What sh*tty service. Let us know what the host says. I understand that being a hostess can be stressful, but that is an awful way to react when dealing with guests.

The host replied "I don't know what to say to this - there are other dining options on property"

Ughhhh

Nice trip. Always nice to come out ahead of them. Your trip seemed so much more relaxing than mine was. Hoping to head down there solo this weekend.

Just a question, I've noticed by reading some of your older trip reports as well that your play style is very 'hit and run'. Do your hosts ever say anything about that? There is nothing wrong with it, in fact small winning sessions are the way to play if you want to win, but I could see a host saying, "we need longer play out of you, just not 10 hands here (2 minutes), 50 here, etc."

As for the question about playing and how many hours I play - this is a brand new host, never had any dealings with him prior to Ocean. We shall see what happens to any future offers but, hey, $3300 is $3300 in my pocket

Finally, checking out this morning there was a regular line and a Black Tier line -- the front desk clerk (the VIP check in/check out lounge was closed) repeatedly took from the regular line -- why even bother having a Black tier card?

It seems like you enjoyed yourself, and made some money so that is a good thing. However this would have infuriated me.

I'd guess that the check out clerk was just doing what he always did and the fact that the guy who is supposed to handle the black tier line didn't show up for work didn't phase him at all, Or else maybe he has learned black tier people are less likely to riot. Its obvious the place needed more than two days of a soft opening to get the kinks out of their operations and that some of those people have got to be let go because they just don't care or can't react to changing situations. Even a burger flipper knows you have to respond to the crowds as they materialize, not as they were predicted to materialize.

They just don't seem to have "floaters" at check in and check out ... people who show up and handle things when the lines get long.

Many restaurants have these movable signs "wait is about thirty minutes from this sign'' or something like that. Things can be slow, absenteeism can wreck a smooth operation , but people have to learn to deal with problems as they develop instead of 'following procedures' or 'writing memos'.

He has to be fair to both lines,
pissing people off means they
might not come back. You can't
really be mad at him for being
fair, it's not his idea to be manning
two lines.

There were two clerks - one of them saw the black line and attended to it after the one guest he was helping was finally finished -- why is it the people love to talk about life, love and their history to a hotel check-in clerk after they receive their keys? You've received your key, now go to your room and make way for someone else to check in.

AoS can answer for himself, but my hosts look at the total time playing per day as a factor. I've heard 3-4 hours a day as a threshhold goal in calculating future offers. But every property/chain has a different formula. And that's only 1 factor.

4 hours/day is typically what my hosts typically look for as well. I was just curious if they had an issue with short hit and run sessions (i.e. 10 hands at a time.) That's why I will sometimes switch over to bacc if I am having a big winning trip and want to lock in the win, but want to show more hours for my host. I can play 25% of the hands (as long as it's a table with a few players on it) and even when I do play, I am playing a game with a low house advantage.

Absolutely. Winning Sessions > Comps. No question about that.

I sometimes just feel obligated to play the 4 hours a day, unless the host specifically says don't worry....especially if I have a relationship with them. In the long run, I'd rather win more often and pay for the things they comp now.
