So I pulled a all nighter the other day at the g nug and I am cashing out my chips and it is taking them forever to verify, when I hear this lady find me saying there's a bomb in this building and it's going to go off in 5 minutes! Granted she did look a little crazy and wasn't wearing any shoes LOL no one seemed to be alarmed at all. I told the cashier give me my chips now please a little frantically....and she said you don't want to cash out? I said no that lady said there's a bomb and I want to get the heck out of here. My wife was playing a penny machine I grabbed her and said let's go outside right now! I told her what happened she kind of laughed at me but we waited out front for a few minutes. I decided to take a walk down Fremont before we went back in to see if I could see the lady. I did find her standing by herself looking up talking to a sign LOL. While I'm here a lot... I am not a local and don't know all the crazies, but it still seems strange to me that I was the only one that left. I cashed my chips in a little bit later and the cashier lady was laughing and said that the police came and she had to fill out a police report and I guess they took the lady to jail. Would you have stayed? Am I crazy to think why not go outside and wait a few minutes just in case?

I'd do what you did, gtfo of there. By the way, apparently you have a happy marriage.

Let's say it's 600,000 to 1 against the crazy lady being correct. How many pat royals have you been dealt? I've had several.

You were just a customer, you had an easy decision. What if you were a manager, some important suit? What if you were a security guard? Now your decisions gets a little more difficult. Maybe.

I would assume even if there was a bomb, I would likely be far enough away to not be hit, and better get my money first. You wouldn't know if there is a bomb, but you would know you're wasting time and flexibility not getting your money asap.

There's no harm in getting out of there for 10 min then walking right back in... Take the play with 0 variance and guaranteed results =).
Playing it correctly means you've already won.

Yes.

I once had business to conduct with a barefoot, attractive young lady in her home. Out of the question to float a trial balloon, but it seemed like a come-on. Am I crazy? Still remember that one.

Which brings me to: this sort of thing happened often enough, women who acted somewhat seductively, usually nothing too overt, in a situation where my acting on it would have been insane. Anybody remember that scene in the movie "About Schmidt" where the husband is sent off to get beer, and his wife and Schmidt get into an intense discussion? Schmidt interprets it as seduction, makes his move, and sure enough she freaks out, such not being her intention. In my case some of those would have turned out like that, I think, but which ones? LOL

If the nutcase stayed around trying to get others to leave it seems foolish to be strolling for the exits.

Now barefoot in one's home or even topless in one's home is a different matter. Most young girls nowadays simply ask "would it be okay with you if I free the nipple"?

To re-focus on the OP question.
Not sure what I would have done in that circumstance, and it's hard to re-create the scene while sitting at the computer naked in my mom's basement ;-)

Could be anything from pee my pants, to asking her for a date, to asking which direction I should run to be moving AWAY from the bomb? Hard to say.

Had tix for the finals of some of the track and field events for the 96 Olympics in ATL, actually it was the beach volleyball, think mens final and womens semi-finals or something. 'Cause these were personal tix as opposed to company tix where I had to take some customer. Anyway, GF spent the night at my house near the venue and we awoke the next morning to the news that a bomb had been set-off in Olympic Park the night before, with casualties. We wondered whether to go or not. But we went, had a good time. Security was a bit tight, much tighter for track and field at the new Olympic stadium a couple days later. Went to that as well. Later the customer went belly up owing my company, which impacted my commissions severely.

To get to the point of my murmurings here;
In the spring of 2003 I was up at the Nantahala River in NC, had finished a long day on the river and went to a convenience store 'bout a mile north of the NOC outpost there. Bought some snacks and walked back to my car. The car parked next to me had 3 men in it, apparently the driver was in the store. One of them looked at me briefly, the hair on the back of my neck stood on end, then he looked away.

I got in the car and drove away, explaining to Sparkles (new GF), 'I think Eric Rundolph was sitting in the back seat of the car parked next to us back there. There was no cell coverage then for my old Blackberry, Sparkles told me I was imagining things again, I let it go.

Rudolph was apprehended a couple weeks later 10-15 miles from that store. True story.

2f she was wearing a feather dress to lol...bobartop...I actually thought about that alot...if I was the manager and someone said that it would really be a tough spot to be in...what if it was that time she wasn't crying wolf! What if something bad did happen and a bunch of people died and you could have prevented it...i am really happy that the cops actually arrested her and held her accountable though.

Most people in the casino are gamblers. I don't think I would leave based on the scenario you described. Do you leave a hotel every time the fire alarm goes off? I don't.

I would have whipped out mah shootin' iron and exercised mah Gawd-given Second Amendment rights and plugged her raht between the eyes. I would have killed a couple more people, too, if they looked sorta like terrorists.

Ah loves this here country, where you can shoot anybody you want! That's what keeps us safe! That woman, based on your description, was obviously a radical Muslim terrorist!
