I'm sure if the entire casino was on strike there may be loopholes but it's only a smaller percentage - less then 1/3
The people I feel for are that amazing Italian restaurant il Mulino and the wine store - neither are owned by the taj so basically you could bankrupt a person who started a business as well

That is murkier still, but the reality is 60 days is near meaningless. They have to do something with the progressive and bad beat jackpots if there are any, that can take a few days alone. Which reminds me, where is Worm going to play now?

The union represented 1/3 of (low skilled) employees. They took a shot and lost.
The other 2/3 of the employees got screwed

Just for the record I would not cross the picket line, but I am not a Taj player anyway.

Two points,:

The union supported Obama care yet they screamed when it looked like they had to be part of it.

The $100,000,000 in construction renovation jobs that Icahn was going to invest after November when the casino bill fails, is now never going to happen.

Bad bet by McDivitt for his union, but in the end does he care? Does he still get paid by the union? Does he have a car provided by the union? Does he have a union expense account? I do not know the answer to any of these questions, but the other union leaders I have seen in my day all had some great perks

ALL unions are a joke!

Exactly, we wouldn't need unions with a $15 minimum wage.

I don't believe this. There are plenty of companies such as Costco and Trader Joe's that start their employees at a living wage with benefits, and still keep their prices competitive.

You aren't paying retail in these places either.

Trader Joe's in certainly retail. In either case it's possible. It may mean the CEO and executives make a $600k instead of $10mil, but tough shit.

One place isn't the bearer of all. Trust me, you'll pay more overall when minimum wages go up.
