Hey guys new to the forums here.. I was wondering if anyone knew roughly how many players points you need to earn with total rewards properties to earn comp flights and hotel... I normally get free airfare and hotel from riverside with only 2k points.. 5$=1 point. I play video poker only. No table games or slots... I’m not trying to “play for comps”.. more like play enough for comps on games that are 98%+

Hi and welcome, JoB96.

Things have tightened up a lot. I used to get flight package offers (from Florida) to TR destinations in Vegas, Laughlin, Reno, Biloxi, Tunica, and Atlantic City pretty much every month, from about 2002 to 2013. I was diamond most but not all of those years. However, even though my play has increased (diamond for all those recent years), I'm only still getting flights to AC, Reno, and Laughlin. The others still make decent offers, but not flights

I think it depends on several things.

1.Most players have noticed a significant tightening.

2.Many of those flights were junkets (CET hired the plane itself) rather than a reimbursement offer for scheduled airline tickets. They seem to be booking less junkets.

3.VP is about as tough a place to earn comps as anything TR has. They keep upping the equivalency, even as they decrease the paytables. (Yes, CET, we're noticing). Table games, some better than others, then slots. There is every indication (but no specific confirmation) that CET takes into account for their algorithms not just HE and wager size, but the type of game you play.

4.Properties have a lot of autonomy in who they invite to things. The VP equivalence varies by location. Properties cultivate steady play after a good initial showing.

My host (sadly, now gone) was very useful in telling me what my profile needed to get me the good offers on a regular basis. Rather than suggesting a dollar amount, I would suggest you approach a host before (or after, ideally) giving them a level of play for a full day that represents your best coin-through at a specific property you want high comps. Ask them to evaluate your play, tell them what you want, and they will usually tell you what you need to do to make that happen.

Warning - my review advice was usually, "play more slots". I look at it as an investment - play a game without skill for an hour or two, lose a bit, average a thousand or two in comp value and free play that same trip (beyond the first).

If you insist on only VP, it will probably be a mind-boggling amount exposed. Maybe someone else here can give you a dollar amount.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

I just got an offer for airfare, hotel, and $200 freeplay for Harrah's North Kansas City. I have no idea why it is from that property as I have never played there and have never received any offers from them before.

Pure speculation, but let me guess. You made some significant play in the area, around St. Louis and Memphis this spring, didn't you? (Referencing your trip thread). They probably exchange play information in regions, looking to draw good players. If you have a non-Midwest address, are Diamond or 7Star, but came to the area without playing them, they want your business.

FWIW, I like that casino very much, have stayed with them a couple dozen times because of family in the area. I would guess it compares to Paris or PH as a better than average CET property, nice rooms, good restaurant choices, decent comps for a year after you visit. And Missouri gaming makes them offer some decent games. They have a fair selection on 2 or 3 floors of a good-sized casino barge. Total swag, 40-50 tables with probably 20 different games, maybe 1200 slots, don't know anything about their VP, but that's all stuff you can find.

Harrah's NKC also has a far above average diamond lounge and a couple decent restaurants. that's good news, because one drawback of the facility is that it's a bit removed from other attractions.

Surprisingly, I didn't play at all on my trips to Memphis and St. Louis. I have no idea how they selected me. I haven't gambled in the Midwest for many years.

I think you'd drive to Rincon, Ak-Chin, Reno, or Tahoe. So NKC is the closest Harrah's property that you'd seriously consider flying to. MCI is also about half-empty, as American, Delta, and Southwest's increased service hasn't made up for TWA's departure. So it's a cheap and easy destination for chartered flights.

Thank you for all the great info that’s too bad to hear everything is declining. As I mentioned above I can come back to Riverside for free with a guest with only running $10,000 through a machine. I have not tried Windover yet would I be able to get the same amount of comps from them?

you are not going to find many places that roll out the red carpet for just 10k in action. Even on a slot machine they are only going to make about 1k from you. For them to give huge comps on that doesnt make financial sense for them. I would expect them to give maybe $300 worth of comps.
Expect the worst and you will never be disappointed. I AM NOT PART OF GWAE RADIO SHOW

I agree 10,000$ is relatively low. The flights to Laughlin uncomped are only 350$. Wendover was about 250$. The fact that the riverside is allowing me to also bring a guest for free making a $700 comp. Not only that I am scoring about $300 in slot free play, comp cash, free movie tickets and so on.. Would you say this is the only charter flight deal that would give so much on a $10,000 run through?

You mentioned Wendover in this post, and airfare in another. I don't know where you're located, but Wendover Resorts (Peppermill, Montego Bay, Rainbow) fly chartered planes all the time from all over the country (they have a partnership with Allegiant -- take it for what it's worth). You can see their flight map here:

https://wendoverfun.com/flights/

I'm a very small player there, but they send me offers almost monthly to fly out of a couple of cities near me in the Pacific Northwest. They're not comped, but I would suspect if you're really running $10K through a VP machine, that they'll cover your airfare and 2/3 nights hotel. Since you don't have a players card there, you'll probably have to pay cash upfront for your first visit, but you could probably get a good chunk of it comped on the back end.

Wendover is a low-roller's paradise. Only city I've ever been to with nickel machines in prime locations, like their bars. And even on a Saturday night, overwhelming majority of BJ tables are $5 minimums.

I’ve heard that about wendover a lot.ive started becoming more frugal on my trips.. got tired of paying 700$ allegiant air to fly to Vegas then gamble for a week and barely get a mailer to come back.. many 20$ slot play after 4 days.. by the sounds of it Laughlin and wendover seem to be the best for low rollers. I’m not sure what it takes to get back to beau rivage or A/C.. I’m just glad I can get called back for playing break even games
