I just came across this approved game, which had just passed a field trial at the Rampart.
It's a Baccarat variant that's dealt BJ style.
Rules - How to Play (HTP):

The game is dealt just like traditional Blackjack.
Two cards are dealt to the player with one card face up & two cards to the dealer; one card face down first then one card face up.
Lucky 9 is a two-card total of 9 without any tens or face cards (Example: Ace - 8, 2 -7, 3 - 6 and 4 - 5) and pays 3 to 2. Lucky 9 ties with a Natural 9 (any tens or face cards and a 9) and wins against all three-card totals of 9. Natural 9 pays even money and ties with any hand totals of 9.
Players not dealt a Lucky 9 have the option to Stand, Hit or Split pairs by making a wager equal to the amount of their original wager. Players may not hit on Lucky 9 or Natural 9. Players may split pairs up to three times for a total of four hands and may only receive one additional card per hand. A Lucky 9 resulting from a split will be paid even money and ties with the dealers Lucky 9 or three-card totals of 9.
After all the players have acted on their hands, the dealer will reveal the down card and hit or stand according to the following rules:
Dealer’s Total Cards Action
0 to 4 Hit
5 to 9 Stand
The player wins even money if his hand total is closer to 9 than the dealer’s hand total, otherwise the player’s wager is a loss. If the player’s hand ties with the dealer’s hand, the wager is neither paid nor collected. The dealer will automatically win if the player’s three-card total is 0, 1, or 2, regardless of the dealer’s hand total.

Abuan Gaming's Lucky 9 table game
Face book Page

It kind of flew in under the radar, which is not desirable for a new game, as you want "buzz!"
At least ping Mike if you have a new game.
But anyway, always interesting to see.
Good luck to them.

Actually, I sadly heard it was pulled for a Baccarat table install.

I live right the Rampart, so I'm surprised I never heard of it. Then again, I seldom have reason to go in there. Since Dan says it got pulled I won't bother with an analysis.

Too bad. This looks like a lot of fun, and with the simple Hit/Stand Rules for the dealer, it is fast-paced AND simple.

I spoke with them at G2E yesterday. They claimed that they had in Rampart for 45 days. Their story was new management took over casino operations and elected to remove it.

The said their percentage drop was 20-25%.

So, I don't if the story is true or not (damage control) regarding Rampart removing their game.

That is the story I got from them at G2E as well. The hold figure they told me was 25.6% which is in the desirable zone for a new game. The key is are you getting a good amount of play (i.e. how was the drop compared to Rampart's worst game on the floor). Unless you can bring incremental play as compared to the worst table on the floor, the hold percentage doesn't do much for you.

Personally I liked the game a lot compared to what else was on the floor at G2E. It feels like a stepping stone for non-asian players to get familiar with the Bacc scoring system in a BJ type dealing structure. Is there a niche for it......don't know, but I think it has a better shot than many of the games at SM's booth.

Lucky 9 had a field trial @ Rampart Casino for 45 days, this is one of the requirements the GCB gave Abuangaming. The GCB usually requires new games 90 to 180 days to complete a Field Trial. After the 45 days, the host casino needs to stop operating the game and submit their recommendation. Lucky 9 also passed the required mathematical analysis by the GCB lab department. Rampart Casino and the GCB reported that the game holds 25.26% and advised that the revenue of the game made more than the other games that they have. Surprisingly, most of their regular players played and enjoy the game. Abuangaming was advised Rampart is in the process of a management change and are planning to put an Asian pit where Lucky 9 will be included.
Abuangaming exhibit the game at G2E and received great reviews from Casino Executives and critics alike.

Luckyman, that is great news! I am a fan of the game and enjoyed playing it at G2E. Keep the forum updated on placements as they happen.

The host casino is still allowed to operate the game during the approval process.

No wonder they kept on operating the game until I asked for my signage and other materials thinking we are violating GCB directives of 45 days field trial.

Many (or most) Indian Casinos in California require a new game be approved by the State first before considering it. Best wishes.

So as to not hijack this thread, UCivan, can you start a thread on this process in CA. I live in CA but my game won't work in CA because it involves dice. I have had a hard time figuring out for other developers what is required to get a game approved by the State of CA. Is there a quick link to the agency that completes this process for the tribal market casino's in CA.

Sorry, can't do. Don;t know too much about how to do it myself; last posting was just a hearsay, wishing to see if anyone knows. I hope someone else would respond.

I had the chance to play your game at Rampart Casino when I last visited Vegas. I actually enjoyed playing the game with my family, wished they have it here in California.

Here is an update on Lucky 9 placement at Harrah's's-Rincon Casino & Resort:
- Harrah's management contacted AG (Abuan Gaming) and negotiate for the placement of the game at their casino floor.
- They advised will take care of the application to the Tribal Gaming Commission but need AG to submit some required documents.
- TGC contacted AG and requested to fill up the forms THEY send. They asked me to provide documents to support the background check they will be conducting.
- Harrah's requested AG to fill up the Vendors Agreement form and required a signed W-9 form from the IRS.

That's all for now,

I like the sounds of this game, but what is the HA? If it is higher than 1% for an even money game, I'll pass. Any side bets on the tie?

I am trying to figure out some of the numbers posted on Lucky 9's site regarding it and other games HA.

As an example, the site has Carribean Stud HA at 1.46%.....Wiz has and House Edge of 5.224% and an Element of Risk of 2.55%.

Craps is listed by Abuan Gaming as 1.58% HA....without taking any odds the House Advantage is 1.41% on the Pass Line and with only single odds it drops to 0.848%

The Let It Ride numbers seems odd as well listed by AG as 2.4%. Wiz has an HE of 3.51% & doesn't list an EOR. I found EOR listed at 2.8% on another site which would indicate approx. 1.25 units in play per hand which seems reasonable. To get to 2.4% EOR you would need 1.45 units in play on average and that seems high based on my experience with LIR.

My thought is if some of these numbers appear to be off, how do you trust Abuan Gaming's HA on Lucky Nine?

I have never seen a Baccarat table that deals 72 hands per hour. One shoe takes several hours. Of course the shoe could be dealt in 30 minutes, but the players take forever deciding what to bet, then take forever to look at their cards.

Helpful link. Look about 7/8 of the way down the blog for a table listing the average house edge on many popular games and the average number of hands/bets per hour for purposes of player rating and comps. This may be where Abuan Gaming got their numbers. The average house edge may be a more dynamic figure which factors in the expected value of the median or average betting pattern of all players over other bets on the table than just, e.g., the Craps Pass Line.

NTS, I believe you have found the answer as to where AB did get their information. Since this table is listed as being used for player rating purposes only, I think they should update their site for the more accurate house edges as listed in WoO under the specific games they are listing.

Here is WoO's link for that:

House Edge Listing

Element of Risk info is listed farther down the page as is the same Casino Execs player rating table that was reference in your link as well.

Thank you Sir Paradigm on your suggestion. I will be updating my website soon and post the more accurate house edges. The WIZARD and his associate (CIndy) computed the mathematical analysis of the game, I believe their computation are accurate, Nevada Gaming Control Board agrees and approved the game for play in Nevada.
