I just earned Total Rewards Diamond status and it will expire 4/1/14 and will not extend to 3/31/15 as Caesars Entertainment used to do. Any happy campers? Maybe casino watchdog Anthony Curtis of the Las Vegas Advisor or The Wizard of Odds can get to the bottom of this and reveal the truth of this dramatic downgrade of the once mighty Total Rewards program. I know Caesars Entertainment’s CEO Gary Loveman stated customers demanded the changes, which I believe is BS. Our Total Rewards Tier Credits resets at zero on January 1 and we have till March 31 every year to regain Diamond (or Seven Stars) to be effective April 1. Can Caesars Entertainment do anything right?

According to the Total Rewards website it states, “Diamond Aspiration levels are based on your 2013 Tier Score, and the privileges of each level you reach can be enjoyed through March 31, 2014.” Total Rewards link [https://www.totalrewards.com/TotalRewards/RewardsAndBenefits.do?page=trBenefits#howdoiearnthem[/link

The Diamond Aspiration levels include all forms of Total Rewards Diamond status. Here is the explanation in Caesars own words…

ASPIRATION Level 1: 15,000 Tier Credits Unlock a $100 Celebration Dinner to treat yourself and anyone else you want to invite for any occasion you choose. Also, gain access to a VIP Services team and VIP Hotline to handle all of your upcoming reservations and provide world-class service to you when visiting any of our casino resorts.

ASPIRATION Level 2: 40,000 Tier Credits Unlock an additional complimentary four-night stay at any Total Rewards destination. This is on top of any offers or comps you receive based on your play.

ASPIRATION Level 3: 80,000 Tier Credits Unlock an Annual Retreat to any Total Rewards destination with a $750 airfare credit, invitation to a NYE party, VIP round-trip airport transportation within 50 miles, Companion Card to share your priority service benefits with a friend, early check-in/late check-out, upgrade to best available room at check-in, as well as waived fees on check cashing and credit card advances.

Diamond Aspiration levels are based on your 2013 Tier Score, and the privileges of each level you reach can be enjoyed through March 31, 2014. Some restrictions may apply. Please see Total Rewards Center for complete details.

Caesars Entertainment is in a world of hurt being $20 billion in debt. The recent changes of the Total Rewards program encourages Diamond hopefuls to rack up 2500 Tier Credits to gain a 5000 bonus for 24 hours of play. You can achieve Diamond status in just two days. Just don’t do it in December where you enjoy the perks till March 31 of the next year. You will be demoted to Gold on April 1 if you gave them no action after. It’s a money grab by our friends at Caesars Entertainment!

Keep in mind it is actually "easier" to reach the higher tier levels now if you budget your gambling money over multiple days and make use of the bonus tier credits.

Are you sure that applies to the basic diamond level. I believe that they are referring to aspiration levels only. If someone made seven star on 12/31/13 and it was only good until 03/31/14 they would be very unhappy.

All Diamond Aspiration levels expire 4/1 of every year if the Tier Credits are not earned from 1/1 - 3/31. Seven Stars benefits are extended another year according to website http://www.sevenstarsinsider.com/. It says " all the Seven Stars benefits – including the annual trip and celebratory dinner – through March 31 of the following year, plus a full year's worth of benefits starting the next day and continuing through March 31 of the following year."

Conversely, the Caesars Entertainment's Total Rewards website states "The Seven Stars card expires annually on March 31. To be considered for an invite the following year, 150,000 Tier Credits must be achieved in the current calendar year and your Total Rewards account must be in good standing." It appears our friends at Caesars are preparing to eliminate its Seven Stars members if they don't rack up 150,000 Tier Credits in the first three months of every year.

I didnt think that was true so I called Total Rewards and asked them. They said you do not have to earn 150,000 tier points in the first three months of 2014 to be extended if you have earned the 7Stars rank in 2013.

To put it another way: If you earned 150,000 tier points in 2013 and your account is in "good standing" meaning you've paid your markers, you didn't punch a dealer in the mouth, and you haven't danced on the blackjack tables, or thrown the dice from the craps table like a hail mary pass... then you will be automatically extended on April 1, 2014 for another year of "7Stars" until March 31, 2015.

THe way it works is your ancillary benefits, ie. trips $100 food credit expire, but if you make Diamond in 2013, you are Diamond until April 1 2015.

So we agree that Diamond cards expire on 4/1 if the Tier Credits are not earned from 1/1 to 3/31 of that calender year, right? But those are the same words said in the Seven Stars FAQ on the Total Rewards website. I'd believe what is written, not what is said on the phone by a Total Rewards employee. I hope we can get to the bottom of this with an explanation from Caesars Entertainment's CEO Gary Loveman.

According to the Total Rewards FAQ, "The Seven Stars card expires annually on March 31". When I tried to post the link on this site https://www.totalrewards.com/e-totalrewards/content/sevenstars/sevenstars-faq.html, it did not go to that page. See if it works for you. So what are they trying to hide? Annually means every year, as I've been saying here. So I decided to make a video to record that page and give my take on the Caesars Total Rewards loyalty program changes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AF3mkR0REv8

I just called Total Rewards and they confirmed that Diamond (and I assume Seven Stars) cards will expire on April 1, 2014, if no Tier Credits are accumulated from 1/1/14 - 3/31/14. With Seven Stars, the Total Rewards FAQ on its website states, "The Seven Stars card expires annually on March 31. To be considered for an invite the following year, 150,000 Tier Credits must be achieved in the current calendar year and your Total Rewards account must be in good standing." To translate, Seven Stars member status expires after March 31, 2014 and they must accumulate 150,000 Tier Credits in that current calender (1/1/14 - 3/31/14) to continue to be a Seven Stars member on April 1, 2014.

I don't think you're translating that correctly. The 2013 card expires on 3/31/14. You'd be invited into the program for the following (2014) year if you earned 150,000 points in the current (2013) year, and the 2014 card would expire on 3/31/2015.

Right if you earn 15,000 points by the end of 2013 your card is good through 3/31/2015.

This is and old thread but could someone explain to me how the total rewards credits work? I was thinking of applying to get the TR Visa because it gives a 10,000 RC bonus but is that even worth anything? If I go to Gordon Ramsay Streak or something and try to pay for the meal with RC, will I get laughed out of there. I have heard everything from 2 to 1, 10 to 1, 100 to 1. I believe it is probably like 100-1000 dollars worth of comps but figured I would ask actual TR members to give me the breakdowns.

Thanks in advance.

100 RC = 1 dollar, so basically every RC is one penny. That 10,000 RC bonus would be equivalent to $100 in comp dollars, but some things (such as higher end restaurants) will only allow you to redeem at a 2:1 basis, meaning your $100 is really only worth $50. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the heads up. Guess it doesn't seem worth it to charge 750 for 100 in comps unless I could pay it all off in 1-2 months. Think the card has like a 23% apr or something.

Is the automatic Platnium worth it? I heard the 15-20 dollar resort fees get taken off and you get a free Buffet pass for 2 among other things.

Buy a gift card for somewhere you spend that much (groceries, gas, etc) that's how I earned my Southwest free flights bonus,.

That's a good idea. You can also buy Bluebird pre-paid gift cards or send a friend or relative an Amazon Payment and have them pay you back.

It's probably worth it if you really want to eat at Ramsay's. Nobody will laugh at you for using your reward credits there. 1:1 ratio, so it's like having a $100 comp (including alcohol).

I'm Platinum and I hit Diamond for next year, Your resort fees are waived with your Platinum card and you get to cut in line at check-in and Buffet's. Also go to the Cosmo and they will give you an auto upgrade to their Gold Card. Just show them your Platinum card.

I got the card when it was first offered. Not a bad deal. 2x points for gas, so it's now my gas card. Charge everything not comped to your room, pay room bill with card, 5x points. I haven't seen the partial point thing. Ate at Old Homestead, full point redemption.

It would not if it gets refunded to you.

The biggest AP type play in this regard..... Years ago, you could buy Savings Bonds with a credit card. For that short period of time, when your card offered a bonus like "spend $5000 and get double points", I bought around $60,000 in such bonds. I believe you had to wait around a year to cash in the bonds to be credited with the interest, so you did need some cash that could be tied up. Back then the the 120,000 points were around 5 round trip tickets anywhere in the US.

Currently I get 415 of free table plays essentially every three days. !0 cycles per month X 415= 4150 a month. The problem apart from getting butt raped every time I play, is the drive. Lexington to New Albany's Horseshoe Indiana 80 miles. From Horseshoe Indiana to Baltera 60 miles. Baltera to Horseshoe Cincy 25 miles. Cincy back to Lexington 80 miles. 245 mile drive for 415 dollars of free play. Could be done in 5 or so hours.

But is worth the effort? Gas 35 bucks. Wear and tear on car. Dealing with law enforcement....yada,yada,yada

FYI, from what I've read, they've gutted Horseshoe Indiana for VP. VPFree2 has got conflicting reports about it. Dunno about Cincinnati's status.

Ok good. Everything else I have read said they were all gone. Maybe they meant new units have none of these games, but all the old units still have them? That's the way it is in Tunica. Most of the old units are gone, but the ones left mostly have "good" games.

Cincinnati still has 9/6 Job at $2 and $5 credits. Indiana has one 9/6 job at $2 in the whole place, all other $2 and $5 machines are 8/5. New machines at Indiana have downgraded bonus poker at $2 and $5 level from 8/5 to 7/5 and have removed the 'double up' feature that I played often.
