I personally think that the loss rebate that is still going on to my knowledge at my local casino is one of their best promotions of all time. You lose $100, and you get an email telling you to coming back on another day, and you get the $100 back that you lost. It's called,"Lose 100 On Us!" promotion. I ended up winning roughly $120 with the promotion. That particular promotion had lots of takers, unsurprisingly. ;)

So, what are good promotions that your casino offers/offered? ;)

About 10 years ago, the Taj Mahal had a Stock Picking Contest. I enjoyed it very much. Everyone who entered was given 50,000 promo dollars to use within the stock picking challenge. There were 500 stocks on the NYSE from which you could choose you picks. Every week you had to make your buy/sell selection on property at the Stock Challenge Kiosk . This was a 6 week contest. At the end of the 6 weeks, the person with the most money in their stock portfolio won. First prize was 50k, second prize 10k, third prize 5k....and so on. I took second place...

The NFL challenges that most all casinos have now are good too. You pick your winners every week. Top winners win cash prizes. These are great promotions to get people on property.

The Cannery's offer two hundred dollar rebates for new members. You can even do both in the same day.
The Longhorn gives a free cookie to members.

I used to mildly like Uspin. It only took $250 in play to get a spin winning from $5 to $250 free play. Usually it was $5-10, sometimes $25, never had more or saw more. It was nice if otherwise playing. Besides all the progressives being 85-86% now, they want $500 coin-in to get the same offer. I will never be there on Tuesdays now, that's a double ****ed whammy, worse slots and halved promotions.
I am a robot.

As I recall Emerald Island is a casino/restaurant joint near the center of Hendertucky. IF you play slots and are already inclined to go to Hendertucky this sounds like a good casino to patronize. At least the minimum on the wheel spin is ten dollars... I recall one woman who spun one of those wheels and got one lousy freakin' dollar in a casino she never again returned to.

Note: Hendertucky is a local's derisive term for those who live in Henderson, particularly the very small homes and trailer park areas. However a casino that is in an area of hard working blue colar types is very likely to have good deals to attract and retain locals.

Only online (here I believe) have I ever heard anyone ever refer to it as that.

I have heard someone at jokers wild who lives in Henderson refer to it as Hendertucky, but only time I had heard it. Makes sense that "old Henderson" would be called that, not that there's anything wrong with the area IMO just a very blue collar suburban neighborhoods.

Heard the term a few times from the same people. Never thought of it as 'derisive'. Just, that's it's nickname, nothing more. I love Hendertucky and hope to live their once again someday. Small city vibe connected to Vegas, pretty awesome.

Heard Hendertucky many times. Lived in Henderson for a few months or so when I first moved to Vegas.

Speaking of great promotions, here's a full list of some really good promotions I'm playing right now:

At my local casino, do $500 coin in and get $100 Macy's gift card.

But seriously, I think The M has some deal where if you do like $1k or $1.5k coin in you get a free buffet, or 2 hours rated on tables.

I live in Henderson and have never heard the term, but I'm far from downtown.
By the way, I recently did a guided tour of historic Henderson and was surprised to learn all those mobile home looking houses were built as temporary housing for workers during WW2 and had an expected useful expectancy of about twenty years. That was sixty years ago.
The three casinos on Water St. cater to a local, older crowd. They take good care of them.

I live in Henderson and have never heard the term...

From Google search:
About 9,470 results
Urban Dictionary: Hendertuckey
The part of Henderson, Nevada that is populated by white trash and hillbillies.
Parody: Hendertucky « 98.5 KLUC Las Vegas
Yet, it is still referred to, by locals in Las Vegas and Summerlin, as “Hendertucky.”.
Hendertucky - Henderson - City | Facebook
Henderson – It Ain't Hendertucky No More!
When I moved here in 1997, Henderson was nicknamed “Hendertucky”. Â I honestly don't know why but maybe

This is just to prove that I didn't make it up.
Nor did I make up "Tray Lizard" for "Cocktail Waitress" even though I will admit Paco was unable to find any references to Tray Lizard use amongst craps players.

I believe you, I've just never heard the term before. Much of "Old Henderson" reminds me of some Long Island beach communities, that forty years ago were summer bungalow colonies that now are lived in year round. I live in literally the first block of Henderson. To the west and north of me are horse properties and million dollar homes. Those folks probably look at my complex as a slum.

Such is the reputation of Kentucky that the, "Tucky," suffix gets thrown on anything considered, "White Trash."

Another example of this would be the areas of PA known as Pennsyltucky, which, to the best of my knowledge, can be slapped on most areas in rural PA.

While no one is actually likely to reveal their best plays on public forum, what might be interesting is if people were willing to divulge dead promos they played that happened in relatively recent times, e.g. the Mohegan Sun Triple Down BJ Promo that happened like 6-7 years back. This was, unfortunately, just before my time, lol. But such examples might give hope that the "good promos" are not a thing of the past. Gets boring hearing about 2 for 1 senior buffet promos ad nauseum :-P.

Loss Rebates over $1,000 are available at some casinos (new players only, or...also for any player once every X days).

Occasional promotion. For $250 coin-in (slots) or $500 coin-in (VP) to qualify for whole day, possible to win many prizes, EV $100+.
Prizes are $50 or less, so unlikely (<1.5%) to win nothing (not weighted on big prizes). It's a 22-45% edge.

IMO people will keep the best promotions quiet...

Perhaps. But then again, APs are essentially competing with each other. I got no problem with sharing information in the proper setting, but doing so in public (IMO and I think most others) is more harmful to APs as a whole and individually.

Sharing stories is fun and all, but even things that happened in the past can and do have relevance to current or future plays. Even stupid things casinos did back in the day where one might think "oh casinos don't have coin droppers anymore (for the most part), that promotion is never gonna be run again!" or something of that nature.....another promotion can come up that's similar enough to "whatever" that previous promotion was.....and then other APs or perhaps the casino starts doing some extra thinking and they're like "this is basically the same thing / very similar to what casino X ran years ago...."

I can't believe they would close a state highway for such a ridiculous event.

(Road Condition Joke)

Actually, I've got a at least a few drops of hillbilly in my blood. I would be remiss not to admit I LOVE a good demolition derby as much as anyone. Tractor pulls are not my thing at all, though, just the demo derbies.

One local casino gave free play for all new members. A free play wheel with $10-$1,000 was spun. I got $100 and turned my free play into around $73 in cash.

Another local casino gave $50 to all new members. I got around $35 in cash.

These were good promotions. :)
