It's probably a safe bet that the Wizard's followers will give his game high marks.

But I'll try to be as objective as possible.

Of course, you gotta realize that I already gave one of these games a review of "Friggin' Awesome". The bar is set kinda high on my ballot.

See ya next month!

While your at it put Geoff down for +10 on Free Bet ;-).

But wait, those games can't win, they were developed by independents and therefore don't have a chance against SHFL's/Roger's games....

Roger, since you get a ton of emails, The Subject Line should say "Ballot - G2E" so the can quickly be put in a directory.

Thanks for the open invitation, but can't get off work to go. Is there a place online, where I may read about the games in detail? Or, do you have any video clips posted online, demonstrating the games?

The games that Roger is asking us to review are live money table games, and really require live play to evaluate.

Playing the games in person is best.

I want to extend the voting offer to any G2E attendee who is a member of WOV.

Perhaps in return Roger could tell us how these games are doing in real "live play", so we know how far apart WOV member votes are away from the real world :-)))

You're joking, right?

Roger is probably up to his eyeballs in work to prepare for G2E.

Additionally, having them in May and June allowed him to do his own analysis of the best games, etc. As a result some of them are going to be shown in the ShuffleMaster booth. Do you really think that would happen if there was another focus group, say, next week?

Well then this wouldn't really be turning the tables on SHFL, as thread is titled. As some members commented on Focus Group 1 and 2, that playing for real money makes any game(bets) more exciting when there are real stakes are at risk. Something that wasn't done at the Focus Groups. So, it would not be a comparative type of evaluation that was performed on the games in the Focus Groups. Risk for reward, has its own excitement in itself, this is regardless of the game.

This review will be based upon playing the games at the ShuffleMaster booth at G2E.

I.E. It's based upon play using fake chips.

Yes, live play is the best way to evaluate any game. That's called a "Field Trial" and the evaluators are actual gamblers.

I'm still decompressing and catching up on my sleep....

Yeah, House Money BJ and Free Bet BJ are at the top of my list too.

However, as someone who tends to shy away from side bets, I'm giving my vote to Free Money BJ.

In fact, I played it at Golden Nugget Friday night for about an hour or so with Switch sitting at the table, and again on Saturday morning.

FWIW, at GN, Switch was discouraging the playing style I had adopted when playing it at the SHFL booth. (I.E. Capping/pinching bets, swapping cards...)

Shoot, I can't find my notes from the show, but that looks about what I had. Some thoughts:

-House Money and Free Bet were my favorites by far. House money blackjack is awesome. House money baccarat does not really work as well as the BJ version.
-Straight Jack Progressive is just...awful. No more needs to be said.
-I liked the Wizard's game. Not something I would play, but it follows the cardinal rule of taking an existing game and adding one simple tweak (the PaiGowDan method). Works very well, and is fast. It should be a success.
-The stud poker games confounded me, and I didn't really take to them. Too many cards. 6 card fortune was really pretty cool and I like the speed of the game. I hope it has success.
-So my rankings would be: 1. House Money BJ 2. Free Bet BJ 3. Mulligan poker 4. 6 card fortune 5. Stud games. 6. House money Bacc. 8. Straight Jack.

Gotta ask: did you skip 7 just to emphasize your disdain for straight jack? :-)
