So a local casino here in Reno had a grand prize of accepting $7,500 cash or getting to play every machine in the casino with max spin or deal: collecting whatever it paid. What would you do if you were the winner? I’m not sure how many machines the casino had but I heard around 500.

Depends on the quality of their HL room and total number of machines.

Your average bet would have to be over $15 per machine. $15 per machine would break you even, but now you have to fade the vig on each machine. You would have take a look and see how many multi denomination, multi line, and high limit machines they have, especially ones with $5 denominations or more. With only 500 machines I have to assume it's a small place that probably doesn't have much as far as higher limits.

Here is where I think you might get them. If they have Bubble craps, Big tits BJ, and E-roulette etc, That alone could easily put you way above that $7500. I think it would take less than 15 min to figure out what to do.

Does their website show what games they have available and pictures of the casino floor?

If you had to choose blind without any knowledge where, I think that would be a tough decision.

Aside from the E-tables, I don't know that I would focus on just the high limit room. Bar-tops and multi games can oftentimes have some big bets. That might get offset by the nickle and penny slots.

I still want to know the logistics of how they would do this, do they shut down the casino, tell a player to stop playing while he spins, wait the players out?) and how long it would take. IIRC there was mention of a similar promo at a NY casino?

Not much of a HL area but they do have one, I think $10 VP, or $50 a hand. I guess there would be an attendant or some representative from the casino with you inserting the cash in each machine you go to. I'll find out exactly how many machines they have, might be closer to a 1000

I would assume they could just key the machine for a free spin.

I'm still wondering how they track each win? Perhaps you use your players card and at the end they give you the total amount the system thinks you have won, or they just keep a tally. I would be concerned about a tally and the players club being accurate. I would keep my own separate tally and if they give me more I keep my mouth shut and if its less I tell them to recalculate it. Obviously I'm not going to say anything if its only off by a few bucks.

If it was 1000 machines sight unseen and I was forced to choose( not considering time as a factor), I would go with the free spins. I would really be looking close at the E-tables. I assume it's one bet bet per station.

This sounds like it would be a real pain in the butt for both them and you. There seems to be lots of issues.

I’d read the fine print and ask a lot of questions before deciding. They may decide that the PITA factor is too high and offer more than $7500...

I'd have to take the spins.

It would also be spins off fp, so most likely a lot less taxable involved, maybe none if those new IRS rules are being interpreted correctly.

7500 would be fully taxed as a lump.

My best guess is the know how many machines they have and what the max spin is. Then they give you that much in free play. They advertise it is 1 spin on each but just give you enough to be able to do it. If there are 1000 machines it would take an entire day and there is no way they are paying someone for an entire day to follow you around.

Or maybe they have a way to program your card for 1 spin on each individual machine and it's up to you to get to each machine.

Either way, I am more inclined to take the free play because your tax burden is gonna suck on 7500

Do you take the $7500 or a max bet spin on each machine, what has more value? Obviously we can answer that question without knowing what machines they have, but lets assume you know they have 1000 machines.

I find the discussion of what you should be looking for and how to evaluate the situation when given limited time, interesting.
