Poor traffic and high maintenance that's why they are closing. I have heard that it does not earning profit and the expenses operating it is bigger than earnings. It is best to close it down but make sure to pay its customers before it truly shutdown.

Seems mission got lucky with a decent room, but there were so many bad reviews online. I can't help but think this had a big impact on the poor traffic. I had some room offers there but I was always afraid to stay there wondering and worrying about how bad and dirty the hotel rooms might be.
I remember seeing a YouTube video of people complaining about a high priced suite that was just disgusting and the manager didn't see a problem with the place. When you go to a casino hotel, the rooms are supposed to be a step up from your home and not steps down. Maybe the chairman's tower rooms were nice, don't remember, but seems people were in for it at Taj.
They tried to kill us, Jimmy. They did. They're dirty f**king cops! *photo is not of an AP, just a morbidly obese hill billy. Jar Jar Binks was supposed to be the Sith Lord . Nathan is going to run and own this place

Wanted to close earlier but have to give the workers 60 days by law. You know, protect those who walked out and left the owner with little choice.

I believe it's the workers still on the job that are entitled to the 60 day notice.

You may be right. Either way the strikers didn't help anyone by harassing customers trying to support the place. Sad all around, no winners here.

I am not sure how it works with a strike. If they wanted to close tomorrow they probably could, but they might be figuring it is not worth the legal risk especially with a union friendly administration in power. The probably have so many days of food and other supplies to burn off anyways.

I remember when the 60 day law was passed, it took a few years to really bite because congress passed the law but then nobody really knew how and who would enforce it.

They could not close down tomorrow. They have to give the workers 60 days notice. That's what happened to me.

I was a supervisor in the data center for a fortune 500 company. They were starting to downsize. One day my boss came into my office and told me that I was being "INVOLUNTARILY TERMINATED". A politically correct term for YOU'RE FIRED. They were afraid that I would do something to sabotage the data center. I was told to pack my things and they escorted me out the door. I was told that I would be paid for the next 60 days.

In hindsight, without going into details, it was the best thing that ever happened to me.

ALL unions are a joke! Unions are why you pay so much for EVERYTHING you buy, from groceries to cars.

Paid celebrity endorsements is the other reason for high costs of products.

The 60 days notice thing is just when the entire plant or employer closes. A single person does not have to be given that notice. That being said, if the union is on strike there is probably a loophole in there somewhere. Been 25 years since I had the college class on Collective Bargaining. Very touchy areas.
