I had the pleasure of staying at the Fiesta Henderson as a result of a cancelled flight. During my stay, I had dinner at the Festival Buffet. With the Amigo card, the price was $9.99 on a Thursday night. I remember there being about 5-6 different warm food options, seafood, with crayfish being the crustacean of the night, Asian, Southern (corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, collard greens), American (Mac and cheese), and Italian (pasta bar, pizza). There were two salad bars, one with the typical spinach and tossed greens, and another with pasta salad, carrot salad, etc. Both were clean with pretty typical offerings. Probably the best offering in the buffet is their dessert island. There are many baked goods; cookies, pies, cakes, and a decent selection of "no sugar added" sweets. While it is missing the crab legs, sushi, and all of the decadence of a Wynn or Rio buffet, all in all, I think I would be very happy coming here to eat and saving $30 for the tables.

I noticed there was also a Denny's and a Starbucks.

Scored a $40 comp to Amigo's Cantina after a few hours of playing craps with max odds. This is better-than-average Tex-Mex, but it is still Tex-Mex. I would put it on the same level of quality as The Cantina at Tuscany; maybe slightly better. The restaurant was packed, and you could choose to sit in the lounge or the restaurant area. As an aside, one of the hostesses was smokin' hot. She was literally turning heads every time she walked by. You never know what you'll find at the Fiesta ;-) The menu seemed very standardized, with no Mexican specialties on it that I could see. (I don't consider carne asada or fajitas Mexican). It was very similar to the other Mexican restaurants at the other Station Casinos (Cabo and Garduños). They did have a nice selection of beers and cocktails, and service was very fast and friendly. I ordered the carne asada platter, and my friend ordered a burrito. We also got three bottles of Beck's beer. The carne asada was well cooked, and a nice cut of skirt steak. It came with black beans, roasted vegetables, and a cheese enchilada. Of course everything was drowned in cheese (ugh), salt, and/or oil. Next time, I would ask for no cheese. It was nice to get something besides the usual refried beans/rice combo. The tortillas were hot and fresh, though not homemade. All-in-all a nice place and somewhere I would return to with or without a comp. Next time I think I'll try the steakhouse, Fuego, which has some of the lowest steakhouse prices I've seen anywhere.

Ate at the Festival buffet twice in the last week, both times for lunch. This is THE best value for a buffet in Las Vegas -- I'm sure of it. Prices are $4.50/$6/$8 for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I found the food to be as good or better than the other Station casinos, which cost slightly more. There is a large selection in a nice room on the second floor of the casino, with all the usual offerings, including a nice variety of fresh cut veggies at the salad bar. There is also a Mongolian grill station (stir-fry). One thing I thought was kind of weak were the Chinese offerings, but you could always just get the Mongolian. The fried chicken was amazing. To cap it off they had commercial ovens right behind the buffet and were baking up all kinds of fresh goodies. So hot buns, muffins, and other desserts were being replenished quickly. I can't remember seeing this at any buffet. I must have gotten five muffins to go (they were awesome). Oh yeah, they also (surprisingly) had a large section of Jewish favorites like Matzah (?!), Charoset, Tzimmes, Latkes, and Brisket. Just like mommy used to make. Will be returning when I don't feel like going to GVR to pay an extra two bucks for lunch.

I also want to point out that a month or so ago, Fiesta Henderson's mexican food place does an ALL DAY buffet for $9.99. They call it the "tailgate buffet." It was running while we were there, Teddy (why it was so packed). You have a somewhat limited selection, but you can leave and gamble and come back and leave and do something else and come back for $9.99 all day saturday and sunday.

I thought that all Station buffets were the same price (maybe it's just with the Boarding Pass players card). Regardless, the Fiesta Hender-tucky buffet is one of the better Station spreads. It's very nice for such a "little-big" property.

By the way, if you arrive just before they switch over to lunch (around 10:30am-10:45am), you can get breakfast items and then enjoy lunch selections -- all for the lower, breakfast price!

They have those items all year? In which section do you find them? I'll look for them when I'm there Wednesday morning.

Good call on the breakfast. Stations prices the Fiesta buffets a buck or two less than the regular Stations, which in turn are less than the GVR and Red Rock spreads. It's all part of their aspirational strategy -- they are the GM of casino companies. (Remember when GM put out three cars that were exactly the same except one was a Chevy, one was an Olds, and one was a Caddy?)

It's in the International section. I think it's just for Hanukkah, which is why I surprised to find Matzah. You couldn't pay me to eat that. It's supposed to be unpleasant to eat -- to remind us of our time in the desert ... :)
