Starting last night I received this message when I tried to get to WOV using FireFox:

Quote:

An error occurred during a connection to wizardofvegas.com. Peer’s Certificate has been revoked. Error code: SEC_ERROR_REVOKED_CERTIFICATE

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

So I tried MS Edge and got:

Quote:

Can’t connect securely to this page
This might be because the site uses outdated or unsafe TLS security settings. If this keeps happening, try contacting the website’s owner.

But I can still get in with Chrome.

If it's something on my end and anyone has a suggestion on how to fix it please let me know.

This problem had been intermittent using Microsoft Edge, but has been consistent since yesterday. I downloaded Google chrome finally and am back without the message blocking me.

Back to problems with Google Chrome now and Microsoft Edge. I'm on my phone now.

I've sent a trouble message to the lead tech this morning. Haven't heard back yet, but wanted to let you folks know.

Appreciate specific reports on what OS is working and what isn't, and and on what platform.

I am on Chrome on Android phone and am not experiencing any of these issues, so if you know someone who can't get on, and are talking to them via other means, they might try Chrome.

I'm aware of the problem and have alerted the powers that be. This happened before when I was still running the show. The issue then was that I needed a "security certificate." I just had to pay my money to get one and the problem was resolved.

I know that if you're experiencing this problem now, then you're not reading this, but I do welcome anyone who needs a temporary fix to come over to Diversity Tomorrow.

we r looking into this. Our security certificate is set to expire and to be auto-renewed next month on the 14th. So not sure why Edge and FF are acting up.

stay tuned

apparently GoDaddy thinks they have ceased operation.

Serial Number: 9113f1538fc0b3d9
Revocation Date: 8/14/2018 4:00 PM
Extensions: 1
2.5.29.21: Flags = 0, Length = 3
CRL Reason Code
Cessation of Operation (5)

As for why IE and Firefox look at and respect that file, and Chrome and Safari do not, I don't know.

howto:
get the certificate info. I did this through Chrome, click on the Secure icon in the URL bar, click on certificate (valid)
from there, go to details and CRL Distribution Points. click on that.
download the file it points to, for example crl. godaddy. com / gdig2s1-696.crl
use windows Certutil to decode it: certutil.exe -dump gdig2s1-696.crl > cert.dump.txt
in the cert details again, get the serial number
search the dump file for the serial number. skip the leading zeros, I ended up searching byy using '0b3d9' at the end of the serial number to find the record.

It did work on Chrome earlier but then, after 5pm BST, suddenly didn't. The workaround I'm using is Firefox and setting an exception.

Well, seems Chrome on Android is just catching up now with these issues. Screenshot below. Clicking "Advanced" gives another warning but also a Proceed Unsafe link back here.

You guys are way ahead of me on this one, I just sent an E-Mail to everyone and am using Chrome. The first I experienced it was five minutes ago, it lets me override the security thing manually, but kicks me back to the security screen almost every single time I do something.

Yeah, hit Chrome at 9:06 am Vegas time. I was just on a minute before that.

Edit: the advanced warning says that the certificate is for wizardofodds.com instead of wizardofvegas.com, and that mismatch is the issue.

Using firefox I was denied access to both WOO and WOV due to certificate issues all day yesterday but was able to gain access this afternoon.

Also denied with cert revocation.
I will offer that certain browsers are notorius for NOT clearing their caches when exiting the browser. Safer setups will clear the cache. Those that were able to login used the old cache, which then defaulted to a no-security login.

I would humbly recommend those folks that DID login while the site was "closed" to change their passwords.
