In doing my scouting for my Vegas survey I noticed a bank of $0.25 video poker machines right at the Cromwell entrance with the following games and pay tables.

Game Pay Table Return
Jacks or better 9,6 99.54%
Bonus poker 8,5 99.17%
Double bonus 9,7,5 99.11%
Deuces wild 25,16,10 99.73%
Joker poker -- kings 940,18,7 99.29%
Triple double bonus 9,7 99.58%
Deuces wild bonus poker 25,9,4,4,3 99.45%
Deuces and joker wild 25,12,9,6 99.07%

As far as I know, these are the best video poker pay tables on the Strip. I welcome correction on that.

Also worth mentioning is the craps is 100x odds.

The question for the poll is will this change your gambling behavior (multiple votes allowed)?

p.s. Choice #7 should read "It won't last until Thanksgiving."

I haven't set foot in that building since it was the Barbaric Coast. I've read on VpFree that its video poker was as lousy as on the rest of the Strip, so this would be a surprise. I would definitely play it, just to get in some play and join the slot club. That's all I would do, though.

Did you happen to see if play on those machines earned Crom Points or whatever?

940/18/7 KoB Joker Poker = 99.29%. 98.94% is the 800 for 1 Royal version.

From Wynn to Mandalay Bay these are definitely the best payback games at single line for quarters. Circus Circus still offers the 8/5 Aces and Eights with progressive royals and sequential royals at the 50c level (100.25%+prog.). It's 7/5 at the quarter level (99.10%+prog.).

They have lasted at Cromwell for almost a year now. A lot longer than I expected. What I wonder is, would they get a lot more play if they didn't insist on all the games being 99%+ and they offered 9/6 DDB (98.98%)? Or they could have gave a 99%+ version of DDB with either DDB Plus (99.44%), DDB Aces with Faces (99.46%), or one I really would like to try, 9/6 DDB Red and Black (99.67%).

lol

Those machines are $50 per tier credit instead of the usual $10. Probably only worth putting your card in if you plan to gamble significantly at something else.

The machines and craps tables are right next to each other... great place to spend some low HE time. Important to note that while they have 3-4 tables up front, there's one table way in the back that they open when the place really gets hopping.

With that said, they've destroyed me at both craps and VP. I've had extremely bad luck there.

I'd also like to point out that I've gotten particularly bad ratings there.

I played these machines last year.
I'm glad to hear they are still around
I was under the impression you earn zero credits playing this machine
I remember NY NY had a 25cent 99.54 machine. It had no slot for a players card.
Its just a forum. Nothing here to get obsessed about.

I should have known that there was no such thing as a Strip casino that wasn't owned by CET or MGM.

I hope the slot club is cromulent.

Tropicana, Cosmopolitan, Casino Royale, Treasure Island, Venetian, Palazzo, Wynn, Encore, SLS, Stratosphere are the only non-MGM/CET casinos on the strip I believe. Aztec Inn if you want to count that too...

CC is technically owned by MGM, so I left it out... But they do have a separate players' club. The red-headed stepchild of MGM.

Not many redheads there.

But doesn't CC do well?

it'll last forever there because of $50 coin-in per point.
not worth it if you're playing for Caesars tier credits.

planet Hollywood dstp (9/5 JoB) @ 99% is better because of standard $10 coin-in per point.

100x odds is nice because Casino Royale went down to 3/4/5x. :(

Yes I think tied for the best. I think TI hs 50 Cent 9/6 JoB too, near the High Limit room.

Fair enough. For Caesars tier credits you shouldn't be playing in Las Vegas anyway.

However, for free play "purchased" at the Great Gift Wrap Up, for those who don't need any more tier credits this year, playing it off at 25c NSU gives you the best bang for your buck. This assumes you either have a small amount to play off and/or put a low value on your time.
