Usually these are the types of people who think that the bible is literally true. What do they do with the whole turning water into wine thing? Surely Jesus knew that the wine would be consumed?

Some years ago, before the clock strikes 12 midnight on new years eve I would run a complete marathon, take a Staten Island ferry to NYC and at mid- night I'll begin 5 mile run in Central park accompanied by firework and glasses of champaign .

They don't care that others drank wine, just so Jesus
didn't. It was the custom, so him giving them wine was
OK. But he himself was above drinking it, he probably
didn't eat or sleep either.

As someone who grew up a Christian household, I can attest that many denominations/churches/individuals don't believe that drinking alcohol in and of itself is a sin. Getting drunk is the sin, drinking isn't. At least, that's the way I was raised.

Ephesians 5:18: "Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit,"
"So drink gamble eat f***, because one day you will be dust." -ontariodealer

Jesus drank :

Matthew 11:19 - The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is proved right by her deeds.”

He also slept:

Mark 4:38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”

And ate, drank and got tired:

John 4:7-8 When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” 8 (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.)

John the Baptist and later on Paul of Rome gave many conditions against drinking and getting drunk. Abstinence is central plank of Wesleyan's Methodist movement, and the Quakers before him weren't big fans of booze. But Jesus was a man, as well as the son of God. It's important to the Christian religion that he was both.
"Then you can admire the real gambler, who has neither eaten, slept, thought nor lived, he has so smarted under the scourge of his martingale, so suffered on the rack of his desire for a coup at trente-et-quarante" - Honore de Balzac, 1829

Did he get laid.

Nope. Jesus was not capable of looking at a woman
with lust, he was god.

Driving to Tacoma from Ptld for dinner with family, with recreational gambling at Emerald Queen and Lucky Eagle tribal casinos likely to occur.

Hopefully when I walk out of the maws of the casinos I'll have something to be thankful for, instead of feeling like a plucked turkey.

And now, for something completely different:

I've much to be thankful for.

My dad lives right down the road from the Lucky Eagle casino. My GF was Cocktail waitress for a short time there. She was happy if she got .50 cents for a drink
