Ok first show back was a disaster lost another 1k

Switched tables and was inspired by the dealer's story of a guy he dealt mini-bac to earlier today who started with 200 and let it ride each hand for 14 hands and won 80k

I pressed my wins more and got the 1k back from the opening shoe plus another 2k

Trip is -2k (YTD -16k)

Going to the room and watching TV might
be cheaper than both. You aren't getting
thousands in a cash advance, just enough
for a few hands probably. That's called
gambling, the casino will nod knowingly
in your direction.

I had to laugh out loud when I read this. Because that's exactly what I do!
Pay per view is cheap and there is usually tomorrow.

Good luck Ace! I see that you're now coming back.

Jeeezz, AoS been on the coaster at Six Flags again and I missed the whole thing. Reported all the dips and curves ( and dipjhits ). Coaster let him off right where it picked him up. Could be a lot worse, them things jump the track occasionally. I assume he left some tips? And walked away even? That means the house lost a little. Warning, the house doesn't like to lose. Maybe he's like Robin Hood, takes from the evil Baron(?) and gives to the underpaid peasants. Maybe HR dept is a fan?

Good luck next week! Tournament play is a whole different ball game, got a whole different set of betting strategies.

Over and out....

As someone who carried a radio in Vietnam, this "over and out" makes me shake my head every time I hear someone say this.

You never ever say this.

It translates to 'it's your turn to talk, I'm hanging up'.

Roger..I hear and understand you.
Wilco...I will comply with your instructions.
Over...I'm releasing my talk button so you can talk (and more importantly, I can listen, because when I'm transmitting I'm not receiving).
Out...I'm releasing my talk button and consider the conversation done.

"over", in my experience, was almost always (and exclusively) used for emphasis asking for a quick response: "Say again, over?" Occasionally used with very bad radio reception/garbled to differentiate end of transmission from fadeout or dropped words. Otherwise an irritant wasting verbiage and radio time. It's all one-way comm and everybody knows that; there's a precise vocabulary down to the WORD, whether ATC, police dispatch, military. So "over" is redundant nonsense; just unkey, 'cuz I got a lot of metal to talk to and it's all moving really, really fast.

"Yeah, approach, this here's November 543 tango uniform (made-up callsign), all the way from Austin to your house in Portland, got the wife and dog on board my Cessna 210, and we'd like to come in from the west for landing....yada, yada, yada." And then he forgets to unkey, and you get to listen to him yakking all the way in. Can't stop him, can't override him, because it doesn't work like phones. (Though it may soon; that will be a relief.)

'Aluminum showers, are coming your way, and they have the power, to totally eff your day'...part of a song I wrote, used to go through my head when I had one of these yabo's taking up my airtime. Better than screaming "Shut the EFF up!" when the freq's locked, since we were monitored and recorded.

"Roger that"....sarcasm. implied addition: you idiot, or he's an idiot if it's a briefing or info from a third party who knows he's relaying something stupid.

"That's a Roger!"....idiot/amateur/smartass transmission. Usually accompanied by CB codes sooner or later.

My favorite Airplane! quotes:

Oh, Stewardess, I speak Jive.

Joey, do you like gladiator movies?

And, Just kidding! (With the runway lights electrical plug in hand).
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.
