Use a lot of ellipses when they post on forums. That is all.

So this...

Ellipses are a very bad habit of mine to be honest when posting, but I am also more math-oriented than the average poster. I have been trying to cut back...I swear. :P

I'm guessing people that are good at math are extremely poor gamblers. Too busy tripping over their slide rules and digging through pockets looking for coupons. Well all know that plenty of AP's go bust.

Traditionally this is very true. Casinos welcome math people
with open arms because they are usually very bad gamblers.

Actually, the correct term is "ellipsis" ...

That's the singular, anyway... :-)

Ah, got it.

Google shows some variations as to the correct plural form of the word.

If an ellipsis is used at the end of a sentence,
it should look like this: ... .

Who in hell does that?

I do, all the time actually. I often quote from sources where the ellipsis is meant to indicate an omission through the end of a sentence, so I use syntax like:
NRS 463.0152 defines "gambling game" as "any game played with cards ... for money ... including ... blackjack ...."

Note that there is no space between the three periods in the ellipsis and the sentence-ending period.

At some point, Word stopped auto-formatting that situation with a space. Now I always have to squint and count the periods when I write.

I have often quoted posts here, where I will leave out the first irrelevant sections. I indicate this by starting with "...blah blah blah".

Is this proper and acceptable use?

He owns (or owned?) Bodine's Casino in Carson City. So, yes he would fit this category! lol
