As of three hours ago (appx. 6pm EST), Revel's posh UltraLounge high limit room has become a smoking section.

Additionally, rumour has it that they are taking the bar out of there and will have casino floor cocktail waitresses circulate through there as well.

I suppose the low ceiling will help keep all the smoke right at nose level---goodbye fresh air...

Also, it is amazing that in the three hours since it was announced, it seems half of the world's smoking population has converged on the UltraLounge...

I cannot wait for the white leather chairs, stools and couches to become a nice yellow-brown

Only at Revel!!!

Ace, you have been a regular at Revel. Do you see more people in casino? Are they playing in the smoking section or just loitering?

Basically, when I arrive on a Friday afternoon, the open tables are all concentrated in the smoking area with only a handful of non-smoking tables open. I did not see any players in ultraLounge smoking--all the smokers were at the bar, basically all the club goers pre-gaming and using the UltraLounge as their smoking lounge.

They might look to be loitering, but they're simply paying the electric bill, which has to be done to actually ever make a profit.

I am puzzled with the logic. loiterers don't spend any money. So how are they going to pay for the electricity?

Pre-gaming = drinking before the REAL drinking begins, so they're buying booze.

They probably are doing more than loitering, but you can't see that because of your judgement and feeling of superiority over them.
I don't understand why people would be at the casino at all if they're not gambling, but having people in the casino no matter, helps the casino achieve the goal of making it seem "worth it". If it's empty, then it makes people think everyone else must be smart not to play here.

Seriously. If the club kids aren't the crowd Revel wants, I'm pretty confused. It takes a special kind of person to pay $20 for $1 worth of alcohol...

The cool kids call it prefunking and it's usually done with store bought alcohol so you don't have to buy as much of the overpriced stuff at the clubs.

Don't forget,

First they pay $40 so they can pay the $20 per drink

I would think it is a parent of Tims that gives a damn. Getting all of the calls here because this was his haven for 30 + yrs scott free. All is well in that area. just woudl like them to stop the calls & have you step up & deal with it as it will not go away as u run from it. Grandfather (dad) as you referred to him is rolling over in his grave son. Shaking his head in disbelief. After all of the years he invested in you & you do this,. WOW !!

Actually,
I have some info you may be interested in. I got another call from a fraud unit on you they are proceeding with it if you do not contact them & fight this. This will not go away on it's own Tim. You can not run from it or hide. They know where you are & where you frequent. Once you get a job they will be on it like white on rice. Your Grandfather (father) in your case is turning over in his grave, you know he would urge you to come clean & stand as a man & fight it, have a voice. This is America!! Just wanted to let you know I have been getting calls for sometime. I know you failed @ paying your pay day loans, your credit cards & you have made a huge mess of your life & that is not going away on its own. It will embed deeper if you do not deal with it immediately. If you want the # & the message i will be glad to give to you.

Sorry folks, only way he allows any correspondence. So I'm a parent trying to assist him in going in the right direction. He really was an upstanding citizen before. I was always so proud of him, always bragged on him to all.
I would think that if any of you are a parent you would do the same. I would hope. I know I done too much for mine, but hey i'm a parent what can I say. He has seen kids that grew up with no parent interaction & he knows the outcomes. He was a pro speedskater skated with all of these winter olympians you seee going to Sochi, that was not free & he sure did not work to support that. It kept him off the streets & out of trouble. He himself will tell you that if he wouldnt have been vented in that direction that he would have been a FAT kid setting in front of video games going psycho! . Imagine all of that with just one parents support . At this point a safe Bet would be that he couldn't do that well in life.
I am sure I will be banned for this, So be it. However I am not attacking anyone, nor using any foul language I am merily a parent attempting to save their child, afterall I put 30+ yrs in on that child & when I say 30 + there was never a day he didnt contact me, i didnt see him. He chose to live @ home all that time & I seen no reason to push him out. I know all of my friends told me I should have helped him out he door to the real world looong ago but where I come from we don't do that we continue to support our folks in any way we can being that we chose to bring them into this world we see no reason in forcing the world to deal with what we brought about.

I'm not convinced there isn't an actual mother-son relationship under duress here, but I totally agree it doesn't belong on this board.

I thought it was interesting, one of corvetteracing's first posts on the board:

Quote: corvetteracing

Only you can know if you are addicted. Reflect upon yourself & ALL of your relationships in life (not just with humans) take your life as an overall into retrospect & try not going for a b it try not playing for a bit. See how you feel then. You will have a bit more self reflection at that point. I know,
just within the last 9 months have gotten off of the merry go round & have taken time & I really realize that yes I was (am) an addict even though I kept my life in check until one day, one moment my life as I knew it fell apart before my eyes. To this day, all I can truly account to that is the addiction. Which I would have & probably would still tell you that I was not addicted. My game of choice was vp & craps & being into the math of it all. I spent years between Reno & vegas & still struggle because that was where my life was literally. It creeps upon you. I kept all finances in check & had no issues with that, never lost my home or anything like that. I looked at it like a business venture, an extra mioney making venture. So I would suggest taking some time off from going & doing then see how you feel. Only you can know . To be honest, I would , could slide backwards in a heartbeat if I could put my life back together & get back on the merry go round as that was the best part of living, the best days of my life. I dream of it. It defined me.
I have no desire to really continue on living daily & struggle but I have stayed away on my own choice. So I take pride in knowing that I can do that. I hope this helps !!

Did Tim used to go with his Mom on gambling trips to Reno and Vegas every weekend?

So I seen Tims mom last week @ the casino, I was an acquaintence of both mom & son from casino. She made me aware that Tim is now affording to continue vacationing, etc.... @ casinos & gambling due to the fact that he moved in with GF'S Father in April of 2013.Whom is paying the rent for them. Hince Tim is rentfree again. Wish I could manage to have same situation. Apparently they pulled him (dad) off of the river living & signed him up for welfare services as apparently he is mentally unstable. That is apparently how Tim continues to gamble. I have known Tim for years as well as mom & there is tremendous validity to what she is stating here on this forum. I am attempting to convince her to leave this forum alone as most here are just as Tim. So perhaps you will hear no more from, I can only hope as his mom does that all of you can guide him in direction. I am a frequent poster on this forum under another name . I will continue to post on here however I do not want to be identified by this issue. I enjoy this forum & feel that all of you are rather good here.

You are tenacious, I'll give you that. I want to say that I'm enjoying this, in a weird sort of way, but that would be encouraging you. Oh heck, I am enjoying this. It's better than the old men/young woman threads.

Do you post on Corvetteforum? You'll probably have to answer this when you return under a new name. Oh well.
