First, let me say that I have tremendous respect for Mike and enjoy working for him in this administrator job!
A few days ago I made a post that stated my ruling that terapined had not imported "drama" per se into the WOV forum and that no suspension was warranted. A few hours after that, Wizard (unaware of what I had done) posted that terapined had imported drama from another forum and suspended him for 3 days. whoops! Not a big deal, IMO.
terapined has since posted that he was not at all upset about the 3 day suspension but Wizard genuinely felt bad that he had had not communicated appropriately and unintentionally made a different ruling than the one that I had publicly made. When Wizard told me he intended to take a suspension as penance I told him that I felt that was completely unnecessary and that I wasn't angry in the slightest.. But he has self-suspended anyway in an excess of ethical virtue. And left me looking a bit like the villain in his suspension, LOL.
I wonder if the fact that Wizard's self-suspension from the forum occurs at the same time as the total eclipse is a complete coincidence? Dunno. Let's just go with the flow.

Usenet newsgroups was a blast as people with the same interests gathered in the early internet years until spammers and trolls wrecked the party
One of my favorite places to post these days is Reddit
That place covers just about any topic I have an interest in and the informative responses are educational
I participated in several different anti scientology forums over the years. Scientology actually came on a forum and doxxed me. I was a out in the open critic so it didn't bother me.
One forum had a great idea since discussions got very heated even among those that are anti scientology
They created the thunderdome
A special area of the forum blocked from the public where anything goes. Everybody recommended not going in the thunderdome because many came out with scars and were livid.
Maybe we need a Thunderdome here

Romes was released from suspension the doghouse on time. (The records were not properly updated.)
Wizard can effect his own prison break once he has satisfactorily demonstrated his contrition.
My suggestion to renew the practice of selling indulgences has, sadly, not been approved. I think it would be a real time-saver.

All the posts have been believable
We often get these stories of people that say they can beat the casino consistently on a negative game here
It's just normal not to believe those stories
Some members get obsessively defensive to the point of insulting somebody when confronting a normal reaction of not believing

I’ll agree with UJ here. Terapined, your post had the clear intention of poking at those whose silly claims you have derided in the past. They know who they are. You were NOT thinking Varmenti.
That being said, I find MDawgs ability to scour through decades of old posts and come up with one to exemplify his point quite remarkable.
I forgot which thread this is. If it’s the ‘terapined’ thread, I think his journey is quite remarkable. I distinctly remember meeting Ed in Florida while he still owned a house, and he mentioned in vague terms the idea he was planning. By ANY standard it’s been a total success.
I hope he chooses not to escalate this silly tiff and get suspended. I for one enjoy his street art photos and other travel stories.

I can recall going about 30 days without a suspension, at the beginning of this year from early February to early March. But then sometimes we seem to have almost a dozen suspensions in a week or so.
Edit: Since the beginning of 2017 this seems to be the longest interval (38 days) without a suspension:
sabre 10/13/20 5 days Personal insult/profanity

The small space I do not see the biggest issue with. I have learned to live small. I would not want the hassle of driving the big thing and the 8 gallons to the mile it gets. I'd rather stay at youth hostels.

Did it once to say I did it. Kind of a minimum security prison fantasy camp. You had to be smart about keeping your stuff secure. If I was young and seeing Europe or Asia I would consider it. Good part is you met some people. Bad part was bunking with 4-5 others at night. I have also done the singles cruise thing where they match you up to share a room. The roommate they gave me was not bad. I might have been predisposed to dealing with that as in my management career I had to bunk up with a roommate many times at meetings and conferences. Some I knew a bit some I had never met before.

Back when I had the cab company I had the luggage concession for Northwest Airlines at the airport. I got to know some of the airport police and they told me stories about how women would periodically come to their office and report some guy following them around the airport. Apparently all she had done is made eye contact with them or made the grave mistake of smiling at them and that's all it took. They were madly in love and thought they were looking at their future wife. This is before stalking laws and I totally understand why they put those laws in place.
