hello. I am MK, a table game developer in Korea.
Do casinos have to use trump cards in table games?
The game cards that I developed are not made up of A,2,3,4,5....J,Q,K cards.
According to New York and Pennsylvania casino laws, we have confirmed that you must use a trump card.
I saw that Dominoes, a casino game in Las Vegas, was using a new type of card instead of a trump card, is the standard different by region?

Yes. For general information, see Wikipedia’s Gaming control board.

I don't know but I've seen trial games using customised cards (in the UK). Obviously Pai Gow Poker uses a Joker. Another less obvious one (I don't know whether it's still there) is a version of Blackjack using 8 Aces rather than 4, and AA being the highest hand. Pai Gow Tiles, played in a few places, uses a form of dominoes.

The problem with using a customised deck is people are less used to it and also have to think what they mean.

That's a very nice link.
thank you!!

Even in the United States, in New York and Pennsylvania, the card standard is limited to trump cards.
However, there is no such standard in Nevada casino law.
Are the standards different for each region in the US?

For reference, Singapore and Macau do not have standards for card types, and in the Philippines, even the pattern color of the trump card is written in the casino law.

Yes, each state has different laws.
May the cards fall in your favor.

I'm confused by your use of the term "trump card".

There are games where a specific card, or an entire suit, becomes special and is referred to as "trump", but it has nothing to do with the manufacture or design of the physical cards themselves.

For the record, despite what others appear to be implying, I REALLY do not believe there are regulations about the design of the cards or content of the deck. I DO know that a video machine that uses cards must assign the same randomness to those cards as real cards, but that's not what you're talking about.

On the other hand, casinos will be resistant to custom cards, which I think is part of what you mean. It's fine if you use less than a full standard deck, or even combine parts of multiple decks. But to require them to get special cards will kill the deal.

This is not what I meant to imply.
I apologize for the confusion.

Having read a little, I know that different states have different gaming control authorities with different (but often similar) rules.
I believe that some gaming regulations in some jurisdictions say that cards used in licensed gaming must be procured from approved manufacturers, and the list of approved manufacturers varies between jurisdictions.
May the cards fall in your favor.

I developed a card game about 20 years ago that used a non-standard card deck. There were no restrictions against it but everybody objected to it because it was non-standard. It never even got a trial.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

A game using a new card in Korea is being prepared for release at Land-Based Casino.

Revision of the casino laws is in progress, and the selection of casinos to be launched has been completed.

I'll let you know the progress later. thanks^^
