Please feel free to utilize this thread for any information that you have related to Comps at the M resort.
It would probably be helpful to indicate whether the information is first-hand or not.

I've been informed that One-Hundred-Dollar action at a craps table for four hours would be likely to earn me a weekend comped room. I would assume that lower action would suffice for a Monday-Thursday room.

Frankly, I am pretty sure that 100.00 for four hours would get me more than just a comp'd room, but all the host indicated was a Fri-Sat Comp'dRoom.

As with most casinos, hosts tend to be non-committal and want to actually SEE your action and then let you know how much they like you.

I visited the M in early Nov. and put through about 6000 pt of VP in a day and a half, including a royal the last day. Yesterday I received a mailer from them offering 2 free days and a buffet for Jan thru March. I generally play VP on the .25 to $1 machines and some craps.

I asked a personal friend of mine who happens to be a host out at M and was told the same thing. $100 action gets a comped room. M is a beautiful casino but they really set their sights to high. They aren't a strip casino yet they keep trying to act like one of the big boys.

Excuse my ignorance in craps, but if I play $10, Pass Line bet, Full Odds, and 2 Come Bets with full odds, so ~$150 at play on each roll (assuming 3x, 4x, 5x), is the comp determined by the $30 that has a house edge, or the $150?

Also, is the $100 figure good for blackjack also?

They generally do not count odds for comps.

The M has an exceptionally liberal comp policy and they do, indeed, figure odds into your average bet to qualify for comps.

So does the newly opened Cosmopolitan. It may be some sort of new trend that casinos are recognizing the odds bets as "action". I think its high time it happened.

It would be nice to see them only count the pass/come bet but then comp you according to how you did overall. So if you lost 5k (because of the odds) they might comp you more and if you win 5k (again, because of the odds) they might comp you less. It might annoy people, but it sounds like a fair way to do it.

Back in the days when it was hand written records kept on file cards casinos never recorded wins or losses, they only recorded the money that had been wagered. It was the "action" that they wanted. They didn't care if you won or lost.
Now ofcourse its easier for them to keep records, but they still care primarily about your action, not whether you won or lost.

Flea is absolutely right. I can't speak for Cosmo but I do know the primary thing the M looks at is amount wagered and time played. They will give consideration to amount lost too but never look at if you won when evaluating comps. The M will comp table players daily regardless of theo as long as they played. Now, it isn't for the premium restaurants or daily buffet (unless you play to that level), but they will give you a comp to the deli.

Free drinks in the sportsbook?

The nearby bars have two dollar and five dollar drinks. The five dollar happy hour cocktails are generous and happy hour is early.
The nearby soda machines just outside the deli are free.
The parking is great, I hear. Parking entrance right next to Sports and Race Book.

I think you have to actually be giving them action though to get drinks, not sure.
Does anyone know the current situation at The M ?

Are the free soda machines still there? I read on one of the forums where they removed them.

The free soda machines had to be a negative for the cocktail waitresses, who I've heard are quite sexy.

Those cola machines don't affect the cocktail waitresses in the least. Every casino in the Midwest has them, and the C.W.'s are as busy as ever.

The Tray Lizards at the M are all knockouts. They are not bad at Southpoint but The M Resort is clearly in first place.

The Tray Lizards don't have to bother with soft drinks or ice water and it saves the Tray Lizard some steps.

I've heard of lounge lizards, corner lizards, and park lizards. But I don't think that is a real phrase. Find one reference on the internet!
