3/3 threads about CET. Hello Gary! =p

I was going to list my favorites, but then I realized it's probably not a good idea, so I'll just vote in the pole after some other people do =).
Playing it correctly means you've already won.

I love craft beer, so it's easily the Linq thanks to TAG Lounge.

I like the Paris, although I haven't stayed there in a while. Nice place, good rooms, nice vibe, good restaurants, I just wish that Mon Ami Gabi place was something else other than a national chain however. It has such a nice location

Great question, and one worth revisiting. I think CET did a fantastic job with The Linq. It is a top-notch property now just by virtue of being new and having really good design and quality staff. The games are fine. O'Sheas is very fun and better than the old O'Sheas. Great restaurants and all the stuff in the shopping area if you want something different (Brooklyn Bowl, High Roller, etc.). The TAG bar is great. I am so happy they got rid of the crap between The Linq and Harrah's as well.

Harrah's is very fresh now, as well. Good Diamond Lounge. Good variety of table games (Pai Gow tiles). Nice rooms and amenities.

Flamingo is sadly fraying at the edges but still offers a good product in my opinion.

Bally's is tired. Getting to be something of a grind joint. Felts are worn. Ballys/Paris/P-Ho have the same table games director and you can actually still get a quality 3-2 blackjack game at those properties. (Ironic since they basically invented 6-5). They have double deck with no DAS. Also 6 deck DAS LS RSA S!7 for $25 in Bally's high limit.

I don't like Caesars Palace. Too big, too crowded, and their games are abominable. It is THE place to go if you have any CET restaurant comp, however; They have the best selection of restaurants by far.

Cromwell is extremely nice, at least the casino portion.

Rio is slipping, slowly, and has been for a while. They have simply made no improvements and just let things fall away as the may.

Personal preference:
(1) Paris
(3) Linq
(2) P-Ho
(4) Caesars
(5) Cromwell
(6) Harrah's
(7) Rio
(8) Bally's
(9) Flamingo

And 2 more cents:

(1) Paris - GREAT Diamond Lounge, very upscale !

(6) Harrah's - OK Diamond Lounge, pretty good food, but just a bit on the plain side for furnishings. Free Wi-Fi in the Lounge, although it might be from the Starbucks right outside, I can't remember for sure.

Good center-ish strip location, pretty reasonable room comps, and I do like the separate room for Diamond registration.

(9) Flamingo - Not so good Diamond Lounge, the entrance is very nice, but then you feel like you are in an Employee break room.

Mine is the Rio because...I have been there.

Haven't been to any of the other CET properties in Vegas.

Rio also had a $1 E-Baccarat machine, that was kind of fun.

Caesers palace. I'm a bit biased since growing up I'd see all the nice commercials and always thought it was the nicest casino on the strip. Its the flagship property and when I first walked in as a ploppy I thought damn this is class!

Also got my first comp there. I played for DIAD on 9/6 jacks $5 back when they gave out full points. Unfortunately I busted before I could get there lol but received a very generous freeplay, room, and food offer so it took me from el cortez my first trip to Vegas to a room in octavious tower. I paid more for the room at ec, never paid for a room after that.

Also there is a shuttle that goes from the forum shops to palms so I could get my fpdw on everyday and come back to the awesome room.

RE: IPQuadLinq

Did they finally rehab the hotel rooms in the last year or so? Because when they spiffed up (or sterilized depending on your point of view) the casino floor several years ago they didn't do so at that time. At all. And most of those rooms were really crap, a couple of notches below the Pair-A-Dice weekly rate hooker motel. And the "Capri" rooms in the 1950's era motel thing out back were worst of all. But I haven't seen the hotel part in well over a year now, so maybe they finally gutted it out as they should have at the start of the rebranding and installation of the giant bicycle wheel in the back yard of the joint. Thirty bucks for a hotel room mid-strip would certainly be a fine price, if in fact they've rebuilt them into something that meets my not very demanding minimum standard of what qualifies under the terms "hotel" + "room."

RE: Palace of Caesars

I get that it is the flagship top of the line for what this company has, I really do. But after dozens of times over however many years now, I have never once managed to set foot in it without getting seriously lost and disoriented somewhere in the bowels of it, and in my dazed state again wondering why I ever wanted to go to all the trouble of getting into that edifice in the first place. How to take this property's overall interpretation of the concept of opulence is a matter of individual taste, no doubt, and I guess the faux ancient Roman fascism theme isn't quite suited to mine. I'd rather stay at the somewhat dog-eared but manageable Bally's, provided that this is during one of the weeks that their crack maintenance team has the common escalator serving it and Paris from the parking garage actually working, which is about a 7/5 shot, and much better odds than the same thing with the rickety and perpetually filthy garage elevators at the Pink Chicken property.

RE: Harrah's Las Vegas

Though not considered one of the higher end properties, I've never had a significant issue or less than satisfactory experience with the hotel rooms in this plain vanilla place, not even once, after using it as my Strip crash pad many times. It would still be my reliable 'go-to' value place mid-Strip, if I hadn't decided to permanently fire Caesar & his legions altogether.

RE: Diamond lounge opinion

1. Harrah's
2. Paris
<...>
3, 4, 5. Blecch (I've recognized some guys hanging in the one at Flaming-O who I know to be destitute local degenerates without actual homes. And Rio has the only D-lounge with no wifi and no hope of getting a cell signal.)
