Vegas Vacation Recommendations Request?

My wife and I are planning a Vegas Vacation starting November 20th for approx 7-12 weeks.
Would like to know what to consider as far as

hotels/accommodations
Best Baccarat Lounges ($25.00 tables or Less)
Best Casino Comp offerings.
Entertainment
Etc.

Your replies greatly appreciated.

Best Baccarat Lounges ($25.00 tables or Less)

You're not going to find very many tables in the "or less" category. But there is $25 baccarat at the Palms, Gold Coast, Orleans, Palace Station, and a few more. I'll update this post when I can think of some more.

>>Vegas Vacation Recommendations Request?

>>hotels/accommodations
If it is your first trip....splurge!! You can always go on "the cheap" later.
Therefore you will want The Strip with its glitz and glamor rather than the less frilly outer areas with more bargains.

>>Best Baccarat Lounges ($25.00 tables or Less)
Baccarat or Mini-Bacc?? Big difference. MiniBacc are just tables in the casino. Baccarat is Big Table, chandelier stuff, etc.

>>Best Casino Comp offerings.
Best? All you should really aim for is "reasonable" particularly since best is going to depend on your personal preferences.
A casino that gives great golf perks won't be "best" for you if you don't like golf.
CET casinos reward SLOT play... do you and your wife prefer table games? If so, MGM is a good place. So is South Point.
So is Mandalay Bay despite some rumors recently of their tightening up their comps.
The M Resort is a great place but its in Siberia, not Vegas. (Seven miles from the strip, but great food and booze, really good comps for table play. Buffet is easily comped and has free wine and beer. Room comps during the week are easy too. Weekend room comps harder at the M though.
Do you plan to "PLAY WHERE YOU STAY" so as to get comp'd rooms?
On your first trip you would be advised to do casino hopping and get cards from EVERY place you go. (Remember walking shoes and drink water)! You are tourists and exploring a new city. You will need breaks and rests.
>>Entertainment
Depends what you favor.
For shows, cheapest tix are from the office for retired military at Nellis Air Force Base, if you qualify, but oh the nuisance!
Comps are easier for "internal" shows than shows at other casinos.
For free movies, you want the outlying areas and Local Casinos that offer movies and bowling as comps. (Free to two dollars), but why would you want movies or bowling if its your first trip to Vegas?

You should VISIT the Venetian/Palazzo for its architecture, shops, bars, casino and poker room, but be advised: very poor slot return yet some of the best dice dealers in town. Poker room is considered the best in Vegas.Be advised: Comp policy has varied widely at Venetian, but they often are viewed as looking favorably on potential from first trippers. (They are NOT going to even see any red chip play though, not ever!).

'Or less'? Are you a comedian? They don't even have
less than $25 in the Indian casinos around here. Why
do you want less anyway, you have the edge, right?

varm,

You're going to be there for 7-12 weeks. The first thing I would do in reference to comps is establish a physical mailbox right now, today if you can, at one of the mail places like Mailbox Express; find one close to a monorail station (assuming you're going to be staying on the strip) if you're going to be without a car. Then I would go to www.harrahs.com, the MGM site, the Boyd site, (who else, guys?) and sign up for their cards now using that address so you're on their mailing lists and getting their stuff even before you get there. Plan to check the box once a week or so and pick up the mailers. Get to their casinos in the first week and play big, though I know you're playing bacc which comps very low. If you're going to do any slots (maybe your wife plays them) that's the time to do it; they get comped the best. By the last half of your trip, you should be seeing some worthy offers, at least enough to pay for the mailbox and the trouble, including rooms all over town.

Apply today for the TR Visa card on the harrah's website; you are automatically upgraded to Platinum TR status plus you get 10K reward credits (100 dollars) on signup, and you have time to receive it before you go. Your offers will be better.

Harrah's has a nice asian pit with 25 mini-bacc, good drink service, comfortable low chairs, table is open 24/7 that I saw. The piano bar is exceptionally fun with no cover; Ming's Table has really delicious thai/japanese/asian food, especially the soups and noodles. Harrah's has a twin pricing menu; everything is about 10-15% cheaper with the TR card. Rock of Ages at the Venetian and Love at the Mirage are both terrific shows.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

Actually, there's mini, midi, and the big table. Baccarat on the big table is pretty rare, and if a casino does offer it, it's in the high limit room. (Off the top of my head, Caesars and the Bellagio have a big table)

Maillink is 11 miles NW of the Strip in Summerlin and offers a three month small box rental for thirty dollars.
Various options for size, 24 hour access, forwarding, inquiries, etc.
Large size annual is only 156.

This is just a googled first hit so I'm sure there are other deals, probably no worse.

That's a pretty good deal. Didn't know you could rent one for only 3 months.

7 to 12 weeks is a long time. I would not recommend a hotel for the entire stay. That will get weird, you'll eventually need to do laundry. I would get a short term efficiency. There's a place south of the airport on Las Vegas Boulevard called Manor Suites that caters to that for about $1200 a month which is less than my friggin mortgage and that comes with maid service!!

If you need a washer and dryer get a princess suite at the Platinum hotel and spa. a block off the strip quiet and it also has a full kitchen.

But if I were to stay 3 months, I would just rent a house.

Having been to Vegas a few times I eventually took my mother there for Christmas. Thus I thoroughly recommend hiring a car and taking a few day trips out of town as a break - some ideas include Death Valley, Hoover Dam, Laughlin/out of town casinos, a two-day trip into Utah. Alternatively there are organised trips e.g. flying Grand Canyon etc.

I think you can drive to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon in 5 hours. Maybe less for the South Rim. Even if there aren't any accommodations available, keep callling and trying. I suspect there are last minute cancellations all the time. We got a nice cabin in the park that way once.

Also, how about Bryce and Zion ! BEAUTIFUL country if you like the out of doors.

I haven't gotten all the way to Mt Charleston but that would be on my list if I were in Vegas for more than a couple of weeks.
