CET offers/comps question

When I'm in Vegas next month is it better for me to try and concentrate my play at one casino, or does it matter if I spread it around to different CET casinos? Like for example if I played $200 each at Harrah's, Caesars Palace, Flamingo, Bally's, & Paris, would I receive worse offers than just playing $1000 at one casino? Theoretically I'm playing the same amount of action at the Vegas casinos, but I'm wondering if one method is better than the other.

I'm pretty sure at CET you won't see a difference playing $200@5 casinos or $1000 at one, assuming both are done on the same day.

My impression is that your play would be equal for comps. I get mail for all CET LV casinos, even those I've never played in (like PH) and played in once in 10 years (CP). They seem to rank their comps regardless of the property, and generally offer you a stay at hotels that equal your value to them regardless of where the offer is taking place. (Talking shows, tournaments, outside events, gift cards, whatever).

I don't think, though, that ratings are equal at all casinos, especially for VP and some of the table games. I think they're more generous on some of the machines at their lower-end properties than at the high-end ones. Also at some of the tables, which is more dependent on PB observation/intervention. Just my impression, not verified.

Thanks. Also I found it weird that I booked my room way back in October. So far I have not received any offers for Las Vegas for March. I usually receive tons of emails and offers and zilch for March so far.

If the system continues as it did a few years ago, it may matter which of those Las Vegas area casinos you spread it around to in the same day. You may end up accidentally generating more than one "trip" that day for purposes of the system computing your ADT. They are (or at least still were as recently as a year or two ago) grouped into "pods" in their system, and other casinos in the same pod have an effect like playing at one casino, while casinos in different pods are more similar to taking separate vacations in different regional markets. I don't remember exactly which are in each of the several Las Vegas pods, but one example is that Bally's & Paris would amount to the same thing as one casino, while Harrah's and Paris would amount to two different "trips" as they are in different pods which may lower the average per "trip." But I don't know if the pod groupings have remained consistent, since they've been creating some different shell ownership structures in their repeated financial re-engineering over the last few years. Given the fluid state of the company's structure, personally I'd just choose to do what I enjoyed at the time now without trying to manage the effect in the Total Rewards comp system. Except the one thing I'd avoid doing is needlessly logging in to something at different casinos where I haven't been playing, such as something like possibly playing at Flamingo, and then walking over to Paris and logging in to the Diamond lounge on that property, and then using some comp points to buy something at Caesars Palace.

From what I was told they cut back on marketing during March and April Months. It might just be overall, only time will tell.

Be proactive, if you see a decline in your offers, send a letter complaining, tell them you're taking your play elsewhere.

I was in Vegas last month and was told by host it doesn't matter if you play at one or all of the CET properties. It will all be added together and the combined total will also be you ADT total for that day. It will not hurt futures offers.

I've gotten loads of stuff for March/April. March Madness party, Ceasars Rooms and Elton John Concert (03/23-04-14), Three Nights and $200 dining credit (Now - 03/31), $225,000 Raining Rewards Party (4/17-4/19), Vegas Uncorked Wine Tasting (4/24-4/26), 5 Nights and $200 dining credit (05/3-5/7).

Seems like a new offer every few days.

Yeah, I'm getting a sh*tload of offers. I check every day even twice a day.

We have not stayed at any of their properties in Vegas in almost a year, switching to Cosmo for multiple reasons, and the offers keep coming.

Yet no calls from our host, who treated us good. It's almost like they don't care.

This is pretty common with CET. If you make reservations way in advance they cut back on offers until after your trip.

In Las Vegas it's all pretty much added together to get a Market Daily Value (MDV). There may be some property specific offers though that are based on your ADT exclusively at that property.

Caesars does a lot of bean counting in Jan and Feb. Many players wind up getting no-mailed in March and April each year. It could also be that some of your bigger past plays have fallen off the end of your play history and now they don't deem you to be as valuable to them.

My guess -- they are banking in folks not understanding what a Reward Credit is worth. And I presume there are many who don't.

They'll do anything just for an excuse to send an email. Seems like they value being in your thoughts, but discount the people feeling nagged and feeling the brand means nothing special. If you don't block the fantasy land slots like Slotomania, you'll get so many emails a week.
