.
All fables and parables are fictional, their point is to teach a lesson not to report on history. The Bible is full of good lessons in this respect.

I especially like the lessons where:

If you see your neighbor working on Sunday, kill him.
If you see a homosexual, kill him.
If you see a sorceress, kill her.
If you see a false prophet, kill him.
If you have a medical emergency, go to church rather than the hospital.
Slavery is not wrong.

That worked out real well for the dude who got bitten by the rattler and refused to go to the hospital as he was sure that the lord would save him.......

We all know how that ended :)

Always put the snake in the bush.

reminds me of that story where someone helps a snake in exchange for the snake to repay the kindness back and be nice. after the person was done helping the snake. The snake immediately bits the person. The person asks the snake how he could turn on him. the snake says, what did you expect? You knew that I was a snake when you me.

I should also mention that Terapined has withdrawn his Voluntarily Resignation, and the Suspension List has been updated to reflect the date of his return. Thus, Terapined's return, the AMS288 ban and GR8Player's Voluntary Resignation are all pertinent topics to this thread at this time, no other topic is pertinent.

I was actually on vacation in Vegas for most of my ban and didn't even realize it til the end.

B9 called me a hypocrite in one thread. He couldn't back it up with evidence. I got mad and called him a lowlife liar. I got banned for 7 days. I can understand why. I'm not mad.

After my 7 day suspension I was prepared to come back and flag all of his posts attacking me (he had started referring to me as "LL" for lowlife liar), but he had been nuked by that time so it saved me the trouble...

I have no time for "trolls" so if he returns I will avoid falling for the trap of engaging with him and hopefully the board will be a more civil place.

He's been un-nuked, so you may want to retake plan A.

Just saying.

I was really, truly shocked his first suspension took as long as it did. I mean, geez... there was a stretch where he took to writing "s2pid" instead of "stupid" and made his sig "I hate s2pid arguments." Even before the rule change, how did that not cross the line?

Who cares? That's why it wasn't crossing the line. My hunch is that the attempt to create a high level of decorum is bourne of a desire for people to quit complaining about every little inconsequential thing.
