Here is a scenario up spikes ally.

you go gambling with your buddy, he has a sad story where he doesnt have money right now so you lend him 1000 dollars and he signs an IOU.

You both end up at the same poker table, and in one amazing hand, you win an all in bet from him for the 1000 he was gambling. He has zero now. and feels since it was originally your money...he is not going to pay you back the 1000. He considers that you are even.

do you shrug this off as breaking even? or do you feel you are down 1000 until you get the money aid back? Normal people would view the debt as still valid. And would not view themselves as "breaking even"

How can the lender feel like he's down? He didn't lose any money. Just ask JP.

that JP follower doesnt realize a business that appears to "break even" on a transaction is actually losing because of ovderhead salaries,rent, energy etc.
