I've been spending the week in New Orleans and my hotel is about half a mile away from Harrahs. I played some craps, crapless craps (accidentally) and even rapid craps. First, I liked their tables. The crew was nice and they never said anything when I missed the back wall, which ended up being several times, which surprised me since I'm one of those stupid dice controllers. I had a few good rolls, but when the table was bumped up to $15, it hurt the bankroll. I did walk away $100 ahead the first day.

The next day I tried rapid craps. What an incredibly boring game. Rapid is not a good name for it, haha. I was almost immediately down $20 for this $3 game, but the shooter after me went on a good roll and I was $24 ahead. Took this to the real dice table, placed 6 & 8 for $12, and the shooter rolled 6 sixes, putting me up $100 for the day.

Going back down soon after I post this..

I know this is a old thread but I though I'd ask a question here instead of starting a new one. Has anyone been to Harrah's NO recently? I'm interested in craps minimums and BJ conditions. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

I was there in April. The blackjack is not good. The main floor is 8 decks H17 and no surrender. High limit is 6 decks with the same rules. Both games cut off at least two decks. There is also a double deck game in the high limit room that isn't worth playing.

The casino is crowded and smoky and there are hustlers and con artists walking around, male and female if you get my drift. Sometimes it's hard to tell. If you look young have your ID ready as soon as you walk in.

Where are you staying, Mikey? Will you be at Harrah's or the French Quarter? Don't worry about the blackjack - you're in NOLA! It's one of our favorite places.

After April 21? not as smoky as the casino went completely non-smoking and per CET not as crowded as they claim a 16% reductions in gaming revenue.

I'll be staying in the garden district. Just a couple miles from Harrahs. My first visit to NOLA. I was hoping to get in a little craps play in the evening and possibly some BJ. I've heard that all their craps tables are $15 min. I'm hoping they will at least have a $10 open when I am there.

Check out the ST. Charles Avenue street car. The tracks were under construction and may be through summer but you can still take it.

That street car comes within a block of our hotel. We plan to take it and hopefully not have to drive much while we are there. Looking forward to it!!

And Mothers is so worth it if you go later in the day after the crowds. At 3pm you can walk right in and get a Ferdi. If you like craft beers great options are around like Tin Roof, Bayou Tech, Lazy Magnolia and Nola. For the most part Abita is local Bud quality but Wraught Iron is a decent IPA. Have fun!

We drove down to New Orleans a few weeks ago on a little family vacation.

We had plans to enjoy lunch at Fuddrucker's inside Harrah's, but they stopped us at the entrance and said we couldn't go inside since we had kids with us. I explained to them that we were just going to the restaurant to eat, but they said it didn't matter and that kids could not enter the casino for any reason.

I had thought that you could take kids to a casino property as long as you didn't loiter on the gambling floor and were just going to restaurants or shows, but I guess that is not always the case!
You serious, Clark?

Different states have different rules, I know that is the case in Vegas but in places like MO or IL someone under 21 just stepping on the casino floor can get the casino fined.

In Louisianna I believe the rule is no kids in the casino area. Some casinos have the casino section roped off or on a boat. The restaurants are outside the casino section usually. However that New Orleans casino has the id check right at the door, so the whole place is off limits to kids.
