Anthony Curtis (OK take it for what is worth) is reporting another name change in July for the property. He covers his butt saying it is a rumor, but it would be hard to find a worse name.

I have sorta grown to accept the name. CET hates to spend money on useful things, so if they do change the name again, they better outdo Cromwell.

FOCH Q's on The Strip (Flamingo, O'Sheas, Cromwell, Harrah's, Quad collectively on that block, of course; what were YOU thinking?). lol...

Honestly I think The Quad is a great name. Considering their target audience of poor college kids...it's the quad! Like the quad at a college...

Given recent trends, I predict "The Q" <sigh>

Changing the name of a central Strip casino is not trivial. While it won't cost a great big truckload of money to do so, the amounts that will be expended are considerable. I can't imagine doing so unless there were a good reason for it.

Ya know - the last time I was in Vegas I went with my cousin to the Quad sports book and, although it was small, it was clean and I liked the HD projected games onto the flat wall.. Everyone raves about the Caesars sports book (which I suppose is iconic) but, the televisions are not even HD (at least the times I had been there).

How about "The Adios", or "Guzzle and Swill" (in deference to O'Shea's). But I'll take "Red Beard's" aarrrrg.

I think they should name it the Horseshoe. They already have the brand. Wouldn't center strip be the perfect location to highlight it? Before the renovations I could understand not wanting to taint the brand image, but a fully new property would be a perfect opportunity.

The Low Roller.

As a low roller, I find your suggestion insulting...lol I mean, there's low, and then there's the Quad...from what I've heard Four Queens is the Ritz-Carlton, by comparison.

I actually feel the same way - I was surprised at how well the renovations at The Quad had turned out (and the entire Linq for that matter). Now, they clearly haven't finished. When we were on the high roller, my fiance looked down at the back sections of the Quad which still had the Chinese-style sweeping roofs and said "which hotel is THAT?" I had to explain that it's the former Imperial Palace, i.e. the faux Asian style architecture.

Quad = 4 = death to Asians

Apparently they have a major problem getting Asians to gamble there.

Wow. What were the odds of that?

You'd think that somebody in some boardroom would have mentioned it. It just goes to show just how little they understand their customer.

Now, even if they change the name, Asians will still avoid it because it USED to be associated with "four"...

I do like the new casino at the Quad better (though I dind't play there). The Linq, though a good idea, seems phoney. The portion of Fremont St. under the canopy and lights is a real portion of a city, with casinos, small shops, etc distributed as they were put up, land sold or leased, etc. The Linq strikes me more as a Dinseyland "street." It's cute, it's clean, it's nice, but it's just another shopping mall.

Quad to be renamed "LINQ." Sorry if this has already been brought up; I searched the first few pages of recent posts and didn't see anything.

People were definitely confused before about what the LINQ is/was....it was just that open air alleyway of shops, anchored by the High Roller. Now it's an actual casino/hotel/building. Okay, whatever. Maybe more Asians will show up now.

I'm just wondering if they'll ever change the aisan-style roof architecture...

Last Wednesday night when I dropped by somehow the air conditioning was turned off or went out of service temporarily. It was absolutely unbearable especially when it was 100F outside. Yet the folks just kept on gambling. LOL. Really like what they done with the surrounding area leading up to the High Roller. Very lively compared to before when it was just a big desolate open space. Stopped by Fukuburger out of the blue since got hungry roaming around. Awesome Tamago burger!
