Yeah, I agree that both books are much weaker than they used to be. Two years ago my friend and I made $300-$400 each using most, if not all, of the coupons, and last year I did a solo run of all of them and made a LOT, like $700-$800. (I count the winning bets as well as the coupon value--I was lucky). There are much fewer this year. Some of them take a long time like the 2-1 blackjack payouts, but since I am going to play BJ anyway, I don't mind those. The Palms 3X points takes a long time (you can earn a maximum of 40,000 points), so I like to play multiline video poker. I plan on doing it again this year if I can get a flight out there, so I will report back how it goes.Quote: BenJamminNo match plays, and many coupons expire preceding the few days before the New Years Eve holiday period begins.
Are there not also shipping charges involved?
Due to coupon abuse there were NO match plays in the 2010 LVA book, and I'll wager the 2011 book will be even more anemic.
A much better deal would be the 2011 American Casino Guide, at $12.75 + $4 shipping APX which contains over $1000 in coupons, including many viable match plays and the 2011 coupons may be used as soon as you receive the book which takes only a few days.
Quote: JerryLoganThese penny pinchers worship at the Queen of Comps alter. She puts on some crazy show that's so full of holes you could drive a truck through it, so the weak and unsuccessful players jump through hoops just to get those dumb coupon books to save them $15 on a 3 day trip. And all the time they're looking the other way at the fact that those "free things" are only there to reel them into losing inside the casinos. The ultimate cheapskate's waste of time.
Cheapskates win $500. Non-cheapskates lose $5000.
Hmmm..which would I rather be....

Hey, to each his own. Some 2 for 1 buffets and some matchplay coupons are a nice little bonus to me, so I like using them.

No, no, no. The only proper way to live is the JerryLogan way.
