I dont drink alcohol.
I get tired of coke so sometimes I like an energy drink.
Heres the downtown updated policy on comped energy drinks
The D yes comp red bull
4 Queens no
Golden nugget no
Freemont yes but not red bull brand
Golden Gate yes red bull
Plaza yes but not red bull brand
Main St yes red bull

What surprises me is Golden nugget. A upscale property with no comp energy drink.

terapined, what do you mean by comped? Like red bull is free (just like any other drink) for players? Or do they literally scan your players card and comp you a red-bull, in the similar fashion to how you'd have to qualify (based on your card/play) for a comped buffet or comped room etc.?

Edit: Maybe I'm just unsure on the definition of a "comp". Are free drinks / free cigarettes considered comps?

Low roller here.
If you are playing say pai gow poker or video poker, free red bull ar the D, Golden Gate and Main Street.
Same games Golden Nugget , 4 Queens, alcohol free, no red bull, no other energy drink for free. Want Red bull, at these 2 places, pay at the bar.

Golden Gate must have loosened their free drinks policy. I remember a while ago they wouldn't comp good draft beers off the tap like Guinness. I wonder if they do that now.

I know they did last December if you were playing at the bar, but you may just mean on the floor.

Comped energy drinks are a luxury. You're supposed to be tired and worn down from gambling. Not excited energized and ready to do another round with the pit. LOL.

I am happy when the NE casinos offer ice cream sundaes. Buyer beware. Lost 50 bucks waiting for a strawberry ice cream soda at a poker table. At least it tasted good.

Revel used to do this—in the UltraLounge, players could get Redbull whereas on the floor it was so sort of energy drink (in a glass, not the whole can) called Lightning!

I do not use nicotine or tobacco nor do I drink while I am playing craps.

My drink of preference is the energy drink.

Today, I came in at 9:10am and the craps table had four players on one side and I went to the other side with no dealer. The cocktail waitress, Mary, who knows me well, asked "can I get you anything?" I responded by saying, "can I have a Red Bull with no ice?"

She then proceeds to ask the boxman permission for me to have a Red Bull.

The box man denied the request on the basis that I was not playing the game.

I have been denied a red bull previously for not having enough action as well.

This is an ongoing issue. And it's not me that you're mistreating, it's Mary.

I can go a few feet away and for two more dollars I can get a cold Red Bull at the gift shop. Then I can go back to the table and talk about the drink policy at the Silverton where, as a regular player, I am REGULARLY denied having a Red Bull.

This single policy alone really is something that seems very personal. I do not want to be put into a position where getting the best value for my free drinks at the table involves me be treated like a f___ing three year old.

It is more embarrassing for your employees than it is for me. But it is plenty so for me too.

I know that the employees only have so much discretion when it comes to policies like this (no cans allowed to be served, full of ice, and need PERMISSION to get me a drink?)

It's ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous that anyone at the Silverton would deny me a drink because I've not yet put money on the felt on the side of the table where there is no dealer. But that's just my opinion.

After this happened, I bought a $3 can of Red Bull and I wrote a note on the receipt saying, "The Silverton made a $1.50 profit selling me this drink that should have been a tip for Mary instead."

I then left the unopened can of red bull, the receipt with the note, and the $2 change along with the pen I borrowed from the Box Man who denied my request for a free Red Bull behind. I did watch from a distance as the note was given to another person on staff, and I also noticed casino security appear and look at me as they walked by (could have been coincidence).

And now I am posting up here about the Silverton's absurdly embarrassing (in my personal opinion anyway) drink policies with regards to Red Bull.

They really should just take the damn thing off the menu completely and it would be better than this sort of non-sense in my opinion.

What a way to start the day!

Lately at the Silverton, I get a $15 resort fee credit per week that I use to buy 5 Red Bulls in the gift shop.

I typically ask for "coke no ice in a large glass" because they also began using the same smaller glasses as every other casino, but will give a large glass to platinum and diamond card holders.

They also give Red Bull to platinum and diamond card holders regardless of action now.

SLS still is generous with their energy drinks, and as most know, they are bleeding cash fast. This fact (they are losing) is the fact that I think Wayne at the Silverton cites as the reason why.

The M also seems to have a generous policy with Monster Energy if you happen to like Monster. This is a nicer place to play than the Stratosphere if you like Monster like me.

Wayne thinks the SLS is losing because they are too generous with their energy drinks?!?

Sorry -- why they aren't going to be long for this policy of giving away drinks.

I generally order a jack and coke. Along with a Redbull. All at the same time. While playing blackjack that is generally my standard order. I probably order that order 1-2 times an hour for 3-5 hours. (Yea I know its a terribly unhealthy combo, especially that many, but it's only every couple weeks that I do this).

And, I never get turned down. I usually play 25/hand blackjack and generally just flatbed, thought occasionally bump it up if I am having a good run.

I would think casinos would love handing out Redbulls, it keeps me awake and at the table for more hours than I should especially if the alcohol is starting to make me drowsy, it's a good counterbalance.

Also, I play in AC, so this experience relates to AC specifically, never have been to Vegas.

I am actually a pretty healthy person, but when I gamble I like to indulge alcohol, nicotine, and alcohol buzzes on top of the gambling rush, it's my place to indulge and forget about real life.
