<snip>Diatomaceous Earth does work for it. On the molecular level, it's razor -sharp and cuts them to ribbons as they hatch and walk around. It was used for fleas decades ago, which I needed before they came up with dog pills that poisoned them when they bit.<snip>

beachbumbabs,

I used to work in a pet store, and we sold diatomaceous earth for use in aquarium filtration systems. Thus, you can try your local pet store.

According to that bastion of all human knowledge, Wikipedia, "milled or micronized diatomaceous earth is especially fine (10 µm to 50 µm) and used for insecticides."

Hope this helps!

I officially apologize to you, ZenKing, for my part in hijacking your thread.

I hate both bedbugs and socialism, and fortunately I've never had to deal with either.

Was just poking fun, didnt want anyone actually banned. Also I was poking fun at the people who always cry to the mods for having someone banned.

As to the people mentioning diatamaceous earth, yes it does work, but make sure it's the food grade one and not the other one that can actually harm your health by breathing a chunk in, but that's also been debated whether it's harmful or not. I've also had pest control tell me DE is over rated and doesn't work, but he was probably just trying to sell his business to the property cause then his company would be out of business.
Any private business open to the PUBLIC (ie. droned out casinos) cannot have a criminal trespass enforced against an individual without GOOD CAUSE (Disruptive or Disorderly conduct). You will never go to prison for being thrown out of a casino for legal advantage play and then returning because it's simply unconstitutional 'as applied' to the individual. 'As applied' constitutional issues must FIRST be raised in DISTRICT COURT (trial court) to have it thrown out. You CANNOT raise it on APPEAL This is the best kept secret in the world of casinos not just in Vegas but everywhere in the country. Thank me later.

You have my apologies as well. It's far too easy to fall into that political hole and I was aware it was happening but got sucked in regardless. With the title change of this thread is it now about politics, bedbugs or both?

It's funny comparing bedbugs to socialists. Really, I think those who are more socialistic or capitalistic can make the claim that the other side leeches off society in some way. Kind of funny.

In Queens, I knew a guy who had two dogs trained to detect bed bugs. One was a beagle, the other some sort of hound dog. I think he paid something like $10,000 for the pair ,fully trained. He had a wand that froze stuff but he said if an infestation is bad, kill them as best you can, seal them up and throw away the mattress.
My grandmother used to tell how they closed up the LI house for the winter, came back the next spring and the house was infected with them. This being the 1950s, they burned everything in the house.
The difference between fiction and reality is that fiction is supposed to make sense.

I had fleas badly 25 years ago. Tore
all carpet out of the house fumigated
the furniture. Haven't had a flea or
a carpet in the house since. Hardwood
floors are much easier to take care
of than carpets. All carpets do is catch
and hold dirt and bacteria. And fleas.

Even though I don't have any pets currently I still occasionally pick up some fleas. (neighbors pets, squirrels? who knows). Instead of trying to catch one, usually biting me on the leg and squash it before it jumps away, I just strip off whatever I'm wearing and put everything in freezer for a half hour. Kills the fleas, and kills the eggs.

The fleas seem to always try to stay on the clothes. Bad luck for them.

(reminds me, when I lived in Vegas, I was pretty sure I was also getting fleas from riding the bus)

Worst fleas I saw were in Calif. I
rented an apartment and the
day I moved in I was getting
3 bites a minute on the living
room rug.

I got the manager and demanded
a refund. He said no and I had
him stand on my carpet for a
minute and when he started
scratching I said a call to the
health dept or a refund, which
is it. I got the refund.

He had offered a free extermination,
but there was no way I was living
in a building this infested. It
would be an ongoing problem.

I knew a guy that parked his livaboard sailboat in Seattle for the winter, and would sail it to Ak. in the spring. Just before he docked it for the winter in Seattle he met a girl that had a big German Shepard. They went to the boat for a few days, and he left until spring when he came to pick it up. He said it was like a bee hive when he went in.
