This upgrade expires fairly quickly if they mean what they say:

Present your valid, eligible loyalty card from select competitors to any Total Rewards Center between June 1, 2017 and September 30, 2017, and we will upgrade you to Diamond status through January 31, 2018.

Diamond now gives 5 nights/week free. Used to be four nights/week.

Caution: I think free night offers are based on your play, and NOT whether you have achieved Diamond status.

I didn't get to go to any lounges in Vegas, but I frequent the one at Harrah's Philly, and they put out a full spread of food there. More than enough for a full meal.

That is the only one that does that. Usually a decent meal, too. Not sure why they do it there.

There's a lot of value in Diamond. You just operate on a different level.

I'm quite happy with the offers I get.

$100 dinner.
Rooms about 10 nights/month.
Multipliers on play.
Use of the pool, spa, jacuzzis, whether I'm staying there or not.
Special invites to gift parties and events.
Lots of trinkets, like electronics, luggage, jewelry, cruises, etc.
Use of the diamond lounge.
Jump most any line, use VIP services.
Shows, NASCAR and concert tickets.
Some properties pay airfare and transport.

I'm not sure it's worth 7star (never had it), but Diamond has paid for itself every year I've gotten it. About 15 now, though not consecutive. Highly recommend, even as offer value is down a bit last couple of years.

Most of those things are based on play aren't they? I could be wrong, guess I just realize that diamond for even smaller plays seems so easy to achieve - isn't it lime 60k coin in on slots over a year At twice a month that's 3k coin in- I would assume anyone that wants to use diamond plays close to that much. . Basically a 300 cash bankroll players twice a month gets it

for Diamond, you can do $50k coin-in if you do it in 1 day or two $25k days because of the tier bonus points.

you need 8days of $10k coin-in because the bonus points are smaller at that coin-in level.
and 24days at $5k coin-in.

There has also always been some kindof TR bonus at the beginning of the year (at least for the past several years), so depending on how that is structured, you can pick up some bonus Tier Credits.

Caution: I think free night offers are based on your play, and NOT whether you have achieved Diamond status.

The free nights (or lowered prices) are based on play - usually revised once a month. However, you need host approval to get more than 5 consecutive nights (used to be four).

Harrahs bases offers on the amount at each casino where you play.

For example, if you play heavy in another state, you may initially get almost all rooms free in Vegas...
But if you stay a few times in Vegas with little action, the free rooms in Vegas will disappear, but the free/discount rooms at the casinos where you play heavy will still be offered.

Also, since Harrahs allows reservations 1 year in advance, if you play very heavy for a month, then two months later you might want to book Thanksgiving, New Years, and other busy holidays while your offers are high. There didn't used to be a limit, but I think the website now limits you to three open reservations in each area.

Even if your play drops, the already booked reservations stay at the free/lower rates.

In my experience, each time I let my status drop & requalify for Diamond, almost all rooms start out free. But if my play drops, the free rooms decrease & become reduced rates. If play rises, even weekend & busy holiday rooms are free.

you need 8days of $10k coin-in because the bonus points are smaller at that coin-in level.
and 24days at $5k coin-in.

These coin-in requirements are for Video Poker. For slots, you only need 50%.

Diamond - 15,000 Tier points (used to be 12,000 or 10,000).
If you get 5,000 Tier points in a gaming day (varies by property, might be 6 am - 6 am), a 10,000 point bonus will show up in 1 day or so (No special visit to players club required). 50,000 coin-in on Video Poker, or 25,000 coin-in on Slots will achieve DIAD.

If you are paying for a room, restaurants, or shopping, those will add Tier points, but I'm unsure if they register same day...and not sure if they combine with play-earned-points for bonuses. Ask a players club.

$50,000 coin in vp or $25,000 in slots will almost certainly cost me much more than $295.
