Any casino and person involved would want to investigate

How is that relevant?

We are discussing events where you weren't involved.

Do witnesses have standing to investigate slot jackpots?

Consider a casino-controlled card game as the random event....

is there a point at which an unlikely eye-witnessed result is reported that you will not accept as truthful?

On wizardofvegas I have accepted all casino card game reports as truthful. I will question the underlying conditions and not accept that they are always the same.

When I hear reports of someone losing so badly at an online casino that it the chance of it happening due to randomness was more than five sigma*, I believe the game was rigged against the player. When I hear reports of someone earning a lot of money at casino card games, like in Thorpe or Mezrich books, or MDawg trip reports, I believe those card players are playing with an advantage against the casino.

(also, football games are random events, but that's a whole 'nother rabbit hole to go down)

*I hope I am using that right.

Some people on this board could post that they flipped 10 heads in a row and I’d believe them.

Other people on this board could post that they flipped 3 heads in a row and I’d have doubts.

My expectation was that you understood that the discussion was about casino gaming events.

The possibility exists that MDawg plays baccarat with an advantage.

But, when considering that MDawg does not play baccarat with an advantage, do his reported winnings for his 2020 trips fall outside the five-sigma range?...are his reported results for those trips so unlikely that you cannot accept them as accurate and truthful?

His reported trips for this year is not outside of five sigma. Extrapolated back to the 1990s, it does begin to approach that level, if his betting was completely random. But he has also reported using distinct methods, which means his betting is not random. His reports are completely believable if the results are based on having an edge over the casino and not randomness, just as many others have done. This is all becoming insanely circular.

I played for about a decade back then. I didn't win every trip during that decade, but I won over all. I was playing more BJ during the first half of that decade, more Baccarat second half.

Then I played not at all for about a decade (the decade long hiatus).

Then I started up again about September 2018, and have not had a losing trip since that resumption. When I started, I assumed that I would be playing nothing but BJ, but I actually lost some BJ sessions and walked over to the Baccarat tables and won it all back plus some. This pattern seemed to keep repeating itself, although there were some sessions when I won at BJ and then I would not even bother with Baccarat. After a couple more times when I lost at BJ, then won at Bacc., I cut really far back on the BJ and just played Baccarat. This last trip Feb/March 2020 I played Baccarat only.
I tell you it’s wonderful to be here, man. I don’t give a damn who wins or loses. It’s just wonderful to be here with you people. https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/gambling/betting-systems/33908-the-adventures-of-mdawg/

To paraphrase Carroll and to answer a question with a question, if you haven’t died by an age thought predetermined through the timing of your abuses and excesses, then what else is left but to talk to strangers on internet chatrooms about the merits of casino table games?

Also, two months ago there was a convincing argument about Why You Should leave (https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/off-topic/general/34168-why-you-should-leave-wov/#post754128). But after two months, I could finally see both sides and made the decision to spend less time at the casino and more time here.

It was an LVRJ web article from a couple days ago. Not finding it now. Perhaps it got removed or overridden by Governor Siselak. Wynn had announced it Wednesday morning, then an hour later Stations joined in. Haven't seen any further casinos announce openings, or any widespread (secondary) coverage of that announcement.

When they reopen, if the casinos ban all smoking, that would be great!

But otherwise, the sort of thing described here as some international casinos reopen
https://www.wsj.com/articles/casinos-shut-by-coronavirus-get-a-glimpse-of-the-future-in-macau-11585280952
-no drink service (no drinking or eating at the tables at all), players must wear masks and have their temperatures checked upon entry and perhaps regularly, doesn't sound like so much fun. Players must also stay away from each other and the numbers allowed at each table are limited.

However players having to stay away from each other wouldn't bother me - I generally prefer to play, especially Baccarat, alone.

In general though what they describe in Macau sounds like a downer. I think you'd really have to be desperate to gamble to deal with all that. I'd pass.

How much would you have to bet per hand for a casino to guarantee you a table alone?

This isn't so much based on how much you bet per hand, but on how big your credit line is. At someplace like the Wynn/Encore, you need a minimum half million line to get a reserved table. At Palms, I understand that a $300K line will do.

Years ago, I had a Baccarat table reserved for myself at one of the best casinos in Reno, with no line at all just a promise to play big, but I knew the Director of Table Games there, and, this was Reno not Vegas. That's a bit of a story, but I ended up not even playing at all, and the dealers assigned to the table just stood there all day and night I imagine, waiting for a guy who never showed. This is pretty common actually - I see these reserved tables pretty regularly, with no player at them.

Of course, when you get a Baccarat reserved table pursuant to a high credit limit the minimums are raised and sometimes the maximums too. If you have a half million line, you're usually allowed to bet max $25,000. or $30,000. versus the usual $20K. which is everyone else's limit. A million line can get you a $50,000. max bet. Most casinos in Vegas max out at $160,000. per hand and for that you need a $5M line. (There are rare exceptions, allowing up to $250K a hand, but this depends on the player, and the economy whether the casino is going to entertain that sort of action.) We're talking Baccarat, of course.

If you are a cash player, you will see much less courtesy when it comes to both the reserved tables and the higher limits - for example back then, this was fifteen or so years ago, at Bellagio, there was this guy I remember like it was yesterday who brought in $5M cash and all they let him bet max was $50K, and didn't even give him a reserved Bacc. table. He lost every penny, he was a terrible player, mostly flat betting and so unlucky it was ominous, I mean the guy was barely winning a third of his hands most of the time, betting against streaks, betting against obvious patterns, if you'd simply bet against him it would have been a guaranteed win session, but most people would defer to his big bets out of politeness and stay out when he plopped his constant 50K down on the circle.

There are all sorts of variables. I could write an article about it. For example, if it is a Baccarat reserved table, you're free to bet between mins and maxs no restrictions. Typically the reserved BJ tables are sucker's tables, with the min and max set exactly the same - forcing a very high flat bet.

You didn't "take them" for ketchup. It's an expendable. Once opened they don't give it to anyone else. That's why is so small. It's expected you will leave with it.

You have accused me (wrongly) of only making minimum wage yet you seem unable to afford your own ketchup

Personally I would prefer to win minimum wage as an AP than lose thousands as a ploppie like yourself

I don't think even lowly bus AP's would feel so low they would brag about making ketchup bottles as profit

I love those little ketchup bottles and the mini Tabascos. I think there is more than one MDAWG, kind of like in the matrix with agent Smith replicating. Any time someone wins at bacarat, before he gets up from the table to color up, he says, "I am MDAWG", then if at a baccarat table if MDAWG loses, MDAWG says, "I am not MDAWG." MDAWG always wins, and WDAWG loses.

The way he wrote it up, is that as long as I guarantee to cover his losses, he will sit and play alongside me and mirror my bets. Is that what he wants me to do? because if so, Could you repeat it? 'Cause I can't believe my [expletive censored] ears.

Mendoza I got your email, I will write to you.

As far as DarkOz's claims there is an expose on this posted Friday and in it I am advised to no longer respond to him. Done! Henceforth he is SHROUDED like Hart in Paper Chase.
DarkOz is an old guy, he probably watched Paper Chase when he was a kid. I watched reruns of it in law school not so very long ago, and I remember it like it was yesterday. Anyway, DarkOz's content is like that '80s movie, "Desperately Trying to be Relevant." MDawg is already relevant, to the tune of 144 pages and counting. DarkOz's thread on the other hand was resigned to the NoseBleed section, and that, is at the heart of what all his silly remarks are about, Mendoza. You got it right! he's just sore over that he was ridiculed and his thread given the boot. Amazing how someone whose second language is English still gets right to the core of matters so succinctly, much better than DarkOz. DarkOz did you find a ghost writer yet? you definitely need one. Goodbye, and good luck! with those mixed metaphors and hackneyed cliches, and I have better things to do than engage with a guy who is always hiding from the law.

The ketchup man realizes he got beat and is quitting

Here is the real MDawg challenge:

Both MDawg and challenger show up with 50 ounces of ketchup

Both will use their supply of ketchup on all hotdogs, hamburgers, fries, rice, beans, macaroni and eggs as possible

Both will try to get as much free ketchup as possible.

MDawg may have an advantage as he knows the secret that ketchup packets are handed out for free at both McDonald's and Burger King

At the end of the two week period whoever has more than 50 ounces of ketchup and the higher amount is the winner.

Since MDawg isn't actually certain he can do that, he pledges to pay nothing to the winner

That's correct Coach, the Adventures of MDawg is a factual trip report, it's not meant to be a lesson in BJ card counting, Baccarat win strategies or how to win at BJ or Baccarat. Why would I want others to win like I do?
If you want to win like I do you might need to put in the hours and put up your own money the way the original wager has always been. If you need me to bankroll you you don't belong at any casino, let alone at MDawg's casino.

Pending what? I can't comment on someone's content the same way he has been doing about mine? He ridicules me saying I am betting ketchup I point out that his writing is full of mixed metaphors and cliches, as many others have posted previously. In any case, I won't indulge his back and forth further.

and the mini Tabascos.

I suppose to some it might seem ironic that someone could get excited about taking the casinos for both their cash and their condiments.

but, it's not that uncommon.

I was just about to post about the mini Tabasco's! At my local expensive steakhouse they put a bunch of those on the tray they serve the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, or the Seafood Tower. I may use one, and do take the rest home! I know they would be just tossed in the garbage if I don't take them, as they are not in a communal area, but directly on the tray our food is being served on.

I do justify it by not ever wanting to waste food, as opposed to it being an AP food move!

Definitely the AP move of the month, nipping ketchup.

Hey, with the casinos all closed there should be lots of ketchup in his cabinet at least.

You have to be able to show some profit, right?

I knew you could relate Soopoo! Standing shoulder to shoulder!

Crazy, but I just realized how many tabascos I have:

NINE! Is that a positive omen for future play, or what?

Come to think of it, is it tabascos or tabascoes? Dan Quayle, where are you?
