Total Bust® Bonus-Blackjack™ 爆總數21點™ (Patent Pending) by Stephen Au-Yeung ©2009.
Math by Cindy Liu.

Rules
Total Bust® Bonus-Blackjack™ is a Blackjack Side-bet for any Blackjack games.
The concept of this Side-bet is based on the Dealer’s completed Blackjack-hand TOTAL.

The Total Bust® Side-bet, wins if the Dealer's completed Blackjack-hand are 22, 23, 24, 25 or 26 (see Pay-table).

The Question is:
1. Which Pay-table do you like?
2. Which Pay-table have the higher House-Edge.

P.S. Next week, I will post the House-Edge for the both Pay-table and is it Vulnerable to Card Counting.

Pay-tables for 6-Decks, s17

Pay-table A (Dealer Bust TOTAL):
22-Point (2 to 1)
23-Point (3 to 1)
24-Point (4 to 1)
25-Point (1 to 1)
26-Point (1 to 1)

Pay-table B (Dealer Bust TOTAL):
22-Point (4 to 1)
23-Point (3 to 1)
24-Point (1.5 to 1)
25-Point (1 to 1)
26-Point (1 to 1)

Hey, Stephen.

Does the dealer complete his hand if everyone who placed the bet busts out before he plays his hand? If not, what happens to their sidebet?

Related question, or same q from a different angle: does a player have to have a live hand to still have sidebet action?

I'm wondering if the dealer does play it out, whether that wouldn't be a bad deal for the player. On a + count shoe, they'd be using up good cards, and on a - count shoe, they'd be more likely to not bust, so the bet would lose.

Thanks.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

Hi Beachbumbabs,
Thanks for your question.

1. If there is a Total-Bust Side-bet, The Dealer will complete his hand, even if all Player has bust-out.
2. If there is no Total-Bust Side-bet, Standard Blackjack rules remain unchanged.

P.S. The Player does not have to have a live hand to still have Side-bet action (The Total-Bust Side-bet is based on the Dealer's hand only).

Sounds like the red headed step child of Buster Blackjack, without the ability to win anything more than 4 to 1.

Pass.

I don't like paytable b due to 1.5 payout. Whole numbers are easier. I hate getting $2.5 chips

Hi etablegames,

I Have a lot of New Table Games and Side-bets, but no time/place to get them out.

If I have a chance, I all-ways try to get my Main-games out before my Side-bets, so this is the first time I show this Side-bet, but The game and math (by Cindy Liu) was done in 2009.

P.S. For those that are interested, I have a few more that I can and will share with you in this Forum, SOON.

BTW, Haven't hear from you (etablegames) for some time. How are your games doing?

Worst of the 3 bust games I know of at this time. I would say Buster and Bust Bonus are both more appealing.

I agree.

I may be missing one, but I've never seen a popular BJ sidebet with such a low top pay. That's a lot of the draw on these BJ sidebets. One giant part the opportunity to win big, one small part hit frequency.

Thank you for asking. Here is a partial status report:

(1) Tie Max, a Baccarat side bet: has over 20 placements at The Orleans, Gold Coast, Suncoast, Las Vegas and M8trix Casino, San Jose, CA. The first table opened 2 years ago and every casino grew the table numbers organically. At M8trix, the tables are super-sized to over 10 seats per table. The participation rate continues to be high. Players like it, dealers get more tips and casinos have good drops. As a game designer, I cannot ask for more. My next market is State of Washington, already approved.

For detail game description, see Wizard of Odds.,

(2) Dragon Dragon Baccarat Progressive: at Gold Coast for over 8 months now. See WOO.

(3) Blackjack Blast Progressive: to open at The Orleans soon. $1 bet and the seed is $5,000. I will give a report when it opens, 4 tables to begin with.

Regarding Vulnerable to Card Counting on Total Bust®. I just realise I only have the results for h17 (see below).

As you can see, Pay-table A with h17 is not Countable.

P.S. I will get this done again soon, with a few of my Newer Pay-tables (including higher Pay-outs).

Pay-table A:
22-Point (2 to 1)
23-Point (3 to 1)
24-Point (4 to 1)
25-Point (1 to 1)
26-Point (1 to 1)

Interesting, when I am counting blackjack I like to add a bit of side bet action when the time is right.
The issue with this, as well as with Lucky ladies, is it's pretty much all or nothing, meaning a winning side bet also means probably a winning hand, for LL, and most of the time for Total bust, as a lot more dealer bust will be after you stay than after you bust. This increases the variance! What would be great is a side bet that's the opposite, for example bet on dealer not busting, or dealer 20. This can help CCs structure bets to get the +EV out when there is one, with less variance.

Now one might think, why would the casino offer that! Well it might also be very popular with everyone even -EV.
Most people will also tend to structure their bets thinking it's for safety or for insurance. Think about how often you heard that you should insure good hands and not bad hands? The "reasoning" behind this being a good hand should at least still win if dealer has no Blackjack so it's all good!
It doesn't have to be countable as long as the HE is small enough on good counts :p

Hi tyler498,

Games or Side-bets that bet that's the opposite, for example bet on dealer not busting.
Has been try already, none has work so far.
