Wow, Krauthammer agree's with most of what I said.
Romeny came across as presidential and Obama was
petty and angry. He couldn't get Romney to take the
bait so he could paint him as the war monger the Left
has been claiming he is. Obama was confused and
frustrated by Romney's behavior, just what Romney
wanted.

They say this was all Romney's idea, his team wanted
to go in the other direction. Wow, a president that has
idea's and doesn't need a prompter. Pinch me.

Really? A conservative talking head agrees with you? Hold the presses!!

I thought it was a close debate. If forced, I thought Obama came out a little better, but I'm sure the Romney supporters thought their man won.

Pretty big swing in the Pinnacle line. Obama was around -200 before the debate and -242 now.

We've all got our minds made up.

Who wouldn't, if they had half a brain and paid
any attention.

Well the undecided voters, that's who.

So, you heard it hear first:

- This debate seals the deal.

- Obama will win Ohio and the election.

For those of you in the top 2 % of the
wealthiest of the wealthiest, sorry 'bout
that.

But you'll get by.

- Obama will win Ohio and the election.

That's about all this came down to. Shored up MI and PA, pushed OH a point or two. Kind of odd that a debate in FL didn't really move that swing state at all.

Who won the debate?

CBS poll of undecided votes: Obama 53% Romney 23%

CNN poll: Obama 48% Romney 40%.

It should be noted that CNN disclosed their poll included more republicans than democrats. I would assume with a more even split, the gap would be larger, so I feel comfortable saying Obama won the debate. Now the important question. Does it matter? I don't think this debate on foreign policy moves the needle very much. This election is going to won or lost on the issue of the economy. And it is going to be won or lost in the state of Ohio, particularly the northwest part of Ohio, Toledo and surrounding area, like it or not and frankly I don't like it. I don't like such a small group of people having such a large say, but that's another matter. lol

Go ahead and call me crazy, but why don't we
simply have an accurate way to measure the
popular vote and leave the 200-ish year old
electoral college where it belongs ? ? ?

States can and do elect governors, congress-
men, and senators. The President is the
president of everyone. Every vote should
count as one vote.

The swings actually started earlier today prior to the debate. Several organizations moved Nevada and Iowa from tossup state to lean Obama and moved North Carolina from toss up to lean Romney. Even though North Carolina has more electoral votes, it was widely thought that Romney would win North Carolina, so no big surprise there. Nevada and Iowa were true tossup states, so that is a bigger deal and a bigger surprise. It really does put Obama a step closer to 270, but still neither candidate will hit that mark without Ohio.

Ohio. Ohio. Ohio. It's all about Ohio and in particular the northwest area around Toledo. It would appear the president has a slight advantage in Ohio, in large part because of the auto bailout. Romney can try to change what he said or what he meant about the bailout, but those people in that area, who are so dependent on the auto and auto supply industry know what he really said. I don't know how he changes that at this point. Advantage Obama.

Here's a picture of Mitt Romney explaining to Bob Schieffer what Seamus was doing on the top of the car.

Ohio. Ohio. Ohio. It's all about Ohio

If Romney had crawled under the desk and sucked
his thumb, or if Obama had started bawling, how
many saw it? The 4th debate, the most boring
debate subject wise, and opposite Monday Night
Football? What do you think 98% of the blue
collar workers were watching? A boring debate or the
Lions Bears game? I was even switching back and
forth.

That would have some severe implications for folks in ND, SD, WY, DE; they'd lose a LOT of influence. Really, the election of senators only kind of counts every vote. 600,000 people in SD elect 2 senators, and so do 20,000,000 people in NY.

You've pivoted to the "but nobody watched" line. I take it you've accepted the fact that Romney lost?

The opposite, in fact. My point is this debate won't move
any lines, people are worn out. The last debate is always
a flop unless one of them picks their nose on camera, and
nobody did. So I'm not excited, like all the pundits said
beforehand, if both come out with no gaffs, its a wash.

My point was, with it being opposite MNF, no blue collar
men were watching. None of my brothers or my brothers
in law were. Football is huge in the rust belt states.

OK. Romney won the debate. It's a shame that nobody watched, because Obama is leading in every rust belt state.

Doesn't matter. You know it doesn't matter. I
know it doesn't matter. Romney and Obama
know. All the voters know.

What matters more is what Gloria Allred has
and what the Donald has. Allred probably has
that old story about some broad in Romney's
past from 25 years ago that was debunked
ad nauseum when he ran for govenor. I'm
betting the Donald has some lame birther
revelation. They'll cancel each other out.

Several outlets have mentioned that Romney was sweating heavily and attributed it to nerves. I did not notice his sweating during the debate, but in watching the rerun on Fox, I did notice beads of sweat on both his forehead and upper lip that I didn't see the first time. It was Florida, but one would assume climate control. I saw no such evidence on Obama. I am wondering what if Mr Romney was not feeling well. Maybe fighting a touch of flu or something. Would we know? That would suck as obviously you can't pull out of the debate.

I also found it interesting that Senator Rob Portman of Ohio, after the debate came out and contradicted that Romney backed the Auto bailout as Romney is now trying to claim. Mr Portman, while a huge Romney supporter and even played the President during Romney debate prep, knows that he also will have to be elected by these same voters in Ohio and doesn't want to be associated with Romney's position.

Solid Obama performance, solid Romney performance. Neither one capitalized on the other's biggest soft spots. Style points to Obama. Should have no significant effect because nobody blew it.

I am pretty impressed by Obama's comeback from that first debate. He has turned in two good ones where another disaster might have really set him back.
