I second this...I actually won't be in Vegas again until September, but would love to attend a coffee while I'm there if the Wizard and/or anyone else has time. I always enjoy going off the beaten path wherever I go, so the chance to enjoy some of the locals' favorite things to do would be great!

I'm in Vegas the 19th-22nd, and while I hate coffee, I'd love the opportunity to express my gratitude to the Wizard for the site. Maybe Friday the 20th would work for a meet up?

When in September?

I'll be there from Sun 9/19 to Sat 9/25, although all of 9/21, and 9/22 and part of 9/23 will be tied up for a convention.

I'm shooting for a meetup either late in the day 9/19 or anytime 9/20.

I'm also hoping a couple of the Vegas locals, such as PaiGowDan and PacoMartin would be able to join us.

As some of you may remember, the Wiz and I made a stupid bet over the fate of the Riviera and Circus Circus. But who knows when it will ever be resolved? So instead, we're getting together and it's on me. Ahem! The WIZ' meal is on me. The rest of ya gotta pony up some cash and pay for your own food. I ain't Rockefeller!

9th through the 16th...so I'll just miss you. Crap. Well, we'll see what happens.
A bet I wouldn't mind making is whether the hotel I'm staying at hasn't gone bankrupt and shuttered by the time I get there...can you guess which one it is? (Don't laugh when you figure it out, it was only $20/night)

My guess, mainly based on the price, is the Palace Station. While it already is in bankruptcy, I think the doors will remain open for years to come.

About the coffees, there isn't enough interest to have them on any kind of regular basis, but if I'm in town, which I usually am, we'll try to work something out. There have been four such "coffees" so far.

with all due respect i think there is alot of interest, but it comes down to timing. i think most out of towners would jump at the chance of a meeting, but not enough are in town at the same time to make a meeting worth while. for myself i would even just like to shoot baskets, but i would be up for anything.

I'll be in town July 9th-16th. Main street station 9th and 10th. Rio the 11th-16th. Wizard, I'd happily buy you a meal at either place or anywhere you'd like to go in the city, sans joel robuchon.

Good guess, but it's actually the opposite end of the Strip...at Hooters. Yes, I know it's not very good (and I'm not a particularly big fan of the restaurants) but I'm pretty low maintenance, so it'll probably be OK.

I'll be staying there for the second half of my trip, from 9/12 to 9/16...for the first three days I'll be trying out the fancy new Cabana Suites at the El Cortez.

I was planning on it being a lunch time kind of thing. I was not planning on having the attire to go to one of those places either. But hey a free meal is nice right?

palace station is off of sahara (pretty close to the strip though).

i think you are thinking about imperial palace which is on the strip (typically also a cheap place to stay).
