Bottom line is...

"If these machines were truly causing losses to the casino by vultures they would be removed." No one said they were causing losses to the casinos. .

Great stuff. Making money writing about casinos / gambling was the most eye opening part of the whole interview. That's what I would want to learn how to do.

The guys who go around and check the Green Stamps machine to see if it is +EV, and only play +EV games, absolutely do cost the casino money. Offering these variable state machines is definitely profitable for the casino. Seems pretty obvious to me that both things can be true. Roving Gangs is a good description. Maybe Roving Zombie Gangs would be better.

What's your point of quoting that? The MACHINES are not causing the losses, the VULTURES are.

Roving Gangs Of Asiatic Zombies would certainly pique my interest.

Just got to figure out what's worst, non existent Roving gangs of Asian slot hustlers, or real Fear Mongering Darksiders who scare the casinos into calling the cops on people engaging in legal slotting activities.

It's the roving gangs of Vampires they need to worry about since they effortlessly go undetected while sucking the money right out of the ploppies wallets.

Being detained by security for a legal activity could be a decent AP move, no?

Yes! This is fairly obviously the right answer. Offering some interesting-but-variable-state games is better for the house than offering only other games, but vultures make the hold on those games somewhat-less than it otherwise would be.

Do these kinds of machines make more money for the casino than other types of machines? Im sure they make more than some and less than others. I think the buffalo gold machines make much more, and they are not variable state.

Buffalo gold, lian lian dragon/panda, dancing drums, and like 8 flavors of 5 dragons rule the list of high per-machine earners. Lian lian and dancing drums are a little interesting. The pots look like they accumulate bonus probability but they don't.

The hold as a percent of action cannot be changed. The total profit is lower, because there is less action. For people who are willing to play -EV games, the more wins they get, the more they hit the button.

Eg, someone decides to put $20 in a dollar machine and play until it's gone. They could hit the button 30 times, or 300, but they are going to give $20 to the casino.
Someone else decides play because they know the next spin(s) are +EV and will leave when they are -EV. Over time, they are going to take money from the casino.

If those wins that would happen when we know the next spin is +EV goes to the Hoard of Demon EV Slayers, it takes money from the casino, because it reduces action from the profitable players.

With permission to reveal what the PM said, but not who sent it, I was asked:

"What were you drinking in the video?"

Haha. Very funny, $mart@$$. (JK)

The answer is half Irish Breakfast Tea and half Earl Grey. Any facial expressions after taking a sip due to the fact that I like my tea very hot.
