So I was playing All American Poker on Bovada and using the Wizard's strategy calculator of course. One thing that I noticed is that the strategy calculator has me drawing to more inside straights than I would have anticipated. Does this seem accurate or typical for this game?

It wouldn't surprise me if it was typical. All American strategy is counter intuitive to a Jack's or Better strategy, which if you did that on All American, as I remember comes out to an EV of 95% or something close to that. Part of it is from the fact that FH, flushes and straights all pay the same, so strategy adjustments must be factored into that. I used to play All American years ago when it was more prevalent in brick and mortar places and before the short-pay versions replaced the full-pay 4000,1000,200,40,40,40, 15,5,5 version that was out there for so many years.

It is definitely correct, for example, 2-3-4-6 is better than holding a J, Q, or K. (With an Ace you would hold A-2-3-4.) Other strange plays are things like holding 4 to a flush or 4 to an open-ended straight instead of a paying pair of Jacks or Better; holding a 3-card straight like 6-7-8; holding 3 to a flush; holding 2 to a straight flush such as suited 89 or even 57 and 34; holding AKQ/AKJ or KQT/KJT or 9JQ; holding suited Ace-Ten; holding 3 to a straight flush instead of a low pair (depending on the 3 to a straight flush), and other things. I think it's a good strategy to have in one's arsenal.

Remember that straights pay a whopping 8 for 1 on this game and so do flushes. So you should be drawing to many more straights than most other VP games. Also you'll be drawing to many more flushes too.

I remember playing "full-pay" All-American (100.72% - 40 for 1 quads) for quarters while still in college in the hick town of Boonville, MO. In the end, I lost my ass of course. RIP full-pay AA. :( Really tough strategy though.

Now the best game I am aware of pays 35 for 1 for quads (99.6%). Harrah's Tunica has it for 50c+; I had to add it to VPFree2 because no one but me realized it was 99%+...haha

Actually that version was not the real full pay they had a different version that payed 250 on quads with max bet that was 103 % yes THREE PERCENT ADVANTAGE they even had them in a $5 dollar denomination. KC had many of them for years in the Quarter denomination with constant promotions and cash back worth over $25 an hr in the 90's until a AP employee of a team started posting about it on Skip's Page they all were gone within a few months of his fist post about them. This started a debate and thread about killing the golden goose. A few guys in Casino management were known to spy on the site.

We played the All American at Isle of Capri in KC for several years. It is one of my favorite games. I thought the strategy was relatively straightforward, and the variance was pretty low.

I was sorry to see it go, along with all of the quarter full pay Pick'Em

If they do, either it's great mailers at a ~high denomination, or totally unexpected if it's > 100% return.

VPFree2 says 99.6% AA exists in the Quad Cities on the Illinois side. No idea on mailers but if it's only for quarters like VPFree says, I doubt it's worth that much per hour.

What do I win? Is that the machine you heard of? If it's a game king/game maker with a bunch of crap games with it, it could give some huge bounceback for quarters maybe. Just seems unlikely. I also found 99.6% AA at Harrah's Tunica last month too for 50c+. But since it's a CET property, I wouldn't expect mailers to push much above 100% necessarily. The game was also grouped with other high-paying games at the 50c+ level, including full-pay WHA, JoB, and another blast from the past, Shockwave!
