state, and the tribes have voluntarily closed the properties. Fort Randall in SD didn't even close until 5 days ago. They won't stay closed long at all.

Something like this makes sense, it will probably be an NA casino, because they have have some autonomy.

I'm curious how FP will be coming out, seems a lot of people will be afraid to come to casinos for a while, but there are people who believe people will just flood out first chance they get. I don't agree with any such rush of people, because a lot of people won't have jobs or savings.

There are 2 issues, people had had offers before the shut down, they would have been able to collect them, but if within 2+ months, they could have dropped and people will be offended by this. Don't know how or when these offers will be around, there isn't any casino mail out coming to my house now. I guess they could rush out mail for those who don't have emails. I want to say casinos will need to be aggressive, but we've seen them tighten up when all the experts said casinos wouldn't during the great recession. One thing casinos have going for them or against them, is a lot of the concerts and shows will not be performed, they will have this money to spend.

Well, cops can spot an out of state tag driving around pretty easy unless you get a rental. Depends on if they keep track of a previous warning or citation.

Many casinos are going to open up with a lot of the machines turned off to start for social distancing, just noticed something about this in an email from Penn gaming. Don't know if that'll stick, but it's the plan now. As many have pointed out, it doesn't make sense when people sit at the machines in between. Maybe if the casinos are really into this, they will remove chairs in between shut down machines. A casino opened with half capacity, that's a strange thought.

At the Suncoast, two days before the Vegas casinos closed every other slot machine was turned off and there were strictly only three chairs per table game. I imagine it will go back to something like that when they reopen.

Yes I've seen the same thing elsewhere. Here's hoping on a miracle.
