Many of you that remember Alan the high roller from the Louis Theroux BBB Las Vegas documentary. I have wondered what became of the multimillionaire "mattress king of Canada"
I don't have an answer, but he did make an appearance on the 2004 Fox Reality Show THE CASINO

If I recall correctly the entire industry collapsed and all those store cannibalized each other's sales.

I just recently watched that again!

I was also watching the documentary for what I thought might have been staged or elements that could have been edited out, and I don't recall anything major being unrealistic. It seems to have truthiness!

There was a rumor going around that Alan lost everything and became an Uber driver. I'm not sure if anyone ever substantiated that rumor.

But I love that documentary. I recently watched it again, too.

who sold much of his work to the BBC. He didn't cooperate in any shenanigans in Vegas or the
Scientology compound in the USA.

He sold his manufacturing plant in 2006 for over $14,000,000. I'm guessing that is where a good chunk of his liquid assets came from. A lot of times with these mergers they end up letting go the previous senior leadership after a year or so.

$70,000,000 is a lot, but let's be honest, how much is his salary as VP? Maybe half a million. That isn't enough to keep up his lifestyle. Plus now he has to report to a boss, who might not like his right hand guy spending his time in Vegas blowing large sums of money.

Maybe his uber driving is just a rich man's hobby?

I want to know what happened to that clown who blew all his money on blackjack.

And the guy at the end that Louis was playing Baccarat with.

What about the widow in Las Vegas who blew millions of her inheritance on slots?

My recollection is thatshe earned a lot of money on her own and even after husband died she
spent money on the slots as a hobby not a wasteful extravagancw.

Yeah, she was a retired doctor.

Her story was probably the "least" depressing, as she was old and retired and had nothing else to do and didn't really need the money to live on (at that time).

And her son was just like, "Whatever... it's her money."

Casinos may love high rollers but they thrive on low rollers.
