I've always stayed at the GN downtown and I like it, and I think they value me, but I'm having a host issue right now and they're pissing me off so I'm debating another place. That being said (seeking more comments/opinions)

Get a new host or send your host a specific email, do not tolerate "issues". Its YOUR money they want. They can give you a pleasant time or a headache, but if they choose headache, you walk.
JBartoleme is lowest host on the GN ladder but often its the young 'eye candy' hosts that work the hardest for you.

High end for sure.

The Dancing Dealers still pay you 3:2 for a blackjack so I guess its the best of both worlds.

What about Sam'sTown on the Boulder Strip? Its the casino with the highest number of motorized carts in town. Lots of charging stations if you have your own mobility cart. Can usually sit at craps table unless actually shooting.

I agree. Why's anyone in bed before 1:00a.m.?

I will never understand you young whippersnappers.

My wife and I just returned from a ten day vacation and I am proud to say that one night we managed to stay up until 10pm.

Yep, I'm a 49 year old whippersnapper but I'm not so far over the hill that I wouldn't watch the dancing dealers if I go.

I always make a point when in Las Vegas of strolling the strip late at night, when it is less crowded and the "night people" are on parade.

No, "night people."

The whores, the drunks, the dopers, the party crowd: those who come out to play when Ma and Pa Kettle head to bed.

Comparing daytime to night time is like comparing Iowa to Ibiza.

Oops. Didn't read that right.

My personal favorite will always be the bum who was begging for money for booze/gambling and using his IPad while he waited for donations.

The D and GG are all 3:2 BJ to their credit. Otherwise bad rules mostly, 8d, no surrender, no resplit aces. HL you can get 6d/DD with same rules I believe, you will mostly be playing alone in HL.

HL at The D is only 25$ (unless they hike it up when there's more than one person in there...), for what it's worth, so it's not exactly "threatening".

The dealers there are kind of iffy; one insisted that you had to match a matchplay exactly (first time that's ever happened to me there... or anywhere), and then claimed that 3red+5white is equal to 1green. Switching tables after that, I was killing time playing green in the main pit, down about 800 and not even finished with the first shoe, when I pull a BJ. And the dealer just stops for upwards of a minute, waiting for a tip, I guess. I just colored and left after playing The Waiting Game.

The FSE is loud enough to keep me awake until it ends (1AM, I think? It's been a while since I've stayed there), even when I'm on a higher floor. Also, the walls are pretty thin. A few months ago, I was privvy to some acting that wouldn't even merit a best effort mention at the AVN awards. It was actually pretty funny.

I think the best part about The D is that the McDonald's there is pretty reasonable about their price premiums, given the location, and they regularly get pretty good deals on their mobile app. On the other hand... McDonald's.
